Was listening to Wolf and luke today on AZ sports . Talking about the Browns possible imploding .We could use all the help we can get . Imagine all the help we could get on trades from the Browns. Your thoughts ,what say you ? They'll need the draft capital. They already traded their WR1, so they're willing to deal. I would be interested in Myles Garrett, but that price could be insane Cinder block? Was that his head? If yes, no thanks. We need smart guys on D.

Stuff like his performance is a reminder our OL isn't as bad as many think, especially given all its injuries. I remember this kid's name but I don't recall how he comped next to Paris. Most OL take one year to get stronger and more technical. There are exceptions like Wirfs who was a beast and technically sound being taught by Ferentz, as most Iowa OL are. A lot of folks judged Paris as a rookie, but more and more OL these days are weaker coming out of college. The OT's that is. They also lack the technical side since so few colleges run pro style blocking schemes. And since most high schools now run Air Raid/RPO systems, these kids aren't growing up learning techniques like kids did decades ago. If Dawan gets decent praise from MHJ/Paris, I'd definitely take a flyer on the kid. But since almost no one gets rid of a highly regarded rookie OT, there's got to me some other issues we don't know about if they are even willing to trade him.

It's probably looking down a dead-end, but I will keep tabs on Dawand Jones over the coming period. - We are not flushed at RT and maybe our FO will be tempted to get him in should an opportunity develop (and Cleveland decide to throw everything on the table and start over again). - He wouldn't cost much in trade terms and getting a young player with good physical attributes at Tackle, to nurture and develop, is not something to pass over lightly. With our two recent first-round picks coming from Ohio State, then there is a temptation to keep going back to the same trough to drink.

Did anyone catch MO's comments about the Trading Deadline during his weekend interview? I did. Bascially, MO said GMs are always talking and kicking around trade ideas. On Friday or Saturday during his interview, MO did not indicate that he was serious about a trade option with any team. But that does not mean he's not working on a deal.
CBLTV mentioned in another thread that DE Reddick has re-signed with the Jets on Sunday. Most or all big-name assets are now off the board.
It's my guess that MO is not going to spend his way out of misery. He's going to make Gannon work for it.

It's my guess that MO is not going to spend his way out of misery. He's going to make Gannon work for it. Azeez Ojulari had 2 more sacks yesterday vs. Eagles and is the brother of BJ Ojulari of the Cardinals. He is still being rumored to be a trade deadline candidate. I think the Lions make a deal this week to replace Hutchinson so we'll see if they are targeting someone other than Azeez. IMO tonight's game is critical for our Cardinals and could dictate whether they are buyers or sellers at trade deadline. If BJ's brother is available for a lower end pick, then I hope Monti jumps on it. The 2025 has very good talent on the DL but the edge guys are somewhat plentiful however there are question marks on almost all of them. Thru his brother, Monti should be able to get intel on if Azeez would resign with the Cardinals to play with his brother in 2025. This would allow the Cards to go DL/CB/OL in the first 3 rounds of the 2025 draft unless the Panthers are ready to trade Jaycee Horn for a draft pick as they need draft capital to draft a QB in 2025. Right now these teams are on the brink of tanking for a QB and need draft assets to climb up draft boards next April to get a QB - PANTHERS/BROWNS/TITANS/RAIDERS/ GIANTS/SAINTS/JETS and the JAGS are 2-5 with player assets to trade outside of their QB. P.S. I want to note something about the Cardinals and lack of luck - - In 2023 and with allegedly a last place schedule, the Cardinals as it turned out by end of season had the 2nd HARDEST strength of schedule.
- In 2023, the average NFL team only had to play vs. teams with their #1 QB for 77% so almost a quarter of the season teams went against backups.
- In 2023, the Cardinals played against the #1 QB of the opponent -- 93% of the snaps during the season.
- In 2024, I believe so far the Cards have played the opposing team's #1 QB - 100% of snaps.
- In 2024, though previously injured the Packers Jordan Love was ready and almost 100% vs. Cardinals.
- In 2024, to date the Cardinals have played the #ONE toughest schedule.
- Tonight - J. Herbert who has played but been about 75% will play the Cardinals at almost 100% health.
- Next week after missing quite a few games, Tua will most likely start vs. the Cardinals.
- In 2024, the Cardinals in the rotational divisional matchups get the NFC Central which is by far the toughest division and the Commanders look like they are going to be one of those teams going from last to first - why couldn't the Cards have drawn the Giants ?
- Refs - in the Lions game an incorrect call negating a defensive touchdown with the Lions beating the snap at 2 minute warning but was ruled later to have been blown dead though no whistle blew until Goff was about .02 seconds from being hit. Of course in the Bills game a bogus roughing the passer call on Zaven Collins and lack of a DFI at end of game on the Bills 2 yd line were very, very questionable.
Maybe Monti and JG should start putting a rabbit's foot in their pockets or MB hiring someone to form an exorcism on SFS.

And yesterday, I heard that the late hit penalty by Barnes on QB Love in the GB game, which cost the Cardinals a huge defensive play--an INT as I recall, was not a late hit after all. The Commisioner's office did not fine Barnes, meaning that the refs got it wrong. The Refs were wrong and the Cardinals paid a huge price on that down. Lucky other team again and again. The song is always the same.

Lucky other team again and again. The song is always the same. The Pottsville Curse - if you believe in that sort of thing. It sounds like a joke, but when one considers how many years this team has been snakebitten, then just maybe?

If the Cards win on Sunday, I am hoping makes some strategic moves with one of the 6-7 NFL teams who are racing to lose and get a top 3 pick to then draft their hopeful QBOF next April.
One team in this situation & which SK dealt with to orchestrate one of the best trades for the Cards was with the NY Giants. RG Hernandez was a high draft pick by the Giants but had been under-performing with the Giants and their coaching staff. The Giants have a 2022 Top 7 pick who has underperformed and this year he has not taken a snap. I believe the same OL coach who did not get the best out of Hernandez has been working with this former Alabama OL All-American.
The name of this player is Evan Neal who was the 7th pick overall in just the 2022 draft and JUST TURNED 24 yrs old. The Giants use of O'Neal reminds me of how the Cardinals misused "BIG" Leonard Davis in the past. As Cardinal fans know, Leonard Davis was a top pick and put at LT where his career was very uneven but then when he went to the Cowboys and moved to GUARD he become an All-Pro.
Well Evan Neal is 6'7" and 345-350 lbs. and the Giants had him playing tackle ... which in my view is asinine and very similar to the mistake by the Cardinals with Leonard Davis. It is very rare if not impossible for a man weighing 350 lbs to have quick enough feet to take on speed edge rushers; however having above average foot quickness and being able to maul blockers makes for a potential All-Pro Guard. Right now it appears Neal is in the doghouse of the Giants coaching staff and I believe the same OL coach who under-utilized Hernandez. So I believe Monti could get Evan Neal for no worse than a conditional 6th rounder easy ... condition could be predicated on snaps but it allows the Cards coaching staff to work with him and at end of season retain him to play RG in 2025 on rookie contract or resign Hernandez to probably a nice contract with Neal being his backup or possibly playing LG.
Of course I also want Monti to go get Azeez Ojulari (brother of BJ) with the Giants so while Monti is working on the Neal trade, he could discuss with GM Schoen of the Giants what they want for Ojulari. Azeez Ojulari is a FA at end of year and the Giants having Burns and Thibodeau are not going to retain his services for 2025 so the Giants want to get something rather than losing a player for nothing.
IMO it is time to back up the Brinks truck and pull off a big heist against the Giants and set the Cards up for the playoffs. Now if Monti could just call the Panthers and have them give up CB Jaycee Horn for a conditional 3rd rounder.

It's amazing how a player can so quickly go down in the pecking order and at the same time put their professional career into question. - I don't know the detail surrounding Neal's demise, but for an ex-top prospect, who can play Guard and Tackle, then he would be well worth a punt for a sixth or a seventh rounder. 7th overall pick in 2022 to (potentially) a seventh rounder two years later is some fall. I have read a couple of articles following your post and each is saying he retains a positive outlook, is working hard to improve and will play to his max. when his number is called. Odd.

We could offer a 'buy one, get another at half price' supermarket-type deal. Monti strikes me as someone who is looking to accumulate picks, rather than to deal them away, even lower Day 3 picks. We will wait and see. With the injury to Gardeck, then the chances of trading for an Edge player have just gone up significantly, especially if the team wins in Miami at the weekend. Joshua Uche was another player I liked in college and with New England's season seemingly hit the buffers, then there is a high probability he will be leaving in the window (destination yet to be determined, to the highest bidder). bleacherreport.com/articles/10140041-patriots-trade-rumors-joshua-uche-draws-interest-ahead-of-2024-nfl-deadline

Sometimes those first big paychecks just ruin a guy. I have first hand knowledge of a particular Cardinal player who was a worker in college but once he got signed and laid would come home from practice, then Door Dash a ton of Big Macs, cheat on his wonderful girlfriend with escorts, and watch tv and play video games the rest of the day, and then go out at night to gamble with his crew. Having money made him lazy. I had the urge to contact the Cardinals office and rat him out.

Big game against Miami for sure when it comes to being buyers or sellers for the rest of 2024, but big picture is we are in year 2 of a rebuild and just hitting the stage where we become buyers with a lot of present and 2025 cap space to complete a winning roster. I don’t want to overspend on a 8-10 game 2024 player whose contract then ends, but if we can get a young, legit upgrade player on a 3-4 year contract we need to be ready to move. I don’t like giving up big draft ammo, but we have some 2024 players who are aging and might not be in the long term plans.
