Rosen places the ball in the wrong places. He will get the WR's killed. I hope he corrects his ways. He needs to learn how to read defenses. He will be throwing a lot of interceptions too. He will have to get use to the NFL game. We will see High's and low's with this kid. It will take him 2 to 3 years before he gets consistent. He justs needs to do the work. And have an offense that is geared to his game. Needs an OC that know's how he plays. Pat Mahomes will be special. I believe he is really advanced for his skill level. You're name "birdbrain" is very appropriate for the post your wrote.

Mahomes looks good, but I like Rosen better. Have to preface everything with "its still early" but assuming Rosen is the amazing dude we saw Sunday for his entire career, he will be a better QB than Mahomes. Mahomes is the razzle dazzle guy who goes off script. Puts up huge numbers. But ultimately that is not sustainable long term. Most of the best QBs in NFL history are accurate, pocket passers. Thats what Rosen is. No razzle dazzle. His style will allow him to have a very long career. The NFL also changes. I see Mahomes as the total package. He's very accurate unlike a lot of these running QB's . Big arm on him too. I dont care if Rosen is better , I just want Rosen to be a top tier QB. We could use that around here. Big arm is a worthless stat to me. Not as worthless as "height". But same ball park. Mahomes can throw it to the moon, but the field is only 100 yards. Favre had a problem where he would rocket guys only 10 yards away and theyd drop it. "Too much arm" is a real thing. Rosen has a good arm. Not Mahomes cannon, but he doesnt need it. Rosens #1 attribute is his brain. You can see him calmly going through his reads in the pocket. You cant teach that

You cant teach that Big arm means a lot when you attach it to accuracy and a good brain. Otherwise you have a mid range QB. So far the early results on Mahomes are as good as they get. could Rosen "catch him" at some point and be better. I'd say it's reasonable to say he could but early prizes go to Mahomes.

IE making all the throws.

Missing everything else and they sucked.

If you consider that Mahomes is a 2nd year player, albeit his first action starting this year, he has twice as much time in the NFL under his belt than Rosen. And Rosens 1st game was just as impressive as Mahomes. I actually think Rosen has already "caught him". BC also consider if our WRs could catch, Rosens stat line would have been 72% compl, 3 TDs, 300+ yards. Thats unreal.

Sounds like currently a certain QB from Green Bay. It’s okay to think he’s going to be a great QB for a long time, because he will. He’s going to be what you think your guy Darnold will be.

Rosen in time might be good. Only time will tell on that one. Mahomes has chance to be special. I mean Rogers special. Plus he has Andy Reed who is a lot better QB guru than anything on the Cards staff at this time. Mahoes can also improvise a lot better than Rosen can.
Not saying I'm not satisfied with Rosen, but if I had my pick of the two I'd take Mahomes ever day.

He had the best start for a rookie QB since the inception of Pro football focus in 06'. Mahomes is a raw athlete with a freak arm. A great improvisor. Rosen has a very good arm with elite accuracy, elite footwork and pocket presence, and an ELITE brain. Kurt Warner shows you what an elite brain means to a QB. Rosen has every chance to be elite and could be just as effective, if not more, than Mahomes. Also, keep in mind when talking about MAhomes that he has the perfect coach in reid, the perfect development system, and stacked talent around him. Rosen doesn't necessarily have that yet.

That was a very polite way to put that

I'd be pumping the breaks a little. Mahomes in a record breaking QB to start his career. No reason why he will fail, he's the guy I wanted all along. Rosen , I like everything about him, he needs to prove himself though. Dudes had one start so it's very appropriate to say "in time" he might be good.

I remember watching a college game of Mahomes were he made a played awfully similar to the left handed throw he made last night. He just has that special IT that you look for in a PROSPECT. He doesn't just show it on the field, he shows it on the sideline too. I'm not sure if I can describe it, but when the cameras showed him on the bench you can tell he's completely in the game. He's talking to coaches, excited about a play, and dissecting errors. Right after the game winning TD drive last night, I saw Andy sitting with him and they were in a DEEP discussion and Andy was furiously writing notes while Patrick was talking. I'm pretty sure he was asking him what worked on that drive and what didn't. Mahomes was lasered in details. Guys, this type of stuff just DOESN'T HAPPEN often. Mahomes is focused on success and Andy isn't squandering the moment. We could see something very special here. (BTW, this completely contrasts what I saw from Cam Newton on the sidelines in his first few years. He was often self absorbed and immature.)
I remember watching Rosen as a Freshmen. I turned to one of my buddies and said I haven't seen a Freshman like that since Luck. Rosen is special in a WHOLE different way than Mahomes. And make no bones about it, Rosen has the IT too. You can see it in his calm demeanor in the huddle and pocket, through his Aaron Rodgers-like grin after a big play, and through his absolutely PERFECT ball he spins on every throw. That is one confident and talented dude.
However, I still have the exact same reservations about Josh now that I did before the draft: concussions and attitude. Let me explain the latter since the former is obvious. Josh has an "above the game" or laissez faire attitude at times that rubs me the wrong way. For example, there was the time when he threw the pick against Chicago and turned to the sideline and shrugged his shoulders. It's not the hugest thing in the world, but I kinda want a more frustrated reaction than that. Manning would have been furious with himself or the WR. Favre would have had his hands on his helmet in disgust. Rodgers would have been bent over at the waist ready to throw up. I realize that Josh is really young, but some things are just instinctual/genetic. Maybe it's nothing, but it's the same vibe I got off him at UCLA. Love the prospect. Still terrified he's got too much Jay Cutler in him. Can't wait for him to prove me wrong.

When it comes to attitude, I think you could make a decent argument either way as to if it's benificial or not. It's the concussion thing that gives me the most nightmares. I hope and pray that concussions never enter the equation as far as his success goes.
