Vikings #11, #23 and 2025 1st rounder Broncos #12, #76, and CB Patrick Surtain II Raiders #13, #43, #77, 2025 1st rounder and 2025 2nd rounder
Which would you take instead of MHJ at #4?

I'd take any of the 3 options Troy Franklin Xavier Leggett Numerous other WR will be available at the end of the 1st round and they are all damn good. We are obviously building thru tge draft so let's BUILD! One WR, no matter how good he is does not a whole team make.....and I love MHJ and would be happy as hell if we get him. But 3 1st round picks....and more draft capital next year.....I'm rolling with that.

Rookies are cheap. While some may not work out, others will. The more you have, the better chance at finding ones that do work out and you get them while they are cheap. With free agents, they cost more, and sometimes they don't workout either. I have no problem adding free agents. Hell, sometimes it's even necessary, but you have to be smart about it and never overspend. All told. In any given year, I would rather add more draft picks/rookies than free agents. In many ways, football is just a money game. Spend wisely and succeed. IMHO, building your team with draft capitol is far superior to trying to do it with free agents.

They all sound great but since I'm the eternal optimist and think the Cardinals actually are just a few players away from making the playoffs I would take the broncos deal. It is my humble opinion that if the offense gets a left guard and a number one receiver they're good to go. The date that still needs an interior lineman, an edge rusher and a corner. Patrick surtain immediately makes a defensive line and the pass rush better as well as giving a much much needed top veteran in the secondary room.
It would awfully possible should Monte choose to to move back up into the second round since they would be getting the extra third round pick. This one I feel is the most unlikely however because directly some kind of discussion about Patrick's contract and something would have to be basically work out before the draft.

I don't see DEN parting ways with CB Suritan (6'2"/202 lbs) in 2024. The now 4th-year CBs sunk costs mitigate a trade today. If he doesn't sign a fat contract extension in the middle part of this next season, $50 million for 3 years should make him happy, then perhaps DEN will be open to a trade after this next season.
If Harrison is gone at #4, I'd take the MIN trade #11 first followed by the LVR trade at #13. If a top-3 WR is still on the board at #11, I might trade back again 2 spots for more picks in 2025.

Peter Skoronski-2023 Chris Olave-2022 Justin Fields-2021 Mekhi Becton-2020 Jonah Williams-2019 Minkah Fitzpatrick-2018 Marshon Lattimore-2017 Vernon Hargreaves III-2016 Trae Waynes-2015 Taylor Lewan-2014 Hey flash Your thinking is leaking #12 6 really good players last 10 years Several Pro Bowlers 1 pick below yours. I'll play your scenarios #12 Overall last 10 years 2023 Jahmyr Gibbs RB Lions < good player only a rookie Check his stats on my other thread
2022 Jameson Williams WR Lions Not so good yet 2021 Micah Parsons LB Cowboys Outstanding2020 Henry Ruggs WR Raiders Sad ending 2019 Rashan Gary LB Packers "One of their top players" < devongent was right again2018 Vita Vea NT Buccaneers Pro Bowler Played in the Super Bowl 2017 DeShaun Watson QB Cleveland 3 X Pro Bowler2016 Sheldon Rankins DT Saints He has had injuries but is still around 64.2 2015 Danny Shelton DT Cleveland So So career injury plagued 2014 Odell Beckham WR Giants HMMM Rookie of the Year 2014 3x Pro BowlerMike Evans was drafted ahead of Beckham at #7 overall Evans has a better career 11680 yds 94 Tds Beckham career 7,367 yds 57 TDs Sammy Watkins was drafted ahead of both Evans and Beckham
at GUESS WHERE You GOT # 4th overall
5384 yds 34 TDS
Here is my point
You cant look into the future Hindsight is not part of the equation on Draft Day. Tom Brady was not worth a 1st on his draft day But in his prime you probably could have had 4 1sts to get him in a trade.
The points do matter on trade day that is all Not in the future. The deals are made on value points and need and QB Premiums
By your reasoning we should skip the 11th overall and trade to the 12th. It doesn't work that way.
Love the dialog
Florida,
You Blind Sided me...ha ha ha...that was an unexpected rebuttal but really a great one!!!
Now, I am going to see if I can think of a comeback...to be continued later....great post...

CHI, NE, and WAS will pick QBs. I'm 99.9999% certain about it. Re NYG and MIN, they need QBs and one team will make a move to grab #4. If they want ARZ's #4, the price is big + the QB premium. FLCF knows best what Jimmy Johnson did with QB math. It depends on the QB, pick #, and team. Every owner and GM gets nervous when a rookie QB they covet is about to go next to another team.
SF famously overpaid dearly for Lance who never amounted to anything. The same can be said for ARZ paying to move up and take Rosen. KC nailed it when they jumped up to take Mahomes.

Ok how about this since rumors are flying....Vikings get our #4 and we get 11, 23 and Justin Jefferson I think you have to add a 2nd round pick to and i would do it in a second. JJ is in his 5th year no way he sigs with the vikings without a Qb and probably not interested in a rookie qb either. He knows KM likes to throw the deep ball and JJ loves them deep pass patterns.

How about a Monti special- we trade with Vikings and get their 11 and 23 plus 3rd rounder. We trade back up with Atlanta at 8 and pick off Odunze. We still have the 23, 27, and 35. Some good starters available. We give back to Atlanta 11 and top 3rd pick. We would be contenders for a wild card right off bat.

Ok how about this since rumors are flying....Vikings get our #4 and we get 11, 23 and Justin Jefferson I think even Red could get on board with that trade. What say you Red? ? I don't see us getting this lucky but MHJ lovers are crazy if we don't do a trade like that should it be offered.

I think I'd actually take Bowers at 11, then use one of the extra picks to get another top WR since we'd still have enough extra capital for OL and DL. I'd go 11- Bowers (if still there) 23 - Best WR avail 27 - Best DL 35 - Oregon Center if he's still there, or best RT
