I think its time for a thread dedicated to comments about our new coach. I'm seeing a lot of similarities between Coach Mike Singletary and Coach Wilks. For example, Coach Wilks uses lots of great football slogans, cliches and platitudes when explaining losses. I find that disconcerting in that it fails to address the root cause of poor play. However, I remain confident that Coach Wilks will keep his pants on.
As a side note, I am pleased that we have not missed one regular season field goal yet. I have been very worried about Phil Dawson.

Post game interview showed Wilks getting a little upset about questions and lack of productivity...maybe he does have a fire inside, he needs to be able to make a difference.
This week looked better, but not sure why we make defensive mistakes. That group he should be able to "coach up" all by himself. We should have shut down the Bears today. Seattle at home next week is another opportunity to rough up an average team.
I will be impressed if he can make this team average at this point.

Yes - Wilks seemed angry and hostile. In every presser he frequently uses the word "execute" when talking about his players. Its a bad sign. "Execute" is coach code for deflecting the blame onto the players. Its a total cop out and has me worried that the coaching staff is not accepting responsibility for poor play. In every presser he says "we need to find a way to win one game." I hate that. It sounds bad. Its setting expectations way to low.
And as a side note, I hated the way all the players were laughing and joking out on the field after the game. Someone needs to remind them they are now 0-3 and will be in last place when the new power rankings come out. They are now the joke of the NFL. May be that's what they thought was funny? May be it IS time for Wilks to drop his pants?

For now, we share the NFL doghouse with Pittsburgh, Oakland, and Houston. Penthouse luxury to doghouse mediocrity happens so fast with some teams. The Cardinals are not alone in that elevator.

Main problem is....Willks was not ready to be a head coach. Add in the fact his D coordinator is also new and his O coordinator was never any good and you have a recipe for disaster. The other problem was no decent coach wanted to come to the Cards so we were left with leftovers. Hence 0 and 3 and looking at a long lost season.

I think the prescribed thought leading up to the hiring of Wilks was that no decent coach wanted anything to do with the Cardinals because of the QB situation. Who knows if that's true. This mess is not just a Wilks thing of course. The wunderkind McVay takes the Rams job coming off of a disaster season with a QB named Goff who some are already calling a bust so I can never buy the idea that it's about one guy. Maybe the Cardinals are still stuck in a bygone decade, with "the process", too much loyalty, whatever.
Anyway, should be interesting on some level to watch this thing play out. Wilks can't walk the plank without Keim, that much I know.

Yah, but this is why even if we could not have gotten an experienced/proven HC, we should have at least gone with one who is offensive minded and has experience with young quarterbacks. When you know that you will soon be using your first round pick on a rookie QB, that is one time when you have NO business hiring a defense specialized HC! This is going to hamstring Rosen for the foreseeable future.

Mccoy is a bigger problem than Wilks right now.
Replace Mccoy with Byron Leftwhich, if the team is still DOA, then you look at Wilks.
Wilks is a D guy. He really cant be blamed for the offense right now. He knows nothing about Offense. Thats why he hired Mccoy and Mccoy is blowing it.

Wilks needs to go, I'm sorry justified the call for chase to be in there on the 3rd and 2 and his explanation was that the call was good we just need better blocking. Well when the other team knew the play and you run that play with that many defenders there in the box just further shows me he is not a head coach we can trust to lead the team to better days.
I am so anti this coaching staff.

Wilks has Singletary written all over him. Big on motivational speeches , small on how to create winning game plans.

If he has no clue about the offense why would the cardinals want him as the head coach ? I want all of them gone Mccoy now.

I did not pay attention at the end of the game but totally agree with you - this 0-3 situation is not a laughing matter. Seems like a failure on behalf of the coaching staff again if they condone or look the other way after a thus far winless season.

I’m not happy about the way the players acted after the game as well. From the post game interviews I saw, only Fitz seemed upset.
