He played most of the schedule in college, missed a game or two but not certain why. Remember he is a running back. They do get injured from time to time. So you say "RBs get injured from time to time" and then argue that David doesnt have an injury history? So which is it? Is David some ironman or is he RB who gets injured? assbackwards nonsense. Arguing for the sake of it. They do get injured at that position. He missed a few games in college. Played in the majority of them. He's neither an ironman or an injury prone RB. The world is only black and white to you. You cannot show me the 7 games you claim he has missed. Arguing with you is like debating with a homeless none. EDIT: for the sake of straightening out the record here. David Johnson missed ONE game in college. What's confusing is Northern Iowa plays an uneven amount of games. But I compared the record of N Iowa with the games DJ played. So he's had one injury in the NFL that put him out after playing in all 16 games two straight season. Now lets wait for Zaz to come up with the 7 injuries that caused missed games.

Doesnt matter what they are. If its a torn ACL or a sprained toe, missed time is missed time. And all this started by discussing should he get his mega deal now. Answer: No. He has 1 great season. 1 IR season. He needs to stay healthy in 2018 and play well again. Even if hes not injury-prone, hes been injured often enough to cause pause.

What were the 7 injuries and what time off did it result in. sounds like zaz is backpedaling here big time. He's just had one injury really as a pro. NFL running backs are the most injured position in football. He had one injury. I agree with you this was not a "freakish" injury but it's not like he tore up his knee. You keep going to this injury card of his that does not exist. Zaz hyperbole.

if you add up all rushing yards for the last 3 years dj ranks #72. his 3 year totals have him averaging 3rd string results. he is no gurly. he is no levon. he is not an eliete running back. there are 32 teams so 64 would be those who achieve starter status and their backup. the only way dj is a top ten rusher is if you mean among 3rd stringers. he has not earned big money. #72. and you guys want to compare him to #1 and #2. a Ferrari can be a million dollars. that does not mean you should pay a million dollars for a chevette just because its a car too. the cards are just starting to get the salary cap under control and there is no reason to blow it now. they are going to need that money for the offensive line. how many superbowls have we been to since dj joined the team? rosen has the potential to take us there but will need a good line. dj like fitz is not the difference between going to the super bowl or not. you have to invest the cap in the future, not squander it on a player who will not even still be starting in the nfl when we go to the super bowl. dj is not a youngster, his career is already half over. his injurys? he has ended the past two season on injured reserve. he has not shown even one he is durable enough to play a full season and be healthy for the play offs. mcl sprain to end 2016 and couldn't even finish the 1st game of 2017. there is a reason he ranks #72 in rushing yards for the past 3 seasons despite showing potential. he is not durable enough to do it long term. sportsinjurypredictor.com/player/david-johnson/7262they have his chance to be injured at over 50%. read the page. he came into the nfl on the injured list and couldn't even practice to start training camp or ota's. name an injury other than last year? you name a single year he hasn't. he has started or ended every single season on the injured list. that's why he's #72. you don't win by paying #72 like he is #1. if you do something that you have to pay #1 like he was #72 to fit under the cap and lose the player who really was the difference between winning and losing. dj is a part timer wanting full time money. that's why he wants a guaranteed contract rather than an incentive based contract. he wants the money garenteed he himself doubts he car earn. and with the cap that means he wants to take the money from the players who are earning it so he doesn't have too. trying to steal from your team mates is not a good player. he's a #72 leading rusher, he should be paid like it.
