Welcome to The Official Game Thread Week 6 of the 2022 NFL season
The Arizona Cardinals( 2-3) who have played well on the road find
themselves facing their divisional foe the Seattle Seahawks(2-3).
There is a new era in Seattle as QB Geno Smith replaces the
irreplaceable QB Russell WilsonWho departed to the Denver Broncos.
This is not the Geno Smith who once QB'd the New York Jets.
Smith's resurgence under Head Coach Pete Carroll is nothing short
of remarkable. He ranks 12th with(1305) passing yds and has
thrown for 9 TDs with only 2 ints. Tyler Lockett has been his favorite receiver
ranking 11th in the NFL. Lockett has 32 receptions for 406 yds and 2 TDs.
D.K. Metcalf has 2 TDs on 28 receptions. Seattle was dealt a blow when
RB Rashad Penny went down last week with a broken leg and is out for
the NFL season. Rookie RB Kenny Walker now steps into the lead back
role for the Seahawks. Walker was a 2nd rd pick. Last week
versus the Saints he carried the ball 11 times for 88 yds.
Seattle's defense now that is another story. They rank dead last (32nd)
in yds allowed giving up nearly 430 yds per game. Veteran LB Bruce Irvin
has been signed to the practice squad coming back for the third time in
Seattle.
The Arizona Cardinals are coming off the tough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
The 20-17 loss has the Cardinals reeling form what could have been after
a missed field goal by K Matt Ammendola from 43 yds. The Cardinals
offense is now ranked 15th after losing to the Eagles. Arizona
is averaging 352 yds per game. Kyler Murray ranks 15th in the NFL
and his favorite target Marquis Brown has leaped into 4th in the league
with 38 receptions for 417 yds. The Cardinals have RB problems as well.
Eno Benjamin now has the RB1 role. Benjamin rushed for 25 yds
on 6 carries. WR Rondale Moore had his best game as a Cardinal
7 receptions for 68 yards. Expect his numbers to continue to improve.
On Defense, the 17th ranked Cardinals played well in the second half after
allowing two TDs earlier in the game's first quarter. The 20-17
loss to the Eagles should give this team incentive to win
against their long time rivals the Seahawks.
