Dude makes mistakes as everyone does but that's a perfect example of why coaches love the kid. There is plenty of tape like this where he manipulates safeties into giving up big plays. I wish Kyler had the brains to do more of this stuff. Maye is the master of the arm fake. He got young DBs and Safeties to bite all the time. Once the D committed, he killed it. In some respects, Maye reminds me of Aaron Rodgers when he was a young QB, but with running ability. Maye might be much more dangerous. The Patriots will find out soon, if Maye is their guy.

The more I look at Qb's I can make a case for three of them. That could be a good thing or it could be the opposite. I have warmed up to Maye I have Maye Williams and Nix are my three favorites, Then that Lsu Tiger creeps in there and is he being overlooked by me ? Definitely think the Qb class is very good but my over all favorite pick is Harrison. Maybe mainly because something tells me if they take Qb it will be later and in that case Harrison makes the most sense if he gets to us. Definitely a possibility with the demand at Qb.

LSU Tiger lefty Daniels has a cannon arm. Some of his deep throws look like Kentucky QB Levis' bombs. A WR can eat a hot dog while waiting for their passes to come back to Earth. My concern with Daniels is accuracy. He's got a lot of work to do pre-launch, otherwise he's going to be watching a bunch of Pick 6's going the other direction like 6'6" Joe Flacco saw last night.

My concern with Daniels, and Nabors, is LSU playing a historically weak schedule. They could end up being special, but how do you know when they racked up huge stats against not one, not two, but 3 terrible non-conference opponents. SEC teams always play one weak school like Georgia St, etc.. but LSU played three. Worse, their coach didn't pull their players early like Georgia's coach did with Bowers. So Daniels and Nabors are out their just piling up half their season's stats against high school talent. Doesn't mean they won't be good pros, but that's a huge risk you have to consider. I'll repeat something else I've mentioned before. Daniels lost every single game he played against top teams this year. That includes FSU, Ole Miss, etc... You have to give him credit for hanging in every single game and making them close. But he never seemed to do enough to overcome 'lesser' QB's. I really struggle with that. If Daniels played at a smaller school, like Josh Allen did, I'd be all over drafting him because of his arm/mobility, etc... But he doesn't. He plays at LSU. L-S- friggin U. A school that always has top recruiting classes. Always gets WR's like Nabors or Van Jefferson. You have to consider that stuff when you compare kids coming out of LSU, USC, Texas, etc... For me to take a big school QB over a kid from a MAC school, or smaller school, that big school QB needs to be heads and shoulders above the others. Because when QBs from North Carolina, Vanderbilt, or Cincinatti come out, you know they may have some support, but they are not surrounded by the elite talent guys like Daniels or Kyler Murray had in college.

I did not watch LSU games, but I did watch a couple YT videos showing Daniels performance. It's easy to see what Daniels does right or wrong, IMV. I'm no scout but I can see the difference between a pro-style QB and an athletic QB that has big NCAAF numbers. That's why I put Daniels far down the list of 2024 QBs. He might be the next Lamar Jackson for all I know. But he's more likely to be the next RGIII, IMV.

Caleb Williams finally declared for the draft. Its on. Another soft USC quarterback that cried to what his mama in the stands after a loss? There's no way in hell I would draft this guy.

Don't like either QB prospect. Both are overrated due to what is out there. Caleb Williams is a system QB and hasn't shown that he can make the kind of throws in the NFL. Drake Maye regressed this year and was living from his hype from the previous year. Maye tends to hold onto the ball for a long time. He does not make quick reads or release the ball quickly. Maye will suffer in the NFL.
I would pass on both
I would go with Bo Nix. Maye is bigger but Nix has the stronger arm

And there is Daniels, a good mix of talent somewhere between Maye and Nix. With Daniels, a team gets awesome foot speed, a cannon arm, and darned good height. He might be better than Lamar Jackson someday!

After watching the national championship game I don't see how anybody would ever take Michael Penix Jr. This guy will never be a legit QB in the NFL.
