Interesting that I was thinking about the two starting QBs today. Smith and Bradford are highly experienced QBs and both should excel in game one. But both are also historic underachievers, with Bradford more so in a stats/stats comparison.
I give the Win to the Cardinals at home. The Cardinals defense will master the Redskins offense. I don't see the Redskins offense mastering the Cardinals defense. 28-14.

I really think this first game may be more important than other years first game. We have a new coaching staff. If we can pull off a win in the first game, that will go a long way in building confidence from the players point of view. They need to know this new coach knows how to win.
Win game one and knows what this could snowball into.
Go Cardinals

look for skins to load box against run...as Bradford is faced with many 2nd and 3rd and longs his true colors will be displayed as he demonstrates the "chuck n duck" as skins pass rush dominates cards ol.

Is Westgate on here? I'm hoping he'll continue his gameday threads. He puts a lot of work into them

The Redskins have not won a season opener since 2012... is that a good sign or a bad one?

The first Cardinals game I can remember seeing on UK TV was against the Skins. Mid 80s. And I think the Cards won it. (I've got the DVD somewhere, perhaps I should try and dig it out) So hopefully, more of the same.

I had BETA for a while, until the skin industry killed off BETA with the far cheaper VHS format. DVDs came along much later. Surprised that a WASH / CARDS game was on the UK TV back then. Also probably the first NFL game for most islanders.
Skin's were at the top of the NFL royalty back in the 80s. Not much noise ever heard from the 80s Cards. Those were dull years right after the move. Still, a win is a win .

If we don't beat the Skins at home, it's going to be a long season. That game will set the tone for the season. Loose and your looking at 4 to 7 wins. Win and your looking at 8 to 10 wins. Still don't see this team making the play offs. Too many areas that need improvement. Both starters and back ups. Need at least 2 more great drafts. Rosen getting his reps in this year and next year. Then in 2020 we should be ready to fight for a super bowl.

I'm watching the Skins TC on this side of the 48. No surprises here with Smith settling in and the usual new faces. No injuries to key guys so far. Overall, expectations are high at Redskins TC. This team will be prepared when they arrive at UofP in Sep.

This season has that feel of surprise to it. It would be incredible if this team just went off and became the talk of the town by winning 10 games this season. This game is as close to a must win as any because it sets the tone. Hopefully the Cards defensive line will win the battle up front vs. Washington's o-line. That seems like the key to this game especially if it's a low scoring 20-17 type game. I like the Cards to score a field goal late and pull out out a W.

Redskins have a really good front 7.
It could be a longgggg day for Bradford if the OL looks like it did last season.
