I knew I should have kept my feelings about the team to myself lol. Oh well I was confident this team was better then it was but I was clearly wrong. Time to start the scouting for the next Qb clearly the game is too big for Kyler. That rookie made kyler look pretty bad today. Kyler gets behind and he just melts down. Just not a leader nor an nfl caliber Qb. This staff didn't prepare for this and they have someone at backup that will never reach kylers level. This looks bad on the front office and the coaches. They pushed their chips all in on kyler and since you hiched your wagon to kyler you need to share in his fate. You had a chance for a backup plan and passed on it, it's not just on KM . That is why I went all in on the Harrison because I knew we were not gonna take a Qb. That is on me for getting suckered and taking the bait. I am over it I hope the best for all of the coaches and KM but at this point I am ok for cleaning house once again. New Qb and new staff sure I like the coaches but them and Monti are all responsible for going all in on KM now you are gonna pay for that decision. My worst nightmare is clearly in view once we passed on Qb.

If more games like this one are on the way, you might can add head coach to that watch.

You are right for thinking this. Kyler Murray's height impacts the game. The coaches can't call plays behind center. We can't run behind center. We can't throw behind center. It limits your coaching staff and the game plan. Kyler is an amazing athlete and is a good QB but he size unfortunately limits him. Kyler receives more criticism than he should. I'm not a Kyler hater like many on here. At the same time, we need another QB if we want to compete.
Georgia QB: Carson Beck, 6'4 220 lbs. That's the guy we want

To be fair Caleb Williams went 1st and isn’t starting well. Daniels was my guy but of course he went 2nd. Bo Nix is the only other guy playing and he hasn’t looked like anything but a second round rookie which is the highest I would have taken him. Maye has 22 yards on 8 pass attempts in garbage time, and he went #3. Daniels was the one guy I said we should take a shot at with our late first rounder, back when he was being talked about as a second round QB, but then he quickly climbed to where he wasn’t an option for us. Even if we had been able to draft him with our late 1st, my plan was to have him as a backup to Kyler (similar styles) in 2024 and then compete with each other as QB1 in 2025, and then trade the other.
Our problems are wayyyy beyond Kyler right now. Our defense makes it hard for any QB. Swiss cheese. Worst thing is they seemed to keep the fight last season and early this season when losing. Today the team gave up. Danger of sliding backwards in culture.

I personally have always tried to give him benefit of the doubt, but he seems to only have flashpoints of outstanding display before hitting that wall that sets him (and the offense) back. I'm not convinced his height is the major issue, I think it comes down to his inconsistency in reading what's coming at him and executing. I'm still reflecting on when we went for it on 4th and 1 before the close of the 2nd quarter when he had an open guy coming out of the backfield that he could have dropped the ball off to for the needed one yard. I couldn't tell from the replay camera angle who it was signaling that he was open. It reminded me of when MHJ was open for a sure touchdown during the Buffalo game.

Forum brethren, It's time for me to admit the Murray nay-sayers are probably right. His height has impacted the way he plays QB at this level. It affects his reads and decisions and Murray was exploited by both Quinn today and Campbell last week.
Kyler too skittish under pressure. I'm open to a change. 50 mil per year for todays performance is unacceptable.

The writing was always in the wall tho. Kyler always faded when pressured. Looked fantastic when we were rolling.
That's not the type of QB u build a franchise around. Specially not for what he's earning.

It was eye-opening in the least to see two QBs with similar skill sets where one (the younger one) was so much more in control of himself, made better decisions, and was able to do more with some extra height. Having a ton of time in the pocket and a solid run game against a Swiss cheese defense helps too though.

I don’t understand why he looked immobile today. Nothing like week 2. Wonder if it was the game plan or he was hurt in some way. Taking the sack on 4th and 1 iirc???

The guy doesn't play the preseason, doesn't want to study the playbook, he reminds me of the girl that doesn't bother to unlock your door in the car after you let her in on a date. He doesn't care.

We could not put points on the board with one of the worst defenses in the league. Even with our bad offense today they are still one of the worst. If you can't score in this league you are toast.

If this doesn't get better especially if RT Williams and Zay Jones are back vs. Packers which would allow Kyler to have the entire 1st string offense back ... then the key date is March 22, 2025. That is the day Kyler's 2026 Salary and Bonus are GUARANTEED to the tune of almost $37 MILLION !
