I'd be very sorry to see us lose Dogbe, which is a possibility here. The FO have had a lot of positive things to say about him recently. Blackson could be considered as the 'now', whilst Dogbe the 'future'. - This is a ruthless business, but there is little doubt that the Cardinals are going all in to WIN this season.
I was just thinking about this. They do seem to be gong all out to win now. I'm not saying its a bad thing, but it does worry me a little. Are we really at that point were you go all in? I think its fair to say this is only year two of a rebuild. The things we do now and if its too soon will affect us for years to come. I do agree, times is short. We need to win now while KM salary is cheap. After that, everything will get much harder.

That might be the 'logical thing', but alas logic does not apply here. As Boomer has said the player wished to leave Houston because they wouldn't or couldn't pay him what he wanted and what he believed he was worth. Hopkins came here on the understanding that he would get a big upgrade/ extension in terms and now not honoring this would sour the relationship before it even got started. So, once the ink was dry on the transfer paperwork then he needed to be paid. When it comes to the business side of football logic & reason should rule the day not emotion. It’s not a small unknown but a BIG unknown how the 2021 cap will change & could put us in cap hell for yrs to come. All other major sports viewership is down quite a bit & I don’t think the NFL will be any different... Having him play the 2020 season is not unreasonable when there is 3 yrs left on his deal. Look what happened when we extended honey badger and David Johnson let’s not make those mistakes again. If that's the case then to be logical they would have had to never make the trade. Trading and then doing the same thing as Houston would be the most illogical choice of all.

Only 17 players claimed on waivers and none were from those we released. So we can stash the strong ones on practice squad and block 4 of them soon from going anywhere. It will basically be like having a squad of 57 players, only 4 of them won't be earning top dollar. This new process is going to be hard to give up after COVID wanes. I always thought dressing more guys was the right thing to do. Injuries cripple aspiring teams and average teams seem to have heavenly protection.

Hopkins is going to make a bunch of Cardinals fans very happy for at least a couple years. This big Hopkins' contract extension is an investment in the team's future. Kyler Murray.

Bidwill likely told Keim to hit the gas now. KM's cost is a matter that will be discussed after this year. If Kyler takes the team to the promised land, that new contract could happen as soon as 2021. Buckle up. I'm expecting his next contract cost to be $35M-$40M per year. That's the going rate for the top 3 QBs now. There does not seem to be a sanity ceiling on QB salaries anymore.

When we traded for D-hop the kungflu was just getting started & no one expected it was to become a pandemic . Plus social issues became a forefront issue on the national stage. It’s the timing of the contract extension I have an issue with.

Welcome home Michael! - A very good prospect to have on the PS and lets hope we can keep hold of him. www.si.com/nfl/cardinals/news/michael-dogbe-signed-practice-squadThat gives up the 'BCD' as DL back-up (Messrs. Bullard, Coley and Dogbe). Not sure who has been jettisoned to make room for Dogbe? EDIT: We had one space available, hence no-one has gone.

Nobody. Cantrell was cut earlier, leaving room.

www.al.com/sports/2020/09/angelo-blackson-makes-quick-return-to-the-nfl.htmlHouston cuts then loses another starter to Arizona. DL Blackson signing is a great move by Keim. Blackson's cost is minimal, a 1-year contract. DL Dogbe released from PS though. Blackson has good size, speed, and experience. Plays healthy year-round. Earned player of the week honors last year. Loves to disrupt the Offense. He does not just stand around.
