Big game against Miami for sure when it comes to being buyers or sellers for the rest of 2024, but big picture is we are in year 2 of a rebuild and just hitting the stage where we become buyers with a lot of present and 2025 cap space to complete a winning roster. I don’t want to overspend on a 8-10 game 2024 player whose contract then ends, but if we can get a young, legit upgrade player on a 3-4 year contract we need to be ready to move. I don’t like giving up big draft ammo, but we have some 2024 players who are aging and might not be in the long term plans. I agree with you which is why in my post above all the players I listed on bad teams with bad GM's are 24-25 yrs old in NEED positions. So if you must give up conditional 3rd day picks for young players either on a cheap rookie deal (Neal/Horn) or a pending free agent whose brother plays for the Cards which definitely helps in the recruitment. I am wiling to give up a conditional (based on 2024 snaps which gives JG discretion) 3rd rounder for Jaycee Horn as this team definitely needs a CB1 and SMB is NOT that !!! |

Thanks for posting the link. I agree with the writer: the (3-4) Cardinals are not buyers and should not be sellers. The team is at the threshold of the playoffs doorway. Don't fool around with the roster when things seem to be improving. The current guys are all-in. Don't sell off parts now. The risk is not worth the biscuit. |

I think Za'Darius Smith of the Browns will go to the Lions; however I do think there is a 65% chance Monti makes a trade for an edge player. The edge player will most likely be between Uche of the Pats, Harold Landy of the Titans or Azeez Ojulari.
Looks like RT Jonah Williams is coming back soon and DRob looks to be ready to practice on Wednesday. So DL and OL getting internal replacements so Edge has to be the position for a trade.

JV podcast is talking about Jonah Williams coming back and JG has stated he is in the facility working out and "looking good." I expect Jonah Williams to be back after the bye week. Uche who is only making $3M can be had easily for a 5th according to reports. Cardinal fans must root tonight for the Giants to lose because then Azeez Ojulari almost certainly will be traded before the deadline. There is not great DT talent available but a couple of guys I've seen in proposed trades are Giants DT Jordon Riley and Browns DT Dalvin Tomlinson... neither I believe will cost much. Right now the Giants are a very dysfunctional franchise looking for draft picks and they have 3 guys I would be very interested in and none would cost much - Azeez Ojulari, Guard Evan Neal and Jordan Riley who all are age 24-26 with nice upside potential. The only one whom will be a free agent after season is Azeez but since his brother is a member of the Cards it might give the Cardinals the inside track when he hits free agency. |

I think our postseason potential can get derailed if nothing is done on the defensive side of the ball by the trade deadline. One good edge rusher that could emerge as someone who opponents would need to gameplan around could make a world of difference. |
