If the man thinks he's worth more than vet minimum, but no one will pay him more, then a one year deal would be ideal in his situation. The cardinals are somewhat known for one year deals working out for their players in the secondary, so if he was smart, he'd come to us once he finds out no one is going to pay the big bucks.

that he feels disrespect is a huge red flag. the cards were the only team to offer himm anything, even the league minimum and probably did that as a favor from wilks, who was his defensive coordinator when the panthers couldn't even get a low round draft pick for him in the final year of his rookie "cheap" contract so they just cut him deciding he was not even worth 4th round rookie money which would have been about 675k. why would wilks even offer him the league minimum now then? cap management. "Veteran Minimum Benefits When qualified, a player with four (4) or more years of NFL experience can earn his total minimum salary, but have a cap figure that reflects two years of experience – or in 2017, $630,000. The contract must be for only one year, and must not contain combined bonus money (signing, roster, workout) that exceeds $90,000. For instance, let’s pretend Frank Gore signs with the Miami Dolphins in 2018 on a 1 year, minimum salary contract. With 10+ years of experience, he’ll be slotted for a $1,015,000 base salary. With four or more years of experience (11), and a 1 year contract, Gore qualifies for the veteran cap hit benefit. His 2018 cap figure with the Dolphins would be $630,000. Had he received a bonus (signing, roster, workout) up to the maximum $90,000, he would have received a total $1.105M contract, with a $1M base salary, an $90,000 signing bonus, and a cap figure of $720,000 (630+90). With plenty of veterans being released, or not signed back thus far in 2018, the use of the Minimum Salary Benefit Rule becomes useful both for older players looking for jobs, and teams looking to minimize their cap dollars." www.spotrac.com/blog/nfl-minimum-salaries-for-2018/so while he was offered around 880k he would only count about 500k against the salary cap or cost as much as a rookie. his agent should have known that. wilks was his coach for 3 years and sandiago coaches had him for 1 year. wilks knows what the kid can and cant do, he was being brought in as insurance, as a back up. boston is not as good as the honey badger who we already let go rather than over pay, and at the same position, safety. wilks already seen that he was not worth big bucks, but could effectively get him on sale for 40% of on a salary cap hit / sale. rather than saying thanks for the chance but he wants to wait and see if a better offer comes along he goes out and bashes the only team to give him a chance? I think an attitude problem may be part of why he's not worth it. and after that interview any gm how might have been thinking about giving him another chance is going to have second thoughts. he's looking for a 3rd team in 3 years. not since he was drafted has he been offered a multi year contract meaning no one has ever choosen to offer him one. he got the rooky 4 year offer because it was mandatory at budget salary, and his team decided he was not even worth that and failing to even be offered a 7th round draft pick for him just cut him. the team that gave him a second chance decided he blew it. and the only team that gave him a 3rd chance "disrespected" him. rather than feeling grateful he feels insulted. well good luck kid and I hope you earned your degree and chose a good major. you are gonna need it. and I doubt your next job is gonna offer you almost 900k a year. if you ever hire another agent for anything.....hire someone smarter than you are, that's what you are paying them for. someone smarter would tell you that you have the right to remain silent use it. when you are looking for a job where there are more workers than jobs, and you've been fired from your last two jobs, you don't insult the only employer to offer you a 3rd strike publicly where the other 29 hiring offices see you consider offering you a job insulting and attacked for it. if you've been fire from the only two paying jobs you've ever had...you probably cant expect to be guaranteed to be paid as employee of the month. you are going to have to take the probationary offer and prove yourself before getting big bucks.

It seems like the Cards are eyeing Branch to see if he's healthy but at some point they need another safety. They might already have that safety on their roster thanks to Keim's genius undrafted rookies drafts that he's been fruitful with over the years and maybe Rudy Ford makes a push. He's a good athlete that keeps learning.

Keim obviously called this one right and nobody else gave Boston more. All the moaning and groaning you did and they still got him. Great signing however it played out. Go back and read your posts, quite comical.

Ole fatty 9 pints accomplished nothing this offseason. Day 8 of his suspension and suddenly we land the biggest free agent out there? I say Terry Time, you say...who cares what you say, you empathize with a 2 time drunkard. Both of ya are irrelevant.

Same ol' same ol' from Zaz the same ol'. No you just continue to make yourself look dumb with your whining. All that for nothing because the guy signed and for all accounts signed the contract Keim offered. And now keim is a drunkard but you defend Baker Mayfield (who will suck) for being drunk. Different scenarios but still example of your hypocricy and flat out being wrong so often. It’s funny you continue to act to arrogant after screwing so much up. It’s all good, glad you are here because when you keep it cool you actually have some good thoughts and perspective.
