I’m a Bradford, Rosen and Glennon fan in 2018. I am too. With the injury history of our first two QB's, all three may end up playing. Who knows? Actually, I'm a fan of all the Cards' players. I never understood how some people consider themselves Cardinals fans then wish certain Cardinals players ill. Really they are only fans of certain players who happen to be on the Cardinals, but not fans of the team as a whole.

Sam was rented until we got a QB. He's on a purely mercenary contract. Are you buying his Jersey? The Cardinals need to get Rosen lots of reps. Not playing him just puts Larry Fitzgerald along with PP another year away from being off this team. We don't have time to waste with Sam.

The vote is interesting but fan's wants don't matter to Wilks. I like that Wilks signaled early that Sam is the starter but added that the best QB will start in September. I like those apples.

We have posters that say SB can't throw deep. Yet in 2016 his deep throws gave him a QB rating of 121.5. #1 deep passer rating in 2016. Passer rating under pressure 87.7 #2 that year. Redzone throws 110.5 #8. If Sam can give us even close to those numbers for this season the Cards will Not be the NFCW bottom dwellers as so many pundits and posters have predicted. Rosen will get more time to hone and refine his game for when he does start (2019 we all hope). One of the reasons he has good numbers throwing deep is he doesn't throw deep much. He's more of a ball controlled offense guy. A very good one at that. But he's not Aaron Rodgers. The issue is health. He's suddenly not going to get healthy now that he's in his thirties. He was more of a marketing ploy in case we didn't get a QB. I would prefer he start until he gets injured just to give Rosen some time.

What Sam has never done is run a decent to good NFL O. With Sam at the helm you can break down reasonable stats for Sam but you can't hide the fact that the O's he ran weren't good or competitive. He hasn't shown he can run a ball control O that can be a top 10 to 15 O or any other type of O. The QB position is about a lot more than accuracy or the ability to throw the NFL passing tree. It's about leadership and playmaking in critical situations. That stat often shows up in points and wins. SB doesn't have either of those stats ever. There's a reason Philadelphia decided to unload Sam after they drafted Wentz and it wasn't just because MN was desperate. They didn't want him around Wenz.

Do you have any proof of that? A link or article to back up that assertion? Don't think you will find one either.

Do you have any proof of that? A link or article to back up that assertion? Don't think you will find one either. www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/philadelphia-eagles/sam-bradford-eagles-vikings-trade-10-observations-carson-wentz?ampSome key points to understand why. They intended for Bradford to be their starting QB. Bradford asked to be traded when the drafted Wentz and held out. After seeing Wentz in pre-season they were negotiating with Denver to trade him. Bradford was the Eagles starter and they wanted 2 No. 2's and Denver wouldn't give it to them. They traded him to the Vikings 8 days before the season started. You don't dump your starting QB 8 days before the season unless he's not as good as the rookie and he doesn't want to be a bridge QB. Some key points about Bradford from the article I linked. 3. It’s interesting to me that of the 18 quarterbacks in NFL history who have won seven or more games as rookies, 11 are active. And six of those 11 came in the last five years — Andy Dalton in 2011, Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson, Ryan Tannehill and Robert Griffin III in 2012 and Geno Smith in 2013. That’s more than in the entire decades of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s … combined. So something has changed. Guys are ready faster. The transition for some reason has become easier. Part of it is the influx of pro-style offenses in college, but then you have a guy like Joe Flacco who played 1-AA football — like Wentz — and went 11-5 as a rookie with the Ravens with a passer rating over 80. Of the 27 rookie QBs in NFL history that have had a passer rating over 75 (based on 250 or more attempts), 18 of them — two-thirds — have been since 2008. For whatever reason, the transition has become easier, and there is no question that’s one of the reasons the Eagles believe Wentz — with his off-the-charts football intelligence — can pull this off. 4. It’s interesting to note where Bradford ranks in Eagles history in several categories. Among quarterbacks who threw 500 passes in an Eagles uniform, he’s first in accuracy (65 percent), fourth in passer rating (86.4 percent), fourth in interception percentage (one every 38 attempts) and by far first in yards per game (266). In just one year, he’s got the eighth-most 300-yard games and the third-most games with 300 yards passing and 65 percent completion percentage. 5. But the one thing about Bradford that has always bothered me the most is his touchdown percentage. He just does not throw touchdowns. He’s accurate, he’s smart, he gets the ball down the field (I know you don’t believe this but it’s actually true … the numbers prove it). But he just doesn’t get it in the end zone. Of 38 active quarterbacks who’ve thrown 1,000 or more passes, Bradford ranks third from the bottom — 36th — in TD percentage at one every 29 pass attempts, ahead of only Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne. Adding all quarterbacks in NFL history who’ve thrown 1,000 passes, Bradford drops to 198th out of 227. If you can’t get the ball in the end zone, none of the other stats matter. And that’s been Bradford’s Achilles’ heel his whole career.

Can anyone find any football analyst, of note, anywhere that says Bradford can't play the QB position in the NFL when healthy? They all say the same thing, he is a top tier NFL QB when healthy. GMs, coaches, owners, NFL analysts for the media...the list goes on and on. There may be a few who disagree but the VAST MAJORITY have a lot of respect for his talent. It's buffoonery to sit here and say he can't do it based on whatever miniscule amount of video you may have watched compared to those that analyze stuff like this for a living. He may not have a great record with the TEAMS he has played on, but you could have put the second coming of Joe Montana on some of those train wrecks and had the same results.
He can play the position...the only question is for how long?

I highlighted the only relevant part of your statement. He plays the position well. Any other comments, conjecture or hyperbole about what happened with the other teams he was on can go straight to the trashcan. SK and company know about who he is and what he can do and all that matters right now is how they manage him as a player with known health issues and if they can extract his best effort for the duration of the season. If they can do this, we will be sitting pretty.

SK and company know about who he is and what he can do and all that matters right now is how they manage him as a player with known health issues and if they can extract his best effort for the duration of the season. If they can do this, we will be sitting pretty. That's a position. However what makes a franchise QB is his team scores points and wins. There are literally 100's of QB's who can play the position. Over decades Sam ranks near the bottom with someone with his attempts in scoring TD's per pass. That's not even comparing him to his peers that's a historic number. The guys just isn't a franchise QB. He's a guy who can play the position and in a vacuum where points and wins don't matter he plays the position well. In the NFL where scoring points and winning matter, Sam Bradford stinks. While you may think that's irrelevant, he is the last QB sandwiched between Teddy Bridgewater and Case Keenum who didn't lead MN to the playoffs. We agree Sam can play NFL QB if he's healthy. We disagree that he can do anything positive for our team and organization this year. I also think having a QB who can't lead teams to scoring is not a bridge QB to teach a rookie QB how to play the position. We got Sam before we got Rosen. We have Rosen we don't need Sam to hold him back or teach him how to look like a QB but not get his team in the end zone and actually win. I want Rosen to develop his talent now. We need a franchise QB to win our division, win playoff games against good teams and hopefully win a SB. Sam Bradford doesn't fit anywhere in that equation. We have two teams in our division. Seattle went to two consecutive SB. RW started from day 1. The Rams wasted 9 games on Case Keenum. The new HC turned him around immediately and they went to the playoffs. Brady won a SB in year 1 and they wouldn't have won a SB if Bledsoe didn't go down with an injury. Bledsoe was much better than SB. The Eagles won the SB in year 2 with Wentz. They started him immediately and not coincidentally got Bradford off the team when they made that decision to start him. The NFL is not the same as it was. Rookies play immediately. Of the 18 quarterbacks in NFL history who have won seven or more games as rookies, 11 are active. And six of those 11 came in the last five years. We have a young HC. He doesn't have to go old school because that's the way things were done in the past.
