Whats unfortunate is this will be the 1st time the entire teams (vets and rooks) will be together this year. Meaning...there will probably be a meeting week 1....about Keim. Bad way to start the new season. How are rooks suppose to sit there and hear their GM just got his 2nd extreme DUI, and then be told to conduct themselves as professionals? easy...sk screwed up, he was punished-rookies can be told :if you screw up you will be punished also. the sk mess shouldn't make the rookies think its ok for them to screw up-they should concentrate on making the roster. every year the nfl along with former players hold meetings with rookies warning them about any off field issues and every year there are a few rookies who don't pay attention. More like "if you screw up, youll get a slap on the wrist". Which isnt true. As you said, former players tell the rooks if you screw up, youll pay dearly. Only GMs get slaps on the wrist. Theres just no way around it. Keeping Keim completely undermines the integrity and authority of this teams leadership. He cant tell those players a damn thing about staying out trouble going forward. I actually read a very interesting article in the AZ Republic today mentioning how deputy GM Mcdonough (who was a finalist for the 9ers GM job) will be interim GM...if he does well, who knows, maybe theyll fire Keim after all. Very interesting.

Maybe they don't bother to list additional titles or responsibilities... or understudies. Or perhaps that title magically was applied after The Incident.
We shall see what develops.

See how that works...

Very interesting. Rookies, unlike SK don't have a record of performance. SK retains his job because he has a track record that the owner weighed against his behavior. He also has a relationship with the organization. If a player like SK had just gotten extended with a bonus the team would have likely treated him the same way. 1 or 2 games and 1 or 2 paychecks. There's a difference between someone with a track record and someone who is essentially trying out for a job.

Yes it did. Im not sure thats his official title within the Cards org (Hes actually the VP of player personnel), but I think "Deputy GM" is essentially his function. He is definitely #2. Remember Jason Licht was #2 as well, "Deputy GM". and he went on to become a GM just like Mcdonough almost did this summer.

Cards have signed linebacker Arhur Moats former Bill (I think) and Steeler. Supposed to be perfect at Mike LB. Good for depth and special teams.
Mike Mitchell former Carolina Safety also doing a physical today. Not a huge fan of his as he is dirty and hasn’t done anything in years. They must have some concerns about safety to be looking at him.

And we Signed Tre Boston the safety from the Chargers instead. Love that signing much more than the thought of Mitchell.
In 2017 Boston started 15 games at free safety for the Chargers, recording career-highs of 79 tackles, eight passes defensed, and five interceptions.

What’s up with the training camp schedule. I’m watching all these teams starting camp today on the NFL network and we don’t start until Saturday. What’s up with that? Dang!!! 🙁
