Wasn't Ertz washed before he went to IR? My sense is that we should leave this possible deal alone.

I for one am glad to see Marcus back in Red. He will help. His enthusiasm and motor will benefit the D. Sidenote: The Mrs and I met him and his Mother and Father the night before the last Cardinal vs Ram game in St. Louis. Before the Rams up and moved back to LA. I have a signed Pic of Marcus strip sacking Andy Dalton in Cincinnati from that same season. He and his family are very down to earth people and were a pleasure to visit with. Character quality goes a long way.

Fought injuries his rookie year, having a much better sophomore effort thus far, still not on the level of the #3 overall. Will he ever get here? Time will tell but my guess is not. Can he be an above average Dll? I think so. He’s really cheap for the next 2 years with the 5th year option available. At first I was on board with the second ( and I might still be) I hesitate as the second round seems to be Keims best round. Wonder if a third and a 5th in 22 could get it done? Probably not as why would the Jets not just keep him for anything less than a second? Ughhh torn on this one.. I think at the end of the day, I’m risking the second on him. One reason is I don’t think I’ve heard Zak Allen’s name called a single time on game day despite ample playing time.

I think at the end of the day, I’m risking the second on him. IF the FO consider him to be an excellent talent who just needs more time and good coaching to reach his (top level) potential then a second would then be 'a bit of a bargain'. - Such an assessment is beyond my understanding, but all I would say is that there are another 31 teams (other than the Jets) and if no-one is prepared to offer a second for him then that (to my mind) is very telling. To be clear, if Keim/ Kingsbury/ Joseph believe that Q Williams is still a top-end first round talent then I would gladly see us invest this pick in him. Wonder if a third and a 5th in 22 On the assumption that the FO believe in him, then a 3rd rounder and 'a sweetener' would be much more to my liking!

I don't know what Cleveland would expect for him. - I assume that our 5th rounder wouldn't be sufficient? On reflection; I wouldn't offer any more.

Now with bye week starting, this is time to make a major move. We are certainly in the playoff hunt, first need to figure out quickly the injury front. Who’s coming back and not. Running back situation? I would guess Todd Gurley would probably be available with the fire sale going on.

Interesting. Kirk is really starting to move into that solid #2 and fitz is now #3. Will fitz be back? I seriously doubt at the current salary, just can’t afford him at that number. Isabella I’m starting to doubt can be anything more than a one or two deep route per game reciever. ( I know it’s early but the Metcalf/ Isabella decision may haunt us for a decade) think I would seriously consider this!

It would have to be for cheap, but he's intriguing

If we had a top notch DE that could unleash his talent it would appear like a worth while gamble for good value. But considering how VJ has used Simmons or the lack there of I’m tapping the brakes here. I feel if we had a better scheme & adjustments this could be at a minimum at a top 10 D. If Bowles was DC I’d say go for it as I think he could nurture him while transforming this D into something special.
