How about THREE (3) Day One trades by wheeler-dealer Monti -
1) Trade #4 for Vikings #11, #23 & 2025 1st Rounder 2) Trade the former Vikes pick #11 along with pick #90 (I was surprised this fits the trade chart) to go up 3 spots to the Falcons at #8. I believe the Falcons like both Dallas Turner and Jared Verse so their objective is they then get Verse at #11 while picking up a 3rd rounder. AZ PICK @ #8: Rome Odunze WR, Washington 3) Now for a trade that makes sense for both teams that I haven't seen - Raiders want a QB but don't have the draft capital to move up from #12, however they see Penix on the Board at #27. TRADE: Cardinals trade down with Raiders (#27) and pick up picks #44 AND #70 (On Draft Value Chart this is pick # 27 (680) for picks #44 - #70 (480+205 = 685). Because it is for a QB - Monti also requests and receives a 2025 4th rounder !!
SO -- at end of Day 1 and projecting into Day #2, this is the haul which Monti could get [SEVEN out of the top 71 picks in a loaded 2024 draft]: #8 - Rome Odunze WR, Washington #23 - DL (one of these top 2 DL's fall to this spot) - so either Byron Murphy, Jr. or J. Newton !! #35 - Edge Chop Robinson, Penn State #44 - Ennis Rakestraw, CB, Missouri. #66 - Cooper Beebe, Guard, Kansas State #70 - Double up on HUSKIES - Ja’Lynn Polk, WR, Washington. #71 - Safety Cole Bishop, Utah (Budda replacement going forward) #104 (4th Rd) - RB Jaylen Wright, TN or maybe Monti wants go 3x Huskies - Dillon Johnson RB, Washington (I like Wright a bit better) 2025 EXTRA 1st Rounder (Vikes) 2025 EXTRA 4th Rounder (Raiders)
NOTE: Dillon Johnson was an early Top 30 visit for the Cardinals.

Here is an article that may be of interest, it's basically about the same thing. Cardinals Should Get Massive Trade for First Pick
I'm not making any predictions but if we can really get 3 #1's, I'm all for it. Maybe we would miss out on a supposedly generational player, but we will have 3 shots to get someone that might be close. With smart choices, maybe all three. I'm sure we won't see it live, but what I would give to be in the draft room when our #4 pick nears. Monti taking and making phone calls, who says what and ultimately what happens. Drama at its best....lol Agree, if an idiot GM offers 3 1sts for #4, and the trade partner is the the Giant's GM with #6, that's a winner. I was listening to NFL.com while driving this morning. The discussion that caught my attention is the JJ McCarthy hype. He's moving up fast, if you believe the sock puppets. Thus, the value of the Cardinals pick at #4 might be increasing the next 14 days. We'll know on April 26th.

Good poll. Please vote if you haven't done so.
I hear fans from other teams wanting our #4 pick and offering a premier player along with a couple of 2024 draft picks. One laugher was CeeDee Lamb for #4 straight up. Ha ha ha ha.
Don't take the premier player. Why? His contract. The CAP hit. The player's ego!
A rookie contract is set for 4 years at a known cost, typically lower cost than a veteran's contract. A veteran player contract has no set cost limit after 1 year. The veteran player can walk out, seek RFA and disrupt the locker room, seek a costly contact extension, etc. The player wins. The Cardinals lose. No thanks.

Now that we are 2 weeks away, I think the Giants make a move next week to move up to #4. Vikings seemingly are talking to the Chargers at #5 to get a cheaper trade up deal than Monti's 3 firsts. The Giants have been laying back and even having the GM come out this week stating they don't necessarily need to draft a QB. One rule you can count on in "draft season" -- once you get within 2 weeks of the draft, almost 90% of what teams representatives (GM/Owner/HC) volunteer to the media is the opposite of what they really believe. I think early this next week, the Giants are calling Monti with a couple different trade options to move up to #4. The Giants only hesitation to me is there are rumors the Pats might take McCarthy at #3 allowing Drake Maye to get to #4. You would think the possibility of Maye going to #4 could awaken the Giants/Vikings/Broncos to get even a little more interested in #4. I believe the Chargers may have told Nabers he is their target at #5 and if true, Monti can make a trade with the Giants AND STILL GET MHJ. Chargers on roster already have last years #1 (Johnston at 6'4") and Josh Palmer at 6'2" so I believe they like Nabers over MHJ for 6'5" Justin Herbert who will have no trouble seeing Nabers getting separation from corners. A few days ago Nabers in an interview kind of threw shade on the Giants and their QB situation -- would he do that unless he is very confident in being selected at #5 and not #6 ? The other day the morning sports programs were having a good laugh about this Nabers interview. Malik Nabers goes house hunting in LA after Top 30 visit with Chargers
Trade proposals to the Giants if they make a call next Monday to Monti - even a rumor about the Giants could also sweeten any Vikings deal - Cards #4 and #138 for Giants #6 and #47
- Cards #4 and 2025 4th rounder for #6 & #47
- Cards #4 -for Giants #6, #70 and 2025 2rd rounder
NOTE: I think Monti will want #47 because it increases his flexibility to then take either #35 or #47 - trade back 7-10 slots and pick up another mid to late 3rd rounder in 2024 draft.
********************************************************************************** These Giants fans are adamant the Giants need to draft a QB and make the point this allows the team to get off Daniel Jones next year and save $30M in cap $$ which can be used to go get a WR. They also make the very astute point that Brian Daboll was brought in as a "QB Whisperer" and so since the team knows Daniel Jones in not the future, the team would just be wasting Daboll's talents as a QB-guru. Giants apparently hold private workout for Drake Maye

It's going to be a helluva night on April 26th. We might see a record number of trades that night. So many QBs. So many WRs. GMs might do multiple trades in Round 1.

According to the current state of the poll it appears that the forum is edging towards rejecting the overtures coming from Minnesota. The tide seems to be turning due to the 'pull of the Receiver' and the attraction that this will revitalize the Offense. - Ossenfort may then have to consider this option v staying put #4 and drafting Harrison. How much better does he consider 'The Marvel' to be over the other WR's? If the answer is 'significant', then staying #4 would be the logical choice and thus the likely outcome. Rumor has it that Nick Rallis (Arizona Cardinals Defense Coordinator) together with Dave Sears (Assistant General Manager) are putting up a hard fight to get back on board with the Minnesota Offer, and they are eyeing a different outcome in this draft. Yes (although quite shocking to some) they are proposing a 'triple-pronged' raid on the top defensive talent on offer. - A Breaking News Mock draft issued by Josh Edwards, at CBS, is thought to mirror exactly the thinking of the Rallis/ Sears axis. www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2024-nfl-mock-draft-commanders-at-odds-on-quarterback-choice-cardinals-load-up-on-defense/Professional critics, media scribes, the committed Cardinals fanbase and any casual observer may all be shouting 'DON'T DO IT', but Monti is known (and often respected) for his ironclad determination to follow through on his vision, and no-one (and we mean everyone, including Mike Bidwell and Jon Gannon) are unsure how this is going to play out. So, the possibility exists the Cardinals will take (what they have evaluated) the best available at each of the three critical defensive positions; Cornerback, Edge Rusher and Defensive Linesman, as follows - #11 - Quinyon Mitchell (CB) - Toledo #23 - Jared Verse (Edge) - Florida State #27 - Jer'Zhan Newton (DL) - DL Someone was heard to say (when Dave Sears was presenting the case to the full inner-circle Draft Team) "when has ever such been achieved before?" 'Audacious and stunning', or 'ridiculous and fanciful'? - You (dear forum members) have the power to vote in the poll and make this a reality, or bury it in the ground....!

Bengals would have choice of Latham/Fuega/Mims - I think they want Latham but I don't feel he will last to #18. Cards pick up pick #49. Cards draft Byron Murphy Jr. or Brian Thomas at #18. NOTE: I believe the Rams want Byron Murphy, Jr. at #19 to replace Donald.

My proposal: Cards trade Kyler and #27 pick to the Commanders for their number #2. We pick Harrison at #2 and either Drake, Jayden or JJ at #4 (assuming Bears take Caleb). Then Budda and future #1 pick to the Eagles for their #22.....Cards take Edge Rusher.
Note: I suspect the cards signed a veteran former starter as back up because they are open to drafting one of the rookie QB's as part of the rebuild.

For all I know they could be having the "what if" conversations behind closed doors. The wild guess behind my proposal is that the Commanders may not want to whiff again on drafting a rookie QB #1 if a proven young veteran QB is available, especially one that the newly hired KK has had some past success with.

Mitchell, Verse and a likely late 1st rounder next year…3 players under rookie contract for 4 years plus 5th year options for each. Or MHJ for 4 years plus 5th year option. 15 years of rookie deals with three 1st round quality players, or one potential WR stud for 5 yrs? I spread the injury and other risk among 3 players and get cap value. My opinion. Our defense is our biggest liability. This would go a long way to upgrade the front and back ends of the defense for years. We lose out on a top three WR, but remember in this draft there are easily six or seven, some say more, who would normally be first rounders. Some good prospects will be there at #35 and even in the third round. In addition, as we are expected by everyone to take a WR, if we don’t, one more likely falls to the second round. Mitchell? Coleman? Worthy? Or are they ranking Legette as a stud? With all the draft capital, we have options beyond WR in the first.

I have thought this over if someone offers a Super star player and two first's so the target would be Qb needy teams vikiings's and Bronco's both are desperate. I would say that is the cost to play so I could even do a Trade, trade first's and number 1 this year or next year but the players would be Either JJ or Pat Surtain both young super stars I would be ok with that. If a deal like this exist's out there I would do it. I just am not convinced someone is gonna do it for the 4th best Qb. If we swing for the fences great I am ok with it lol otherwise we stay and pick MHJ. Call me crazy but teams take major chances with Qb's and both teams mentioned are desperate. Vikings don't think they will part with JJ so I think Denver is the only shot I do not want just dartboard throws. How good would the vikings be ? but we thought Houston was gonna yield a high first round draft pick sorry vikings you want the Qb we need a star player in the deal.

Those interested should listen to the JV podcast tonight - - Vikings GM in a 2-minute somewhat rambling answer to go up for a QB - GM says Vikings "willing to take swing" with a trade up even though it involves risk. In fact the GM talked about the organization can make plans to make sure the player is the best version of themselves when they arrive ... sounds like they are planning to meet Monti's price.
- Paul Allen (longtime voice of the Vikings) warns Vikings fans that Sean Peyton wants J.J. McCarthy "badly" and is willing to do almost anything including Surtain in a deal. IMO he is bracing the Viking fans that their team will be forced to turn over a haul in draft capital to get McCarthy or have no QB by losing him to another team.
- Apparently Mark Davis of the Raiders spoke and said he's given the football brass the option to go up and get a QB they like.
- The podcast also cited Tony Pauline that Odunze's visit to the Cardinals went fantastic and Cardinals representatives were very impressed.
