This might be a great movie, but I'll wait till it shows up on HBO. I don't do movie theaters anymore... Funny line from the video... Hey DudeThat alone might make it worth watching.... And biggs… "Great date movie. If you're into older women."...at my age, I am into older woman....I wouldn't be able to afford a young one.

For the record, I prefer the term 'experienced lady' versus 'older woman.' And the "experienced beautiful lady of my dreams come true" certainly prefers her experienced gentleman. Me. Life is good at our casa. Go Cards! ARI football in two months. Yea!

I wasn't sure if I should post this, but this is a category is for off topics. Believe it or not, me and the Beatles have a strong connection. I'm not talking about that I liked their music ( and I did ), but they were pretty much responsible for my lifetime employment. The Beatles signed with Capitol Records. When they went big, Capitol Records did not have the record manufacturing capacity to accommodate them. They needed a new plant to meet the needs. Well they met that by building one in my hometown....Jacksonville IL. When I graduated from high school, I went to work there.....I spent almost my entire life working at that plant.....40 years. Granted it went from vinyl records to 8 track, to cassette tapes, compact disc, and finally to just a distribution center. If you have an old vinyl Capitol Record. Look at the label, it may say manufactured in Jacksonville IL. And if it does, who knows, I may have made it....lol. If they did not sign with Capitol Records, that plant would not have been built. So I thank the Beatles for their music, but maybe more importantly, I thank them for giving me a lifetime of employment. Just one of many good songsThank you Beatles….

thomas cat Thank you for sharing that about your career and connection to Capitol Records and the Beatles. I grew up in England and remember hearing their music and I have been a huge fan ever since. My wife and I went to a Paul McCartney concert in Phoenix in 2006 I believe and he was amazing. He did not take a break and was on stage for 3 hours either playing with his band or solos on guitar or the piano. Thank you for helping and being part of making the great music of the Beatles available for everyone !

thomas cat Thank you for your post and the links for Scandal. How did you hear about this band ? I just turned 60 on Sunday and I am originally from Coventry, England. My musical claim to fame is that I went to school and played football (soccer) at age 10 with Terry Hall the lead singer of The Specials. Their song "Ghost Town" was about Coventry and the hard economic and other problems there the early 80's.

If you are a Bruce Springsteen fan, Blinded by the Light is a British drama film directed by Gurinder Chadha who made Bend It Like Beckham and comes out tomorrow.
Inspired by the life of journalist Sarfraz Manzoor and his obsession with Bruce Springsteen, the film is set in Luton, England in 1987.

While searching for old songs on Youtube, Scandal kept popping up on the recommended list. So I finally clicked on one of them...
This one to be specific...new linkI was immediately hooked. I miss good old rock and roll and even though I couldn't understand most of what they were saying, they fit the bill. Knowing Terry Hall, that's pretty cool. I'm afraid I can't say that about any of my old school friends. I think a couple of them may have been in local bar bands, but that's about it. As far as the film Blinded by the Light goes that you mentioned. I just read a review and it does sound like it may well be worth watching,

For the record having dated both younger and more age appropriate women, I haven't seen a big financial advantage one way or another. A good women of any age is worth whatever it costs if they make you happy and make you a better human being. Conversely if they make you want to put a gun in your mouth and blow your brains out you might consider a more diversified portfolio.
