In this case I hold to the philosophy of "If you aren't in the playoffs, stay far from it." Most fans don't expect too much out of this team in 2018. The major push will be next year when this year's rookies will be able to take off. If this team only wins 6 games, I hope they are all at home so fans at the stadium will have something good to watch at least

Just logically, I dont understand the thinking.
2017: No DJ. Blaine+Stanton. Good D. 8-8
2018: Yes DJ. Bradford+Rosen. Good D. 7-9?
I dont get it. We are a better team this year, clearly. And will be worse?

I dont get it. We are a better team this year, clearly. And will be worse? It makes you wonder if the analysts are just completely failing to actually analyze the Cardinals. I'd get it if it was just the national media, but in Vegas cold, hard odds are their job and I wouldn't expect them to disregard a team just because they are the Cardinals - real money is riding on it and bias shouldn't be a big factor. One report had Vegas placing the Cardinals dead last (like not even tied with second to last Cleveland) in odds to make the playoffs this year. What gives? This IS a better team than last year. Other than "uncertainty", which I suppose might work against a team more often than it works in their favor, the main factors have got to be schedule (3rd hardest in the NFL in 2018?) and the strengthening of the NFC West. I've never wanted to prove 'em wrong more than this year. I get that a losing season bodes well for next year's draft and 2019-beyond, but a third season of breaking even is going to feel like we are back in the dark ages.

Im not offended or anything. I just want to hear good reasoning why we are a worse team. So far I havent heard any. Heck maybe we will be a worse team, but so far none of these odds makers have said why. I seen in that 1st article they say "lost 2 time coach of the year BA". Is that what they are basing it on? I hope they realize players play. Coaching is incredibly overrated. Tom Brady wins superbowls with or without Bill.

all the players have to learn a new system because of a new coach. most teams decline in a new coaches 1st year. rather than just a few free agents blowing assignments its like everybody is a free agent blowing assignment. its harder to unlearn habits than to learn new habits. it take about a year to get comfortable with a new system to the point you are reacting and not thinking, until the new way becomes instinct like the old way is. there was an island that went from being part of france to part of England. as a result their car accident rate went up 5X because it was people habit to drive on the other side of the road. new drivers we actually better drivers than long term drivers since they drove on the proper side of the road, they didn't have to over come their instinct / long term driving habits.
and what has kill the cards the past dew years? injuries. read the camp reviews. people are calling arinas "camp cupcake" and wilks is more smash mouth. smash mouth results in more injuries. we are probably going to have more practice injuries this year. and it doesn't mater if you get injured in a game or in a practice, the result is the same. you cant play at 100% if at all. even with better personnel it is logical to expect fewer wins during the adjustment period and with the greater risk of injury due to starting momentum in one direction off instinct before the brain kicks in and adjust mid move to the new systems play. and that's without even considering the more aggressive practice sessions. but even 6 wins beats the 5.5 betting odds we started the season with. that's a win in the casino, not a loss.

We dont play the Eagles or Patriots. The only 2 noticeably tough teams in the league. All other teams we play, we are on par with. The Falcons should be looking at us the same. "Uh oh we have to play AZ". Rivers, Stafford, Carr, Keenum. We can beat all of them. Even Green Bay. Arod is a great QB, but GB is not a great team. Lack of weapons. We can beat them too.

We’re clearly not on par with Minnesota. Let’s not be delusional about that. Atlanta, Green Bay, & Kansas City are better than us. Not to mention, all 3 of those games are on the road. @ LAC will be tough, & Chicago looks to be on the come up with their great offseason. Looking at the schedule, Denver is the only team I’m 100% sure we’ll beat. Oakland & Detroit I could see us beating, too. We’re also running a different scheme on offense AND defense as well, & that will take time to adjust. Who knows Wilks’ coaching staff will be able to make halftime adjustments like Arians’ did from 2013-2015? Will the ball bounce our way like it did from 2013-2015? If we finish with the worst record in the league, I won’t be too mad because that means we would have Ed Oliver in our hands.

Well judging by how well they did in 2017 I wouldn't lose much sleep over this trash. Rams 6-10, Eagles 8-8, Seahawks 10-6 and on and on and on...

What makes you think we are a better team this year? and we didn't "win" all those games last year we just picked up some Garbage time games that nobody wanted to win lol...hell seattle made sure they had the last play of the game so we couldn`t screw up our "win" Fact is ......Nobody has a clue what we are gonna look like this year...but with a new staff, new offensive and defensive plan, same ole IR specials + a tough schedule =smart money being on a worse season than the last one.......maybe Sam will fool everyone and not get injured ,,,,but i wouldn't bet the farm on it

Thats easy: David Johnson 2 substantially better QB's Better OL (you forget we lost 3 starters on the OL last year)

He played all 16 games and they went 7-9. Minnesota was better off with Keenum. KC has a 1st year QB in Mahomes, who im not impressed by. They were better off with Smith. Bears/Lions/Chargers are all the same. Perennial 8-8's. As I said, they are on par with us, not better. We beat the Falcons last year, so I dont know why youre afraid of them this year. Ironically, Id say Denver is the toughest team on our schedule. Keenum is a good QB and that D is lllllloaded.
