Houston about to lose to Indy, which is fantastic for us. Indy is likely one of the worst teams they will face. Titans looked like they were going to win but the Chargers tied the game right at the end with a FG. Go Chargers!

Cards 0-2, with a loss at the very end Texans 0-2 Titans 1-1 with a win at the very end
Other draft position games of interest:
#30 power ranked Colts win, due to playing the Texans. That’s good for us. #29 Bears lose and join us at 0-2 #28 Giants win due to playing us. Silver lining? #26 Rams lose to 49ers, but are 1-1 and look better than I thought they would #24 Bucs win due to playing the Bears and are 2-0

As of tonight, we are looking at a certain 14 more losses. The only game that’s up in the air is @houston. Even there, the Texans get the home field advantage.

I know a few folks who must be awful miffed we didn't take a flyer...

Raiders have the 2nd hardest strength of schedule so I believe they (McDeniel-era is probably coming to a close) and the Broncos could by vying for a top 5 pick in the 2024 draft. Broncos have a pretty tough schedule with their head coach really wanting to coach for the Chargers. The latter will definitely be looking for a new coach ... maybe even DURING the season. Another team could be the Colts but Richardson has looked pretty good (however injured during his first 2 games as a pro) but Minchew provides them a competent backup and Colts have the 3rd EASIEST schedule.

I’m a humble man with low expectations, and merely want the Texans to “earn” the top pick, while we continue to improve and improve this year, even if it means we fall out of the top five. But if we do somehow get two of the top three, AND if Kyler looks healthy, we will be in historically good shape with our draft ammunition and $75-100 million in cap space. The draft will help us build long term, the free agency will have more immediate impact, and both should be very positive.

0-2 Texans face the Jaguars, and the 1-1 Titans face the 1-1 Browns in the early games.
A few more early games with draft impact. Chargers and Vikings play each other, so one of them will get their first win, and the other will be 0-3. The 0-2 Patriots play the Rodgersless Jets so have a shot at their first win. The Broncos will likely be 0-3 going against Miami.
In the afternoon we likely lose to the Cowboys and remain winless. Same for the Bears vs the Chiefs.
On Monday night the Bengals try for win #1 against the Rams. They might well get it.

So, of the 9 winless teams in the race to the top on early Sunday morning, the most likely losers by late Sunday are the Rams, Bears, Texans, Vikings, Patriots, Broncos, and Cardinals. These six teams will be 0-3 with 14 to go on 9/25. The Bears, Texans, Broncos, and Cardinals are odds-on favorites to continue their futility streaks into the 4th week week. The Bears and Browns play that week. One team will not be winless. My nod is for the Bears to notch a first win. That leaves the Broncos, Texans, and Cardinals as most likely to be 0-4 in early October. I ran the fairytale numbers again on 9/24. Per my calendar, calculator, and ouija board, the Cardinals and Broncos are odds favorites to both finish 2023 at 0-17. The Cardinals play the Texans and the Bears. One team has to win or tie. The Cardinals do not play the Broncos. Both teams can go winless, hypothetically and per the ouija. Heck of a race, huh.

Raiders I think will win enough games to take them out of the running for the #! pick. the bears though even though they have a very weak schedule they are bad. All I know is things are getting worse in Houston and we definitely are gonna be in the running, it's coming down to where if they play KM.

Either way if Kyler is the guy we are gonna have a shot at very good players.

Don't count out the Bears management to do something dumb and screw up the locker room leadership more. The trendline is toward zero wins. The team has a nasty QB issue in 2023, similar to the Cardinals in 2022.

Bears are desperate for Williams or Maye. Their fan base wants a new QB. We take Williams, trade pick 2 to the Bears for picks 3 and 4, threading we are trading the puck to someone else otherwise. They take Maye, we take WR Harrison Jr and TE Bowers and have an offensive dynasty.

Come on Jacksonville!! DUUUUUUUVAAAAALLL! The Jags have beaten Houston just once in the past 10 games. Houston, no matter how good either team is, just seems to have their number.
