LB Patrick Queen to Steelers. I’m like 0-17. I don’t think we’ve signed a player on a single top 100 list.

Edge Danielle Hunter to the Texans. He was the top FA remaining and would have been a huge signing.
Chase Young? (Visiting Panthers, Saints and Titans) Arik Armstead? (Not released yet) DJ Reader? (Lions, Titans, Bengals are the rumors) Kendall Fuller? (More rumors about Bengals) Jonah Williams or Trent Brown at tackle?
No one else would excite me. Maybe a trade? Are we keeping Budda and the injured DHump?

There are 30 other teams than the Cards who can go after a teams FA and there are other factors at play. Nothing would happen with Budda or Hump yet. Hopefully they use Budda to move up and get another second round pick. Late third and Budda for a second seems fair to me. Chase Young would be an overpay and most likely a disappointment. His effort or lack there of was noted with the Niners at end of season. He is just not trust worthy enough in my opinion. Lots of offseason left.

I think Monti is done spending at FA in 2024. This week, he signed a used RB, CB, DT and LB. All have tread on the tires. None is over-the-hill. What's FA cost him? $30-40M guaranteed, if my numbers are close, and all FA are on multi-year contracts. The dead money is affordable if these guys have to bailout after a year.

I think Monti is done spending at FA in 2024. What's your thoughts at Receiver EZ? I'm thinking one will be brought in through Free Agency (Holywood Brown or not) followed by one via the draft.

Devon, excellent question. There are so many enticing rookie options in the Draft that I'm not sure why any GM would be interested in throwing cash money at the available big-name FA WRs, e.g., veteran Calvin Ridley and youngster Marquise Brown. Rookie M Harrison Jr is a lock to be good in 2024. Same for a few more WR and TE guys I could mention here. Both Brown and Ridley's agents will want long-term contracts costing teams probably $12-15M per year with a big chunk guaranteed in year one. Ridley's got better 2023 stats than Brown. The two WRs are similar in H/W/speed. Ridley was suspended for an entire year (2022) and that may give pause to other teams offering him a fat contract. Brown is an inconsistent WR due to injury. I'm still sore about DHop's hot pee test. Bottomline: If the GM chases a new FA WR, he has to have a clean rap sheet. I am watching Ossenfort mostly patch up the defense in the FA process. These signings are backups and depth. Ossenfort did sign a RB from SEA. He might still sign 1-2 more FAs but he won't spend a lot for their contracts. 1-2 year deals most likely if it is a FA WR.

So raiders released garoppolo. Would he make a good backup QB? Also, chargers release wr Williams. Would love to see him with the Cardinals. A big wr who can go up and get the ball. 6'4 220 pounds. But probably too expensive

Still interested in Kendall Fuller, DJ Reader, Chase Young, Armstead, or now perhaps the Chargers Mike Williams. Get one of those and the first six picks of the draft for us get really interesting.

But probably too expensiveThis would be a superb signing and he is exactly the type of player we need out on the perimeter. - Coming off an ACL tear early in the 2023 season, then he isn't going to command 'top-dollar', but he won't be cheap either. Some medical due-diligence is required, but this signing would round-off Free Agency very nicely...

March 13, 2024: WR Calvin Ridley to sign with Titans, 4-years, $92M deal, and a $50M check given to him up front. Where's WR Marquis Brown's new paycheck? He's holding out for someone. Maybe himself.

Williams would want too much money. He is great when on the field, but the problem is he has never played a full season. Here are his game starts in 7 seasons:
1, 5, 15, 11, 14, 13, 3
If we picked up Williams, that would more than likely eliminate our shot at picking up Marvin. No thanks, I would rather us go with Marvin and take a chance that he does not miss as many games as Williams...
