That's not good... Shipleys strength is that he stays on the field. Wilks has been praising him lately too. Hopefully Mason Cole can do a solid job if needed.

32-yo AQ Shipley hasn't missed a regular season game in over 2 years. I hope his injury isn't serious. His experience is worth something.

From ESPN: "There was no post-practice coach availability and the team has Sunday off, so the extent of the injury might not be publicly known until the team resumes training camp on Monday."

This is just my perspective, but when I saw the video of him being carted off, he had his towel covering his whole face maybe trying to hide his emotions of bad news. I hope though I’m wrong and just looking more into it than it is.

I didn't like seeing him with the towel over his face, either. I hope it's better than that looked.

I hate injuries of any players. This may force management to actually improve the position. I wish Shipley a speedy recovery so he can resume his career as a quality backup.

I saw him throw his helmet to the ground as he was rolling around. It didn't look good. Assuming it is bad, there is Cole and Boehm. I am confused about Boehm. They say he is strong and physical with a bit of a nasty streak. Last year at guard, he struggled. They said that was because his natural position was center. Now, he isn't even considered as a possible replacement for AQ? I begin to wonder if Boehm isn't smart enough to be a center and too immobile to be a guard? If that is the case, then why is he still here? Just hope Cole can get it done.

For what its worth, Mason Cole has looked really good in the practices ive been to. I dare say he might be OK as our starting Center
banish the thought of Boehm from your minds. He'll be amongst final cuts. Hes not an NFL player. Its fine. Busts happen.

All signs are pointing to Cole.. Critics say he needs to add some muscle.. He's gonna get a really good test twice this season when he plays the Rams.

Call to Brian Schwenke, Center (Titans) who is age 27 -- wonder if Alex Boone ever played center as he is available and knows his fellow lineman.
P.S. Piece of good news -- Coach Wilks on 98.7 just singled out Nkemdiche as someone who has put together a string of very good practices and his play is much more consistent. He also pointed out the defense speed including "# 90" is really doing a great job of penetrating the gaps.
