Anyone sorry that Hollywood was not in the game today?
Anyone unhappy that UDFA Dortch played a LOT today
as receiver and kick returner? Could Hollywood do that and do it as well?
Sorry, I just couldn't restrain myself from pointing out the
cost vs. benefit difference between the two players. And Dortch does it regularly. A performer working for peanuts
who deserves much praise and has earned a reworked contract or bonus...
IMHO, as always.
Although the new coaches didn't give him a chance at WR until 8 or 9 games into the season, he picked up the millions Brown left on the table.

Although the new coaches didn't give him a chance at WR until 8 or 9 games into the season Yeah, that's a puzzle. He was effective before this season as a receiver despite his stature. A gamer.

Good one. I should have been more specific and said, an on-the-field gamer...

I don’t think it’s to the contrary at all. I believe they were always sticking with Kyler and while I am not his biggest fan, I am okay with that. I want to build a strong team to the point you can plug in other QB’s and succeed. See Niners and Browns. I think this shows Kyler needs a strong run game to have success. Kyler played a great game and did not lose it, but the oline and run game is why they won this game.Everyone has been wanting more Dortch for over two years. I don't see how anyone can marginalize Kyler as not being credited as a part of why we won this game. That argument to me suggests that it wouldn't have mattered had Tune been the starting QB against the Eagles and I find that very hard to believe. I did not say he was not part of it, he played a good game. They won because of the oline and run game first and foremost. Without that he does not have the success he had. He was a part of it for sure.

I disagree with Bob's characterization of the onside kick attempt as "botched." To me it was brilliant. Not quite on the same level as the Cards under Buddy Ryan taking a safety on purpose with about the same amount of time left in the game and then eventually winning, but obviously it reminded me of that. It's impossible to say how things may have ended if Gannon had merely elected to kick off, but the bottom line is the D could not allow a TD, period, either way. Attempting the onside may have had the effect of leaving more time on the clock after the Eagles FG.

Next week - I see the NFL scheduled the Bears at Packers game as a LATE game because if the Packers win, I think the Seahawks are OUT of the playoffs. So Seattle will play to win as they won't know the result of the Bears/Packers contest in advance.
The Texans at Colts game is a SATURDAY game and the Colts will have EVERY Cardinal fan being a HUGE Colts fanatic next Saturday ... Texans must NOT make the playoffs !!!
As the season winds down, I love that the rookie class had over 2,000 snaps in aggregate while the previous regime would have played the rookies less than 400 snaps. However Cameron Thomas was a healthy inactive and the team was playing someone named Hoskins in front of him. Soon there will only be McBride retained from SK's draft picks.
P.S. Jets haven't beat the Patriots since around 2015 and the game will be the last for Belichick as the Pats coach (most likely). MHJ is still very much in line to become a Cardinal and if the Bears decide to keep Fields and draft MHJ, then the Cards can get a king's ransom to trade down from #3. NOTE: I am assuming the Pats win at home vs. Jets as the Pats gave the Bills all they wanted today.

The Commanders and Cardinals switched positions. The order now is Carolina (Chicago), Washington, New England, Arizona. The Cardinals still can get MHJ. I expect the 1-2-3 teams to focus on QBs. I expect Chicago to trade down.

Kyler deserves credit for his work here. This was an offense clicking against a team that really needed a win. Yea Eagles have struggled but doesn't diminish the credit we need to give to coaching staff and Kyler and Co.
The Eagles though sure look like a dysfunctional group. wow. Fletcher Cox is normally a beast, maybe he's done I don't know
We've known Kyler will be the man moving forward, to see him play like this is important. Still have a high draft pick. Maybe the best LT in the draft?

Great Stuff - note on the nice run play at 1:06 that Petzing had 3 TE's (McBride/Higgins/Vokolek) in the formation. I am sure glad Monti picked up Higgins who started slow (missed an easy catch in the Texans game which might have turned that game into a Cards victory) but Kyler is looking for him and Higgins has produced over the last 4-5 games. He is under contract for $1,055,000 cap # for 2024 -- bargain pricing and I look forward to see how many more ways Petzing utilizes the TE room in 2024.

Higgins did have a rough start, had another mistake that I have since forgotten, but has come back nicely. Depending what kind of receiving targets we land for Kyler early, I like Ben Sinnott from K state in the mid rounds 3/4. I guess some would consider him another slight TE at 6’4’ 245 lbs, but I like him.

I agree about Higgins and Vokolek I posted on another thread is a big blocking TE who could be another great get off Ravens PS. I think Carter may be the best PS signing in 2023 what a weapon at a position of need without spending draft capital.
