My top three Qb's I no longer put them in an exact order but my three favorites are Daniels Williams and Nix.

I highly value Benjamin Allbright's opinions regarding the draft so this is interesting. Allbright last year correctly told JV (about a 7-10 days prior to it happening) that Gannon would be the Cards HC AND 3 weeks before the draft told JV, the Cards would trade down and Will Anderson would not be chosen at #3. On first day of the draft, nothing would be better for Monti and the Cards then to have 5 QB's chosen in Rd. #1.

Two things from this video: 1) as I said when we cut him, Colt should be kept on staff as a QB coach and mentor. He understands the position to a T and is a fantastic teacher and individual. 2) This explains why I was all about Daniels (or Nix) in my early mock drafts when folks had him being available with our 2nd rounder, and then again when he rose in the draft throughout the season and I said I still would take him with our later 1st rounder…and this is when I thought our Houston pick would be around pick 15. He is a guy elite at designed runs and scrambles/improv, but more importantly all the throws. He makes you have to cover every receiver at all times. He’s a taller and potentially better Kyler, and improved each year. I felt we should take him no matter how well Kyler played the second half. Tell me a young QB with his talent is worth less than a WR with MHJ or an LY with Alt’s talent over the long term.

If Bo Nix is there at our second round pick, I’d be tempted as a GM.

Watching the morning sports shows was interesting this morning as it was revealed: - Justin Fields has UN-followed the Bears on IG and begun following several Falcon players ... this is a day or two after it was reported that the Bears were definitely talking to teams about Justin Fields in Mobile at the Senior Bowl. I would look for an announcement next week as teams gather in Indy for the Combine. Last Year the Bears trade with the Panthers happened at the Combine.
- Vegas upped their odds in favor of Russell Wilson being traded to the Steelers.
- 49ers are "getting close" to hiring their new DC with Brandon Staley in the running (I hope this is the choice) but apparently the 49ers local radio stations are all abuzz about the new DC maybe being .... Bill Belichick!
- On the Carton show (he is good friends with HC Saleh) says Mike Evans will be a NY Jet.
- There was discussion on "Get Up" about the Giants at #5 moving up to #3 and drafting Drake Maye since Daboll worked wonders with Josh Allen and Maye has similar skills. Giants are on a rebuild and they would then have Daniel Jones start at beginning of season with the idea of trading him and turning the keys over to Drake Maye.
If Justin Fields next week is traded to the Falcons for #43 and maybe #142 that takes one team away from moving up to #3 or #4 to get a QB. IMO Steelers trading for Russell Wilson makes sense, since the Broncos will be paying RW around $34M and the Steelers would not need to shell out a lot of $$ for RW. My question is since the Steelers from a $$ situation would be getting a good deal for RW ... what draft capital do the Broncos receive for RW ?? Why the above is important for the Cardinals is: - If Bears get pick #43 for Fields, would they move up to #3 and draft MHJ by giving up #9, #43 and a 2025 1st rounder to get MHJ ?? Seems like a lot for a non-QB
- Wonder how the Patriots and Broncos view JJ McCarthy that they might just wait and not trade up for a QB but it has been rumored for 3 weeks that the Broncos have called several teams as the want one of the Big 3 QB's
- If the Pats do trade down, most likely the team moving to #3 is a QB and MHJ falls to Cardinals; however if the Bears scenario in #1 above materializes, then what could the Cardinals get from either the Broncos or Raiders who need a QB ?
- Trade with Broncos if MHJ is not available - #12, #122, CB Patrick Surtain PFF = 69.0 and 2025 1st Rounder
- Trade with Raiders if MHJ is not available - #13, #44, 2025 2nd Rounder & CB Nate Hobbs - PFF 69.0 (I would ask for Maxx Crosby but very much doubt this would happen)

I like the way you think, but I’d also call it over-thinking 🙂 Keep it up though, I love considering the possibilities you throw out there.

A HBCU Combine Highlight --
Davius Richard, QB, North Carolina Central: The two-time Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year had a strong combine performance and has thrown the ball with more instinct, accuracy and touch than any other quarterback at this event. The respect he has from players on both teams is obvious; they often seek him out with questions or for conversation. The 6-3, 220-pounder is all business, too. It's typically hard for quarterbacks from HBCUs to get the attention of NFL teams. Richard seems to have done that.

Jayden Daniels decided NOT to throw at the combine just like Caleb. I think he may slide because of that, but either way, it's going to reduce the willingness of some teams to pay a premium to trade up.

I don't think it matters for us unless Qb don't go 1 2 and 3, I think KM is gonna be the guy going forward.

Keep your eyes on leftie QB Penix at the Combine today (March 2nd). He's throwing to some wide-open WRs. He's been turning heads in gyms and impressing team GMs at interviews all week.
I'm also a leftie. Pitched baseball mostly. Killer curve ball. Okay fastball. Never QB'ed. But could throw a school football almost 70 yards in HS and DII intermural sports. Penix beats me in accuracy and footspeed.

Interesting statistic. But, that's not a huge drop-off, from 48% to 38% among those six QBs. Just a 10% spread. Another way to look at the success rate for 1st downs and the percentages, it's 1 in 10 passes made for a 1st down. What did the WR do wrong on that 1 pass?
