We could draft a QB this year, and just let the kid sit behind Murray for a year so the kid isn't rushed, but this isn't a great QB year. I'm a fan of this strategy generally, although in practice it's easier for a team (to justify) who is sat at the back end of the first round; they invariably don't have holes aplenty (in the wider roster) that are desperate to be filled. Unfortunately, the Cardinals are not in that luxury position at the moment, so the strategy is going to be hard sell. If the FO have scouted a 'gem' and Monti decides to take 'the long view', then so be it and I could get behind. Honestly, I think our best hope is going to be trading back into the late first this next year and using our second pick on a QB. This would fit in with the first para., above. I think if we end up picking middle of the pack, rather than (say) mid-20's, then a Trade Down is a more likely option. We know that Monti has been open to trading in the past (if he feels it works to our advantage) and I expect he will be alert to opportunities this time around. If we are contemplating taking a Quarterback in Round 2, then it will have to be for someone special. 2026 is going to be the next solid QB crop A top-ranked Quarterback in the 2026 draft just feels much more in sync with things here in Arizona. Assuming Kyler Murray is our principle QB through the 2025 season, then it will be clear to all (at the end of the 2025 campaign) where we are going with him and what the future holds. Also, the abilities of Clayton Tune will be known (certainly by the FO); hence an appropriate investment can be made in the position. - This would be my favored route. Or on the off chance the LT from Texas is there, I take him, slide Paris to RT, then move our current RT to guard. If we did that we'd likely have a top-5 OL by 2026. I wouldn't like to predict at this stage whether Kelvin Banks Jr is realistic. However, shifting Paris Johnson back to RT I don't really see happening. - However, I am not convinced on Jonah Williams as our long-term starting RT* and as I have posted before feel he could be moved inside. - Looking back, I liked it when Justin Pugh played for us a Left Guard. No, he wasn't a world beater, but he used his experience to help lead and gel the O-Line and we were a more cohesive unit because of it. I am thinking that Jonah Williams might be able to perform similar to Pugh and I believe LG is the ideal spot along the line for such an experienced campaigner. Also, being next to Johnson in the line would have the bonus of steading the left hand side and helping his younger colleague. I cannot get the idea out of my head; hence I am still thinking Right Tackle could be a good way to go. There appears to be no stand-out candidate (first-round quality), but I suspect some good options will be there on Day 2. * I've just read a couple of past draft reviews of Jonah and each one questioned his physical stature to play Tackle in the NFL, in particular his shorter arms. Off-topic, but for the remainder of this season I would switch Jonah Williams to LG and have Beachum at RT. Let's give it a try and see what happens.

This a bad year for QB's. Instead, we should continue to build and develop the offensive line. I would also draft another WR and thick/power RB. Any QB you ultimately draft will need to be protect. A young QB will develop faster if you provide him with a supporting cast.
Tyler Booker, OG out of Alabama is exactly what you want. He is healthy, physical, proven and played against great competition in college. Was a 5 star recruit out of high school...beef up the interior of the offensive line. I'm in favor of either a guard like him or a DT in Tyleik Williams out of Ohio St.
Again, we need to stop getting cute and draft the players when they are there. We should have drafted Cooper DeJean instead of trying to get cute and trading down and getting Melton....that was a very Steve Keim-like move. DeJean has a 79 PFF with an 80 coverage score. Max Melton has an overall PFF score of 52 with a coverage grade of 54. I'm hopeful our front office learned their lesson

Skattebo could be your power back. James Conner clone just a little slower maybe.

Skattebo with a 2nd to 3rd round draft grade. Maybe a little early with the benson investment last year.

Kyler has yet to win a game with playoff implications. He can't handle the pressure and disappears in big games. Fingers crossed for Arizona he comes back with authority. No denying this. Kyler needs to prove his mettle in big games. Well......it would be just like him next game to look like an MVP type candidate and get people all excited only to then later turnaround and deliver yet another head scratcher of a performance.

Pretty sure I saw it on espn Australia. To be fair though those guys are terrible to listen to. Sam acho the ex cardinals end isn’t up to scratch. I’d definitely take a flyer on cam on the third day though.

If we draft him I’ll fly over for his first game and have a beer with you!

Easy for me to say, since it's not my millions, but I'd like to see us run through the fire on the KM deal. We have the building blocks in place to be a good team in a year or two, dump KM now, play whomever we have or acquire for quarterbacks, draft well in 2025, move ahead.

You all know I've decided about this thread and the poll. I am not a ditherer. I gather information, assess the data, and decide. The job is as easy as counting: 1, 2, 3.
The most challenging question to answer about our prized #1 QB, Kyler Murray: Is he a winner? Yes or No?
It is an easy question. It doesn't take guts to answer. Assess the data. What does the data say? He is not a winner.
Muddying things with contract concerns, a replacement QB, and various rankings, honors, and awards earned distracts from the core need for a championship team. The QB must be a winner. >.500 is the low bar.
