The writer is correct. Given the long Cardinals under-performance and injury riddled history, a 5-7 wins 2018 season should be right on the Vegas money. Fortunately, I'm not wedded to 'old Cardinals' like some writers and don't bet on the Cardinals to overachieve ever. Still 8-8 here until proven wrong in December.

What makes you think we are a better team this year? and we didn't "win" all those games last year we just picked up some Garbage time games that nobody wanted to win lol...hell seattle made sure they had the last play of the game so we couldn`t screw up our "win" Fact is ......Nobody has a clue what we are gonna look like this year...but with a new staff, new offensive and defensive plan, same ole IR specials + a tough schedule =smart money being on a worse season than the last one.......maybe Sam will fool everyone and not get injured ,,,,but i wouldn't bet the farm on it Are you kidding? Thats easy: David Johnson 2 substantially better QB's Better OL (you forget we lost 3 starters on the OL last year) we had most all our guys the 1st game and Detroit spanked us...DJ was there,CP was there and he`s probably better than anyone under center this year or at least as good

We’re clearly not on par with Minnesota. Let’s not be delusional about that. Atlanta, Green Bay, & Kansas City are better than us. Not to mention, all 3 of those games are on the road. @ LAC will be tough, & Chicago looks to be on the come up with their great offseason. Looking at the schedule, Denver is the only team I’m 100% sure we’ll beat. Oakland & Detroit I could see us beating, too. We’re also running a different scheme on offense AND defense as well, & that will take time to adjust. Who knows Wilks’ coaching staff will be able to make halftime adjustments like Arians’ did from 2013-2015? Will the ball bounce our way like it did from 2013-2015? If we finish with the worst record in the league, I won’t be too mad because that means we would have Ed Oliver in our hands. Dont let that contract fool you. Kirk Cousins is not a good QB. He played all 16 games and they went 7-9. Minnesota was better off with Keenum. KC has a 1st year QB in Mahomes, who im not impressed by. They were better off with Smith. Bears/Lions/Chargers are all the same. Perennial 8-8's. As I said, they are on par with us, not better. We beat the Falcons last year, so I dont know why youre afraid of them this year. Ironically, Id say Denver is the toughest team on our schedule. Keenum is a good QB and that D is lllllloaded. Cousins is overrated to hell, but he is better than Keenum. They literally don’t have a weakness anywhere, until they play the Eagles. Andy Reid made Alex Smith look competent, so there’s no doubt in my mind he’ll do the same to a way higher-ceiling QB in Mahomes. Lions the only coin-flip in that 3 team listing. We beat the Falcons last year? Do you mean you? In Madden? Wow, that’s wild. We beat the Falcons without even playing them. Amazing. Broncos’ offense is complete garbage, Keenum will not have Shurmur’s creativity nor Diggs & Thielen to bail him out anymore. Where is the D loaded? The pass-rushers? I agree there. That’s it really.

And DJ was there...for 2 quarters. The score was 10-9 the moment DJ got hurt. We win that game if he finishes it. For 1.5 quarters. He already had almost 100 yards when he got injured. He was eating them alive. We only lost by 12 points, without DJ. And CP threw 3 INTs that game. CP had a good 2015, and that it. I would take a Rookie Rosen over CP, easily.

It makes you wonder if the analysts are just completely failing to actually analyze the Cardinals. I'd get it if it was just the national media, but in Vegas cold, hard odds are their job and I wouldn't expect them to disregard a team just because they are the Cardinals - real money is riding on it and bias shouldn't be a big factor. One report had Vegas placing the Cardinals dead last (like not even tied with second to last Cleveland) in odds to make the playoffs this year. What gives? This IS a better team than last year. Other than "uncertainty", which I suppose might work against a team more often than it works in their favor, the main factors have got to be schedule (3rd hardest in the NFL in 2018?) and the strengthening of the NFC West. I've never wanted to prove 'em wrong more than this year. I get that a losing season bodes well for next year's draft and 2019-beyond, but a third season of breaking even is going to feel like we are back in the dark ages. It doesnt bother me. Im not offended or anything. I just want to hear good reasoning why we are a worse team. So far I havent heard any. Heck maybe we will be a worse team, but so far none of these odds makers have said why. I seen in that 1st article they say "lost 2 time coach of the year BA". Is that what they are basing it on? I hope they realize players play. Coaching is incredibly overrated. Tom Brady wins superbowls with or without Bill. I think Bill taught Brady a bunch in his early years. How many hours of tape did they go through together? I bet the first 5 years it was, a bunch. As far as the article, like you say it’s about the players. I believe the club have a good group this season. So, you never know!

everyone has an opinion...heres mine
qb-cp was better than Bradford is...rosen is a ROOKIE...I personally liked Stanton and gabbert better than glennon
rb-obviously if dj plays 16 games that's better...behind him-completely unproven
ol-wasnt very good with starters on the field last year...pugh mite be ok as a run blocker...smith is definitely not an upgrade
wr-this year like last year is larry and a bunch of guys...kirk could be the difference
dl-counting on rn and Gunther too much
lb-buc may be too small for 4-3...Reddick should be better...no depth
db-there is STILL no proven 2nd corner on roster...baker is a star in the making...safety position looks good
st-i don't see how coverage units cant be better and hopefully cards will have a returner this year who can make some big plays
overall I feel the roster is worse mainly because cp retired...new hc, new system on both sides of the ball, a brutal schedule...to me=3-13
