At least he, Simms, was there at the combine actually watching the workouts. Marvin skipped his combine and his OSU pro day. Harrison definitely has 'Diva' written all over him. C-Sins, Thanks for the videos in response to my post. I'll admit 'Diva' was the wrong word as MHJ has said or done nothing thru social media or any media outlet for me to use Diva to describe his character. My bad. Ossenfort's "Open for Business" headlines lead me to believe he may be in a trade down mode. Ossenfort's mantra and culture commands team first, team members or DRAFT prospects are not exempt. Monti is a film guy. He wants the most recent film to study on any player. MJH denied him of that. I don't think it's that big of a draft strategy changer as far as Monti's board goes. We'll see, but I'm almost leaning toward a 50-50% chance MJH is selected by the Cardinals at number 4. www.si.com/nfl/cardinals/news/arizona-cardinals-open-for-business-nfl-draft

I posted the video from the 2023 Cardinals war room during the last draft on another thread. Everyone should watch the first 15 minutes. Monti was in his element more wheeling and dealing than he was when he actually got to call in the picks. He’s going to be open for business in every draft he’s ever a part of.

I suspect that it's the commentators and fans taking more of a "position" view emphasizing MHJ than MO is. If he can get a bundle for that #4 pick I'd bet top dollar that's what he'll pursue even if it means likely missing out on Harrison. He's got his franchise QB and his defense to think about and that's bigger than just one guy.

Monti is smart saying he is open to business. If he gets an offer that overwhelms him he can take it.
I suspect he stays at 4 and we get a potentially great WR, which is a need and is BPA. I've never been fond of drafting a WR high but in this case it's understandable.

Add to that, in this draft there are several, if not many very, very good WRs. In an average draft they would be considered great picks.
In short, this time around more = better, due to the breadth of talent in the draft pool and our multiple needs. Fortunately our draft position this year gives us options not usually available, so Monti's choices can make a big difference.
IMHO

Pretty much how I feel when it comes to the Vikings trade idea. Ideal outcome would be picks #11, #23 and 2025 1st rounder AND Odunze drops to us at #11. I could see that happening. QB, QB, QB, QB first 4 picks Alt to Chargers 5 picks left and another QB like Bo Nix could be one of them. Harrison will be one of them. That leaves 3-4 picks before us. Will two of those be Nabers and Odunze? Then we have our WR1, can take another WR like Corley later (my WR crush), and have 2 more 1st in 2024 and in 2025.

WF latest mock draft has the Vikings trading with the Giants and getting JJ McCarthy at #6. In that mock, the Giants were able to get Odunze at #11 !! Trade down with Denver -2024 #12 2024 #76 2025 1st & 3rd Rounder CB Patrick Surtain (he agrees to LT deal with Cardinals equivalent to the Bears Jaylon Johnson 2024 deal as both players are same age)

Ok, with this. CB PS is a superstar. IMO the best in football. Would need to do this deal like NOW . But Denver doesn’t do this with a 2025 first rounder in there-leave that out don’t need it. We would need to try and strike a deal at 7 (Odunze), give Titans the 12, 35, and the just acquired 76. So, we have a shutdown corner, great X1 receiver, at 27 pickup Robinson edge. The offense will be hard to stop, defense much improved already with FA DL additions. Looks like a 9 win or better team.

I am starting to get a little quirky feeling about MHJ, his refusal to do any workouts? Is he a Primadonna in waiting? Right now I have gone from the MHJ or bust- to either one of the other two wr1 is fine with me. In fact, might even want that. Particularly is we can trade down and back up to grab Odunze.

I don't think he's a primadonna. I think he's just leery of putting up numbers below Odunze/Nabors and losing his coveted spot as the top WR. There's also potential injury risk. While he's not a primadonna, I do have to give Nabors/Odunze the edge since they did not one but extra workouts. The bigger question is will MHJ do private workouts. If he refuses to do private workouts then there's no way I would take the kid. If you're investing a top-5 pick in someone, especially when that position is super deep in a draft, it's idiotic to invest in someone who won't do a private workout. I wouldn't ask him to run 40s per se. But I want all the top-3 guys to come in and just run routes with Kyler throwing to them. I'd tape the sessions then see how well each guy did running pro routes they may not have run in their college schemes. IMO, the only positive about him skipping workout is it makes it even more likely someone like Harbaugh would pass on the kid. Which means he could slide past the Chargers and still be available at 6 - if we traded back
