Ok Im out! When the first point in this twitter post is to try and play the race card, and claim that Kirk was "in fear" of being shot by the police....it shows me he is guilty. Kirk has been treated like a god since he was 16 years old in Scottsdale. There is ZERO reason to think he was picked on because of race or had any legitimate fear of the cops. That is an excuse, plain and simple...and is trying to avoid owning up to his own idiotic actions. By trying to change the story into some kind of "Poor Black Kid vs. The Cops" motive, it shows that he is not willing to hold himself accountable for his idiotic actions. Of course he hired a defense attorney! He is a millionaire, and he knows his bogus "assaulted by the cops" story won't hold water when the details are actually brought forth. He was drunk, he was disorderly, and he was arrested while vandalizing someone elses property. I have no idea if he was on cocaine or not, but I also highly doubt he was Mr. Compliant with the cops. If the "accusations" weren't true, he would not have been arrested. If there was no witness, he would not have been arrested. If he weren't drunk, he most likely wouldn't have been arrested. Hey Christian. GET NEW FRIENDS. Instead of helping to keep you out of trouble, these people are posting on social media, creating a false story where you are the victim. If you really think you are in danger of being shot by the cops, and that you need a body guard with you....then reevaluate your life choices. I hope you are going to pay that bodyguard to lock you in your own house every night so you avoid going out and making an idiot of yourself. These same friends that are "standing up for you" now, are the ones that will be asking you to pay their rent once the paychecks start coming in. The last thing we need on this team is a punk who gets in trouble and then wants to become AZ's newest professional victim. Shut up and play or good riddance. I'm right there with you, the race card has been overplayed so much for so long it has the opposite effect of that which intended. And I think that's the case for many more people than is evident, lots of people are simply terrified of being labeled xenophobe they play along with the theater of the race hustlers. And for anyone saying "hey, he was just being a kid!" I'd ask you to think about how you'd feel after getting back to your car after watching a golf tournament and finding a broken window. I would be mighty pissed. I get mighty pissed when people explain away property crime, it's nonsense. So now we have a {likely} criminal in the house, let's see if one or more coaches / players can get to him and get his head screwed on nice and tight. There's another guy on the squad who did some "dumb kid stuff" before he hit the NFL. His name is Nkemdiche. Look Im not going to get into a whole thing on these boards. There are people, in certain parts of the country, who are usually involved or around certain activities routinely, who might have a legitimate fear of an incident with the police getting out of hand. (Mostly because those people are involved in illegal activity and get scared about being caught)...but that is not even really my point. Christian Kirk is not one of those people. People have been hyping this kid up in the valley for years. Even as a high schooler, he was all over local sports. His recruitment to ASU was big news, as was the case when he went to A&M. He has not only been treated well here in the valley, he has had opportunities that people without his athletic ability would have never had. What angers me about that ridiculous twitter post is the fact that nowhere does it acknowledge that if Kirk had not gotten drunk and acted like and punk vandal with his friends, then there would have not been an incident. It is 100% his fault, and it seems very obvious that they know this....and so they are trying to run interference by claiming that the cop that arrested him was xenophobe. That kind of crap is shameful, slanderous, and should be called out by the public at every turn. There is ZERO evidence that that cop did anything wrong, or treated Kirk differently that he would have treated any other drunk and disorderly punk who he was busting. When I first heard about this story, I thought " move, but not a big deal". I would have still thought that, until I read that twitter post calling our Darren Urban for reporting the news. No accountability, no admittance of wrong doing, no acknowledgement that Kirk was doing something he should be embarrassed about, and should own up to and learn from his mistakes. Instead, its trying to paint the picture that Kirk is some kind of victim, which I find disgusting. If it is true that Kirk is now lying to himself and believing that "his freedoms have been taken away, and he needs a bodyguard with him at all times", then this kid is already a lost cause. Everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone tries to cover their mistakes up by throwing out the race card and a made up victim story. I find that very hard to root for. Kirk should have come out right away and said, 'I got drunk at the Open. My friends and I were acting ...it was a very dumb thing to do. I wasn't thinking straight, and I threw a rock at a car...which looking back I am so embarrassed about. That is someone else's car, and for me to just randomly disrespect a stranger like that is really immature and I'm sorry. I have already written a letter of apology to that person and let them know that I would be covering the cost of repairing the damage I did". He makes a statement like that, and this is a non-story and all worries about the kid are gone. Instead...we get the professional victim. I am more than a little worried that we drafted a spoiled, Scottsdale punk who thinks his crap doesn't stink in this town. He better put up some monster numbers if he wants people to tolerate that kind of attitude. If he is average, he will be gone soon.

It's on like Donkey Kong, ok it's feeling like home Not really. New forum, new aspect, new level of respect needed, and the need to set the ground rules. The old forum was way too hostile with the name calling. Can't keep good discussions going when you get called a derogatory name for voicing your opinion now can you? Back On Topic, This is a serious situation Kirk has placed himself in. He does need to man up and stand tall. He has to humble himself and do what is right. Otherwise....he does not fit the "DNA" the organization says it wants to foster for the Team. Time will sort this out. Hopefully for the good of all concerned. But All the facts need to be presented before judgement is made. There is a saying that all your wrong doing will eventually be shouted from the roof tops.

So true with the old forum. If you voiced a criticism of the Cards you were attacked by Joseph. I hope the Mods straighten the old guy out on here. If Kirk hires an attorney and plays the race card I hope the Cards cut him. But I'm guessing they wont since they knew of the incident before hand and despite wanting to draft "good characters" went ahead with the selection. Michael Floyd had one incident in college and people on here were giving the same excuses.

I really hope drugs aren't involved, and I also hope that this guy coming home doesn't ruin him.

This is whole thing is very troubling to me. I don't know about all the other things that's been brought up. Its the fact that even if he threw no rocks, the group he was with did. In my youth I did a little drinking and done some things that I'm not proud of, but it never occurred to me to throw rocks at cars nor did the people I ran with. He's hanging with the wrong crowd.
Whatever occurred, he should admit it all and make no excuses or try to fight it.
I hoping this woke him up.....but we'll see.

For those commenting on the tweet, it’s emotional and angry from someone close to Christian so I’ll let it slide. The twitter poster is Kendra Stabler, Daughter of Raiders HOF’er Ken Stabler, and a close family friend of the Kirks.
Read her Twitter for more info. She’s saying it was wrong place wrong time and truth will come out.

Hopefully a little bit of mentorship from Larry will help him get his act together.

Given that he's a millionaire now, I'm sure he's paying out of pocket for some of that help. Ms. Stabler saying it was wrong time and wrong place? That's simply his family friends encouraging Christian to dodge adult-level responsibility and accountability. That dog don't hunt now. Christian should consider investing in a certified therapist and public relations experts. This juvenile issue won't go away until Christian makes it go away by first owning the behavior -- his lawyer will say the same.

Kendra is not helping things by playing the race card it has absolutely nothing to do with the color of ones skin.

Yes, but she didn't get off the phone with the Kirks, or sit in their kitchen and discuss this incident, and then walk out and tweet something 180 degrees different from what was being said. What I'm saying is, she didn't hear the Kirks saying "Yea, Christian really messed up. He got drunk and he and his idiot friends started trouble. He got arrested for it, and we are worried about telling this story to NFL teams because its so immature and off putting. Christian is really going to have to show some maturity and let them know these things won't happen again". .....and then decide to tweet what she did. Sounds like everyone in Kirk's camp is in excuse mode. Everything from the cop was xenophobe, to the car he threw rocks at was already beat up, to throwing his own friend over the bus (the white kid had his charges dropped). Never so much as a "Christian made a mistake", or "he put himself in a bad situation", or "he acted inappropriately". To me, the reaction from Kirk's people, and calling out Daren Urban for reporting on it...is 10X more worrisome for the future than the actual incident itself. A guy that is really a "high character guy", like Kirk has been described, doesn't have a team of idiots waiting to excuse and defend his mistakes and allow him to avoid all accountability.

The fact that the arresting officer decided to give his opinion on him using coke is not a good reflection on the officer. Who asked his opinion and why is it made public? The incident doesn't smell right all the way around. There is nothing to indicate this young man not a 12 year old kid would have done something this before the draft. I'll wait to see if he is convicted or charges are dropped before buying the story.

But I don't like the overall tone of this story and what he did. So far just a bunch of excuses from his camp. Remember the Cardinals choose to ignore the one small "incident" Floyd had in college. Also with Nkimuseless. They EMPHASIZED character before the draft and then draft a guy they knew throws rocks at cars while impaired one month before the biggest moment in his life. All this can indeed be forgotten if he learns from it. But I say one more incident and cut ties from him.
