You forget his 1st game as a Cardinal. Every fan, Tampa Bay and the Russians on the space station all knew he was getting the ball, all day. What'd he do? 150 and 2 TDs. Just because someone is a 1 trick pony doesnt mean they are easily beat. AP is a HOF RB. Still very powerful. Still fast. With our crappy DL and lost Reddick and small Bucannon, I can see AP bulldozing us. Tampa Bay had the 32nd ranked D in the league last year. Palmer threw for 3 TD's, went 18 for 22 with 283 yards. The following week against the Rams he had 11 carries for 21 yards and missed the block that got Palmer killed. If our D is any good they should be able to stop the run with a loaded box. With AP in the game Washington losses a blocker and potential safety valve in the passing game. If he can't move the chains against a good D they will have to take him off the field. The concern is our D. I said so in my last post. Reddick is completely lost out there. Bucc is always going to be small. Most importantly, our DL is sub par. Nkemdiche vs HOF Adrian Peterson, ill take AP all day. I can very easily see this going the same as the Tampa game. AP runs all over us and we can do nothing to stop him. Not to mention they have Alex Smith at QB. Hes no superstar, but hes dangerous enough to beat you with checkdowns.

If Reddick was a second day pick he would have been fighting for a special teams spot to keep from being an outright cut. D Buck is small but he's tough as nails and knows how to shed blocks. The question is can he hold up behind a line that potential can't protect him? I suspect he's going to get nicked up pretty good. They are going to have to stand up AP before he gets going. If they can't do it with a staked box it could be a long day. They need Nkemdiche to actually play a full game and play well. I have no idea if that's even possible? Bueller?

lol…..looking at the poll....where are all the Debbie Downers. Not complaining mind you, its just not what I expected.
It looks like most are onboard for a least decent season. It may not happen but its good to see we are all hopeful.....
Go Cards....

I was leaning toward Skins all summer, but changed my mind thinking today that our run game and D could be enough, as long as we can show some kind of pass game in 1St quarter.

I'm still sitting on Cards winning by 8 points, 15-23. I don't see a big scoring contest happening. Neither side has that many offensive weapons. The two starting QBs are the main actors on Offense. The Defenses will try to take away the #1 WR and RB threats and then let the also-ran's try to score. Defenses will work very hard to get turnovers -- in that regard, the Cardinals excelled in PS games 1, 2, and 3 (+16!). Due to mediocre Offenses, the field goal kickers will have good Sundays. HCs will make mostly conservative play calls, run the ball more than usual, avoid high risk 3rd down passing situations, and work to control the clock.

Our run game with Dividend is way better than the Skin's run game behind AP. QB's are offsets of each other.
Whose D is really better at this time of the season?

Preseason Washington was -4 in turnovers, 3 for, 7 against. We were an incredible +16. Just luck? Or scheme plus talent? To be fair, I don’t think Smith was responsible for any of their turnovers.

I'm not sure that isn't a big plus for us. When AP is in the game it severely limits the Washington O. He can't block or catch a pass out of the backfield. Smith is a pretty mobile QB so that may not matter as much as it would with a pure pocket passer like Bradford or Palmer. AP has been found out. If it's their bigs against ours and they consistently win that battle, it's going to be a long year. You forget his 1st game as a Cardinal. Every fan, Tampa Bay and the Russians on the space station all knew he was getting the ball, all day. What'd he do? 150 and 2 TDs. I've gotten the past two seasons openers correct. I had NE beating us minus Brady and I had the Lions beating us last year.
This year I got us beating the Skins at home. We have the 7th best home record in the NFL the past 10 years. The Skins are a bottom 10 team.
They should have some improvement in their run defense. But I still see DJ having a big game. I think Seals-Jones becomes a big weapon.
Our D will easily stop AP and that should contain Captain checkdown.

How does a player's past dictate what they are going to do on Sunday? Should the Cardinals sign Michael Irvin and Troy Aikman to the roster since they are all-time greats? That is basically what you are saying right now.

Yeah I was wondering why Cards didnt sign Peyton Manning this offseason. So disrespectful to one of the greatest QBs in NFL history. turrible, just turrible

Looks like you're getting killed (once again) so I wont add to the ridiculousness of that statement. The one part of the post that was spot on was I am indeed one of those "what have you done for me lately" type "turds".
