Glennon is under control and the longer term backup. He's not going anywhere. Rosen with Glennon as a solid #2 going forward.

BTW: Gambo on 98.7 stated yesterday he is hearing that the coaches are giddy about seeing Rosen in live action -- he compared the coaches excitement to unveiling someone's beautiful new girl friend to his buddies (seriously this was the analogy made). The reality is Gambo's sources are so excited that they want to show other teams what they drafted at #10 and tell the world that in the NFC West, it is not necessarily the other teams in the division which have the best young QB of the future.

Lotsa entertaining messages in that comment string. Showing off new GF to buddies analogy is the best. That's what geezers do at the retirement home because they can't do what guys did long ago. Gambo = Geezer?

I think it is a smart move to have 3qbs in today’s NFL. With the way the concussion protocol is run, it isn’t very hard to lose 2qbs very quickly.

Will this ( the whole concussion protocol thing) force the NFL to allow more than 46 players to dress on game day? I can see a push from coaches for it to be so.

I don't subscribe to the only reason we drafted Rosen was because of Bradford's injury history. I think SK had in mind some type of deal to land one of the 4 QBs that were going to go in the first round, especially with all the talk about Rosen possibly dropping to us at 15 right before the draft. Seems this year was the year that the Cardinals really did have a QBOF on their radar and when the trade with the Raiders materialized, it was too good of an opportunity to pass up. The stars aligned for us on draft day and we took advantage of it. You can rest assured that if the price to trade up had been too high or absurd, MB and SK would have passed on a QB again this year and placed the success of the offense in the hands of Bradford and Glennon for 2018. I'm no expert on contracts but I think that Bradford's contract has a 2nd year option that if we exercised that, the no trade clause would still be in place so it would seem more likely that we would not exercise that option and let Bradford hit the open market again if Rosen turns out to be the stud we are all hoping he is. Ideally, with Rosen getting so much time on the field with the ones while Bradford rests his legs and Glennon pukes his guts out really sets things up beautifully for a transition to him being the starter sooner rather than later and us being able to let Bradford walk, limp or hobble off to another team next year and take our $90 million in cap money and really start setting us up for the future.

The way I see it is Bradford is made of glass and Rosen does have a concussion history. I can easily see a scenario where Bradford has us 6-3 then hits the IR and Rosen gets us to let's say 8-5 and then has to miss a couple games for something (God Forbid! Lol). We would all be very happy to have Glennon as a third stringer. Gone are the days, were in that scenario above, we would miss the playoffs because Ryan Lindley would go 0-3 with a 40% completion rate 1 TD and 8 picks haha I for one am thrilled that Kiem has LEARNED FROM THE PAST 😊
And even if you disagree with carrying three quarterbacks, this year isn't our year. It's about the future. Next year Bradford and his big contract will probably be gone, Rosen will be starting and our QBoF, Glennon (arguably a top 5 SECOND stringer) will be the number 2 and locked up on a very friendly team deal, all our bases covered.
Like Dry Heat stated earlier in the thread, I don't understand the hate on here for a young quarterback with a 60+ comp % and a 34/20 td/int ratio. He showed promise to start in this league on the dysfunctional bucs never mind be a back up. At the very least he showed the ability, irrefutably, to protect the ball and keep the chains moving which considering DJ and our defense would be more then enough to win his spot starts. Also and maybe I am wrong on this, but I don think the talent level between Foles (who is one of my favorite players) and Glennon, is significantly different and Foles just won a Super Bowl

I really don't want to throw Rosen into the fire potentially in week 3 after the Rams destroy Bradford. Let Glennon play--we payed him a lot for a third stringer.
