Rams are dummies giving that kind of money. But they are going for it NOW and dealing with a bad cap later.
As for DJ he has zero leverage. He forfeits one year of UFA if he continued to hold out past a certain point.
Cards should just let it all play out unless he wants to give them a team friendly/cap friendly offer that benefits both sides.
I know many are yelling "pay him" and then the same ones will be crying when we have no cap space.

Regarding the rams being dummies, what they have done is set the new number for top shelf RB’s throughout the league. I’m guessing that the rams FO isn’t really popular with other teams around the league. All the teams want to keep the max number down for every position. And any team that significantly sets the bar higher, effects every other team. It’s better that the rams moved the bar higher than the Cardinals being the FO that did. That’s one of the concerns that the Steelers had. Most teams that have had the same ownership groups for say at least 20 years, don’t want to set a significantly higher bar. It’s something that teams shouldn’t discuss, it’s colusion. That’s a big no no.. The rams new owner doesn’t care, he has all the money in the world..He also has a 2 billion dollar stadium under construction. It’s more important to him to sell seats in that new stadium. It’s a lot easier to do with a playoff team.

If they win the super bowl in the next two years it will be worth it. Most franchises cant maintain any longevity anymore anyway with the cap. Gurley is 23. DJ is 27. Gurley was a high draft pick DJ wasnt. That's just the way the NFL is set up. If DJ wants to be "paid" then he must give the cards something back in terms of more years less money then he would gain from UFA. Otherwise he can wait three more years to do so. The Cards hold all the cards here.

You are all right, ok. Lol I think that’s my 4th flip/flop, business is business. Bringing in Boston had to eat up a good bit of the cap space available I still enjoy the ability to talk to other cardinal fans.. Thanks!
