Took Harrison at three. With the 2nd first round pick - obtained my favorite tackle target for RT. It was nice having an option of QB at pick two. Either pick the next guy, or obtain a crazy ransom. Almost picked Johnny Wilson, but I took the LB instead. While it would have been fascinating to have a 6'7" receiver that runs a 4.5, I figured we could use all the run D help that we could get. Finished the draft off with some IOL competition. Let the kaiju fight.

Thought I would take a look and address the title 'Mock Draft' and this one came up - www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/nfl-mock-draft-2024-patriots-in-position-for-qb-drake-maye-jayden-daniels-lands-in-round-1/ar-AA1l1JjyThe Cardinals are #3 and following two Quarterback's decide to take Marvin Harrison Jr. With the Houston pick (projected #18) we go with Chop Robinson, Penn State, DE. I think something of this order is most likely (if we finish up #3), don't trade down and take Harrison. A Defensive Linesman is the most obvious choice with the second pick as the elite Tackles will have gone, and thus the defensive line options will, most likely, appear 'better value' at this point. It should be noted that Laiatu Latu, Jer'Zhan Newton, Dallas Turner and Jared Verse are all projected gone (hence the Cardinals take what might be considered the next best option, who has good potential for the future). I am a strong advocate of DL, OT and WR (listed in alphabetical order) for the first three picks, even though I would be highly tempted with a Trade Down scenario should an appropriate opportunity present (which should give us an extra top 40 pick and some extra high draft capital in 2025). However, leaving the OT position until the second round has it's consequences, as it will severely limit our options at the Offensive Tackle position. We may get 'lucky' at the top of the second round, but remember our Tackle's are the bookends of the line and, as such, are the guardians of the QB's wellbeing and they will also set the tone for the entire Offensive effort. All a conundrum I know, but these are the things to weigh upon before deciding that pick #3 (however tempting it may seem).

Today's updated WF Stock Up/Stock Down has 3 surprising "DOWN" players but some interesting newcomers in the "Stock Up" category of risers which could be available with some of the Cardinal 3rd round selections. Latest "Surprising" Stock Up/Stock DownNot sure that your link works.

Interesting mock. Pretty different from what I'm used to seeing. Latu is a cool pick. He's a pass rushing technician. I live how he can transition to an inside move to get after the run game or QB. 2 thongs though... 1 Does he have enough athletic upside. The combine will be very important for him. 2. He had to medically retire from a program. Kinda like Jaelen Phillips in that regard...and he worked out. Surprised that Maye wasn't taken earlier.. Wondering why we didn't go with a tackle at 3, trade down, or look at Bowers or Nabers.

He's fast and effective at the D1 level today. The bodies are bigger and guys are meaner at the next level. I also love Bowers. He was hobbled at the ALA v. GA game. I did not get to see the best TE performance. Lastly, Maye is going in the top 5.

Been thinking of an interesting trade possibility -- how can the Cowboys (who are $15M over the cap for 2024) sign Dak, Parsons & CeeDee Lamb. Especially if Dak wins MVP and gets $60M/APY ?? How about a trade for CeeDee Lamb who is now maybe around the 5th best WR in the NFL.
IF KM1 shows he is the QBOF this coming weekend but Cards lose a close game, Cards could do a blockbuster trade down from position #2 or #3 to a lower first round pick and then add a 2nd, 3rd rounder and possibly a 2025 1st round pick. Tyreek Hill who is better than Lamb was traded for a 1st (way down though at #29), 2nd & 4th rounder with a lower draft pick in following years draft. It was also rumored the Chiefs were ready to pull the trade with a Jets offer which would have gained the Chiefs picks No. 35, 38 and 69 while the Jets would have gotten Hill and pick No. 103.
So with the above trade down scenario - the Cards would give up the "EXTRA - Free" 2nd and 3rd round picks gained in the trade down along with a 2025 3rd rounder for Cee Dee Lamb. The combination of this trade down and trade would be the Cards would have gained a 2025 1st rounder (lose a 2025 3rd rounder) and still have two (2) upper half of the 2024 1st round draft picks AND still have a franchise tall WR. These moves in comparison to the "stick and pick" option of MHJ at #3.
The above scenario allows the Cardinals by just the end of the first day to greatly enhance 3 weak spots - WR, OT & Edge or DL.
BTW: Cee Dee Lamb won't turn 25 until next April

This was great. I just wish they would have asked him about going with Bo Nix with the second pick.

How about a trade for CeeDee Lamb who is now maybe around the 5th best WR in the NFL. I am thinking that Mike/ Monti will keep the purse strings closed and tight for such a big 'high cost' deal. - How much might CeeDee Lamb be after, $20M?
