I’ve been saying this for a couple of weeks now! Again, I don’t know if Leftwich is the right answer but something has to be done with McCoy. For him to miss with our offense this badly, shows McCoy shouldn’t be the OC! Someone in management respects Leftwich and it appears the players do as well. Per Fox Sports 910 twitter: If Mike McCoy is fired mid season, and if he is replaced by Byron Leftwich, I have seen that there is indeed confidence in the locker room for Leftwich. - @joshweinfuss on @kennyandcrash about azcardinals potential offensive future

Just read that the Bucs fired DC Smith! If this wasn’t a short week, would Wilks have fired McCoy?

This nightmare of an offensive philosophy will hopefully be over one week from now. McCoy has to go. His terrible offensive scheme, play calling, and ideals will hopefully soon be one of those "it's not as bad as when" memories of a really bad past.
Ironic that the team that fired him in the middle of last season, could be the one who causes it to happen again.

At this point although I hate losing I would be ok if we did. My ultimate scenario would be that we win because of our defense with defensive scores. Our offense goes 0-10 again on third downs with McCoy calling runs up the middle constantly being stuffed because of his inept play calling and than Mike McCoy is fired the next day.

I posted something similar in another post. I hate losing and wouldn’t mind the defense scoring enough points to win and offense playing bad just to get McCoy out of here!

McCoy needs to go but do you guys honestly think Byron Leftwich is going to change things. Come back down to earth. It's just wishful thinking.

Denny Green fired the OC here in 2006, I believe immediately after the MNF meltdown. Did essentially nothing to improve, Cardinals eventually got to 1-10 before winning again. Denver did it last year with McCoy and I don't think they improved materially after the boot. Those are the two I'm aware of, if anyone has an example of a midseason OC firing giving a team a jolt for the positive I'm all ears.
As for Leftwich, how does anyone even know he wants or is even remotely qualified for the job? Just assuming so?

Heck even the groundskeeper for the classic movie "Bad News Bears In Breaking Training" that says, "Hello, how are you?" would be a better replacement for the clueless so called offensive coordinator Mike McCoy we currently have.

Those same thoughts have occupied my mind when I read that he could replace McCoy. Does he even play with X's and O's for fun on paper?
He could be a former QB who just was good at following the play designs of others - or just maybe a genius awaiting a chance. I have no idea and like you, can only wonder.
It would be a very good idea to avoid banking on Leftwich being a takeover option without first making very sure he has a chance for success.

I guess You All forgot that BA let Leftwich call PS games? He has some experience and since he's the QB coach knows the plays as well. Will he turn it magically around if allowed to play call? Who knows. But really, by now who Cares! He would be hands down better than McCoy!

I just can't fathom any possibility that this offense doesn't improve immediately when McCoy is fired. His poor play calling alone being gone might have this offense increase productivity by at least 6 points per game AND immediately generate some points in the 3rd quarter.
