One explanation may be Ohio State guard who by far is the best guard in 2024 draft. Although Cleveland could be moved with a trade in 2024 or they have insight on him as being close with the Vikings staff. The Texan 1st is trending to put Cards in position for a generational guard and may be the best OL for Cards if Paris is moved to LT and he and an old teammate could play next to each other. I genuinely believe the Cards staff like the pass blocking of Demarcado and Connor to return give them the RB depth they desire. If Cards end up with the first pick, they could get WR Harrison, CB Kool Aid and G Donovan Jackson. Three of the best at their positions in the draft. That would be a 1st round better than most team’s entire draft. The 2023 Lions draft to get a starting DB, RB, MLB and TE set the bar high for teams in 2024. On the bright side, with Connor on IR for several weeks, ARZ fans are finally seeing what Demarcado can do as the #1RB, and frankly, I like what I'm seeing out of this young man. He really ran well against the Ravens #2 ranked D and caused their DL to have fits last week. Paring Connor and Demarcado might be the smash-mouth RB duo we've sought for years. We'll know the answer when Connor comes off IR any day. Not making light of the young kid I believe it's been the oline and the oline coaching. I have seen some very good holes and pancaking of defensive players lol. Connor was a beast before the injury and should be back soon.

You can believe whatever you want but there's not a defense in the world that can stay on the field the entire time and do their job. Looking at time of possession shows you how long the defense was on the field this argument isn't supported by the facts. Arizona was near 50% time of possession this season. Against 1. Baltimore 30:21 2. Seattle 30:32 3. Rams 30:30 4. Cincy 21:50 5. 49's 29:14 6. Cowboys 25:27 7. Giants 30:37 8. Washington 28:36 Really? Try just doing the second half! They actually look ok and in almost every game the first half. Then outside of the cowboy game in late against Baltimore the offense didn't score very many points. If you want to believe in something enough you can always find a stat that eases your mind how about we go with second half points? Dobbs and the O sucked after halftime padded by 10 points with the game well out of hand late against Baltimore. Shocking last place 32 out of 32. www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/2nd-half-points-per-gameTime of possession the second half shocking again last 32 out of 32. www.teamrankings.com/nfl/stat/2nd-half-time-of-possession-share-pct25 of 32 the whole game. Don't let hand picked stats deceive what your eyes are already telling you.

They are still only being on the field about 50% of the game. Hand picked that is every game under Dobbs.

Is that solely on the offense or is it that the defense can't get off the field ? I will give you the benefit of the doubt for now. When Kyler returns we can revisit this time of possession thing again.

It slays me how this board is for the most part. We bring in a QB 1 week before the season starts. The board consensus is we will not win any games this year. Yet the QB plays hard, can run hard when it's needed. AND he Beat the Freakin POKES! Yet he's trash? The New regime stripped out all the old talent because of bad contracts. We have mostly raw untested talent all over the team! Yet Dobbs lost every game **BY HIMSELF!!** according to "expert" fans here. The support cast for Dobbs was Conner. The team is on it's 3rd LG if I got that right. WE lost both starting Interior DL early in the season. Yet DOBBS LOST EVERY GAME (except the Pokes) By HIMSELF!

Have you considered this has less to do with Dobbs and more to do with getting something back in return? I think they like Dobbs and know he didn't get much help. But coach also liked Tune in the draft and we've heard he's improved. Rumor is Monti likes Bo Nix as well. If we are planning to take another QB next year, even in round 2 or 3, which I think is our plan, we need another slot opened up. And Dobbs played well enough he'd get more money next year so this was win-win for all. The only way this doesn't work is if Kyler sucks or gets hurt again. I'd have kept Dobbs if Kyler wasn't in my plan, but if Kyler is in the plan, you have to move Dobbs unless they think Tune is trash. And I think they'll give Tune at least 2 years to prove himself.

We could have made out on this trade with a pack of smokes and a root beer for him ... Guess Tune is safe for now. I bet Murray plays on Sunday . The tie breaker for the closest score should be how many rushing yards Murray gets.

The Dobbs trade makes sense if you accept a few simple things.
1. Kyler is ready to go this weekend or soon thereafter. 2. They like Tune, the first QB this regime has drafted, and have him in the plan as a cheap backup next year. He will cost exactly $1 million next year on his rookie 5th rounder deal. $1.1 million in 2025. 3. Dobbs is a free agent after this season, and a 1-7 QB for us and 1-9 in his NFL career, yet impress3d enough to likely get a high QB2 or low QB1 type deal next year. 4. WE ARE NOT TRYING TO WIN THIS YEAR! (Not tanking, just playing with 2024 and beyond in mind)
If these four things are true, and you suddenly have a desperate team like the Vikings at 4-4 with no QB right at the NFL trade deadline, you deal Dobbs. I wish they got more than a 6th, but only by a round or so. He’s only a 1-7, nine game rental at this point.

Not what I'm commenting about at all. It's the trashing of a QB that played hard and tried hard. Yet with a young developing team got trashed because he did not rack up the wins. The wins that this team even if Tune started was Not supposed to win. If I was in a foxhole and Dobbs was a fellow soldier I would be Proud to have him by my side in the fight. And Dobbs knew that as soon as K1 was ready he would be a back up QB again. Dobbs put out Good tape and the Vikes made the trade because of it. I wish Dobbs Great Success with a better roster around him. He deserves it. And the trash talkers can go bite wind.

To get a cheap vet some of the coaches had coached before to install the offense. We paid him $667,000.

That failed completely and now they don’t need him anymore. He was never a long term thing unless he did very well.

So a better team in the running for postseason looks to a failure of a QB to save their chances? That doesn't make sense. The fact of the matter is he played well under very limited circumstances and the question is whether he can continue to do so with better weapons and coaching around him. The Vikings saw how well he did with the Cardinals.
