chances are keim is already enrolled in the classes the court is going to require him to take anyway. being proactive shows judges you are try to find a solution and taking it seriously. chances are he gets hit with a stiff fine, community service you can bet the cards were going to require of him any way, serve one day in jail and have 9 days suspended. if he gets arrested again tho he will have to serve the 9 days even if he posts bail. the time spent doing pr stuff will far outweigh the time he actually spends in jail. I doubt he'll be fired, I suspect he and mb have become personal friends over the years and the cards to give second chances. look at honeybadger. he'll get a prove it deal imo. and he'll have one of those blow in it 1st ignitions so getting a 2nd dui should be tough. he may even hire a driver and give up driving for a year or two after his wife has to deal with blowing every time to get the car to star which will be embarrassing every time she is giving someone a ride. keim may even do his community service by giving don't drink and drive speeches at school but he should keep the speeches very short because there is gonna be a lot of time post speech needed to explain why he is blowing in his dash.
his real punishment is going to be getting embarrassed on a daily basis from now on. but if he doesn't deal with it in a positive way it will lead to him losing his job. he better not blow his second chance. I doubt mb is waiting for the courts or the nfl, he is already laying down the law with kiem. and keim has to accept all the conditions or walk.

Why are you shouting at me? I didn't give SK a drink.
And we need more info before we All go off the rails over this one.
There is an old saying, "you play in the devils's backyard you not only get dirty but you get Burned as well..." Regret any suggestion that I was shouting at anyone. Not my style.
No shout that I can sense in any of your original post - just an undue reaction.
If what you said was enough to cause umbrage, then perhaps it is he who should not play in this little playground which is far, far from being devilish. Impish at times, maybe... but overall very benign.

Hey! Maybe SK was on his earned vacation that week. Meaning not "on duty", so to speak. It would explain no action with DJ's holdout.
I know, it still would reflect on the organization even if true, but still . . . maybe on his own time, not the Cards, and acting like many vacationers? (stupidly)
Hint hint, MB.

The biggest issue with Keim doing this is knowing he or the organization for that matter has less credibility disciplining bad behavior.
They are going to have to go with the mantra "everyone makes a mistake.".

It is very important but that of very simple: 1. If you drink don't drive 2. If you drive don't drink 3. Get a designated driver 4. Call a cab/Uber/Lyft, etc 5. Or on that of a friend or family member.

Sigh.
I'm at a crossroads here.
Keim and company made a great move by hiring Wilks and trading up to get Josh Rosen(which are the two moves I wanted).
Yet, he's dumb enough to drink and drive.
I guess it comes down to(and I hate to try to find grey areas regarding drinking and driving)
Did he come across a check point, blew too high(after having 3-4 beers) and got arrested
or
Was he driving erratically and got stopped?(i'm assuming this one).
I'm sorry to say,but anybody who is dumb enough to drink(to the point where they are incapable of driving safe) and drive, shouldn't be a GM of this team. If the cops pulled him over because of erratic driving, I'm sad to say, okay with firing him.
I don't get why people make such bad decisions. Why do you even put yourself in a position to make such bad decisions? I've been drunk a decent amount of times, but I've never let myself get to the point where I make absolutely boneheaded decisions.

It was at a July 4th checkpoint -- he was not pulled over for driving erratically nor a fender bender. From an article I read it wasn't for extreme DUI, which means he blew between a .08 -.14 to be cited for DUI.

Something that snuck into my brain this morning that I think is a valid question:
Whats a 47 year old married man with 5 kids doing out drinking on a Wednesday past mid-night?
Theres really no good answer. Its 4th of July? Yeah so why isnt he home with his kids playing with sparklers? The number of times my dad came home drunk at 1am in my life: zero. And nor will I ever.
I think Keim might secretly be a fat drunk and he just finally got caught

Attack that which you are to throw off any suspicion from yourself. I remember not long ago that extreme anti-gay Christian Republican Congressman resigned after getting caught in his office with another dude Just a theory, but its a strong one: A married man with 5 kids drunk at 1am on a Wednesday. Thats very unusual for most families. Unless its normal in the Keim household...in which hes a fat drunk.

It would be just as easy to argue that after the kids are put to bed that evening, he tells his wife he's "going out with the guys" for a late-night bar run. This isn't just some random middle-of-the-week binge; its a holiday and its the middle of the vacation weeks in the NFL. Of course, your theory could be spot on, but we don't know the exact circumstances yet. But lets give him a tiny bit of credit where we can.

The fact it was 4th of July is the only thing thats saving him right now. Otherwise if it was just a random Wednesday, he'd be dead to rights a lush and fired. **I will say that although it being 4th of July helps his argument a little...it doesnt help it much. What is he a frat boy? What middle aged father goes and gets plastered alone on 4th of July? You know who gets excited for 4th of July and Cinco de mayo? Drunks. The plot thickens.

Why do you have to take everything to the extreme Zaz before you have all the evidence? You do seem to have the propensity for the "deep dive" into subjects like this before you know all the facts. And yes you are very opinionated and have no problem sharing them as well. Disclaimer: Which is your privilege as a member of this Message board.

The evidence is the details: 47 year old married man with 5 kids out drunk at 1am on a Wednesday. Thats very unusual. Which makes me wonder if its common, which is also a valid question. Only his wife knows.
