This was STeve Keim's statement following the charges:
truly regret my incredibly poor judgment and inexcusable actions," said Keim in the statement. "Everyone associated with the NFL and its teams is held to a high standard of behavior and I obviously failed to meet that. I sincerely apologize to our organization and its fans as well as to my family.
Now does this sound like a guy who did nothing wrong? Does this sound like a guy who is being framed by the cops?
No it sounds like a guy who knows he was drinking and driving and tried to avoid it by refusing the breathalyzer. What's incredulous is all the apologists that we see for him.
And Bidwill seemed very ready to offer his consequences for the matter on hand:
Bidwill told radio station KFYI on Tuesday that Keim made an "enormous mistake," referring to the general manager's arrest on charges of driving under the influence in Chandler, Ariz., on Wednesday.
"First of all, I'm extremely disappointed," said Bidwill. "It's inexcusable. He did bring it to our attention right away that night and has been extremely remorseful and contrite. He's taken steps to make things right, but the reality is that there is a process in place that the league has and there are going to be consequences here."
This is not a guy who had "two beers and pizza".

No there should be some consequences but at the same time throwing the book at him would be ridiculous as well. That is the point here, Two things here matter the most he broke the law no matter the amount in his system. The best part of this no one got hurt. Now if he did this and someone got hurt then what he did would and should be escalated. You can't avoid taking the alcohol level test once they arrest you, it don't take long to get the search warrant from the courts to compel you to take the test once arrested.

So many of you Keim fans keep saying "His 1st DUI was 22 years ago" as if that means it doesnt count. Yeah and his 2nd one was 2 weeks ago. Most people who live into their 90s have gone a near century without getting 1. Keim has gotten 2 in half that time. but context matters too How so? If you drink booze, dont drive. The day on the calendar is irrelevant. Id say theres almost no context. This is a very black/white issue. Still waiting on his BAC, but if its over .08 then nothing else matters. And you want to talk about context? He's 6'4 300 pounds. To get over .08 he had to drink alot.

Thats a common counter argument for people who think DUIs are no big deal (not saying you do). Heres the equivalent of that: I shot 40 rounds into the air. Nobody got hurt. Whats the big deal? If the only thing preventing you from killing someone is luck, then Im completely in support of charging you with as serious charges as possible. Thats unbelievable recklessness and dangerous mentality.

Please study effects of alcohol when you drive. It IMPAIRS you. And driving impaired gets people KILLED or seriously injured. It's such common knowledge that it's simply inexcusable. Don't act like a trained police officer watching cam footage of following the vehicle. The only way you would be able to see if he was impaired would be if he ran into someone's house. It's subtle but it's enough to get people killed.

It's subtle but it's enough to get people killed. I by no means was making light of the fact. I understand that Steve Keim confessed to the DUI and apologized for it. I am sure there are other occasions that he was driving DUI where he didn't get caught. That being said should the punishment render firing or resignation? On the other hand should there be no punishment by the Cardinals? My answer to both of those questions is it doesn't render firing or resignation nor should there not be some sort of punishment handed down by the Cardinals organization. Grant it the NFL is going to issue a suspension and/or fines. I think the Cardinals should also suspend Steve Keim for additional time and/or fine him additional monies in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement. I think that fine should be donated to some chartible organization.
