Great post ForDaBirds..it always amazes me when, just a bit of commen since goes such a long way to understanding that players are just people.. my guess is diche will either have a great season, or get cut or take a big pay cut before next season. He has not lived up to his contract yet. I hope he does, but I’m not holding my breath. He needs to prove it this season. JMHO!

I think he is a much better fit in the 4-3 then he was in the 3-4. Coming out of college he reminded me of Dockett, would be big if he can finally take a leap this year.

Hopefully he will make a leap on the field, not off of a balcony! Dude needs to grow up..

Some of Nkemdiche's early career problems seemed to be injury related--hurt happens in the NFL!--and that caused second and third order effects with bosses Arians and Bettcher. Those boys are gone.
Nkemdiche was trending in the right direction in 2017, and he has a year to get his act together under Wilks. There is no way SK signs Nkemdiche to a big contract or extension without a dominating performance in 2018.

Zaz has a point. If you believe like I do that Niche has talent to be a very good NFL player than the question becomes why hasn't he. The answer looks a lot like a combination of injury and he's lazy. Great NFL players are all very talented but almost all of them work very hard to become great and it's a process that is ongoing. Niche looks like a guy who hasn't started that process yet. If he has matured and wants to be great he will have to work very hard. That's a major change for him. The 3 years he has already lost can't be made up. If you believe that great comes from a light bulb going off perhaps he will just step on the field and be great. I hope he has matured and understands the work it's going to take just to be a decent NFL player. He can't make up the 3 years he lost but he can make the kind of incremental changes that over time cold make him great. Of course until we see it, I don't buy it.

Here was a guy who has had everything handed to him athletically. He was one of the top recruits coming out of high school. He really didn't do much in college to warrant his draft position. He's always been a physical specimen who had a big "upside". Nobody's ever pushed him much or challenged him until he came to the NFL. The guy has sucked here big time. He makes virtually zero impact on the field. I"ve compared his numbers to undrafted free agent Olson Pierre and they are vastly different.
The question then becomes can he turn it on and start taking his craft seriously? Perhaps but I'm not betting on it.

Does anybody know if his rookie contract is all guaranteed money?

Does anybody know if his rookie contract is all guaranteed money? Per Sportrac...the answer is $8.1M is guaranteed, or just about all of it. Robert Nkemdiche signed a 4 year, $8,600,601 contract with the Arizona Cardinals, including a $4,454,982 signing bonus, $8,150,600 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $2,150,150. In 2018, Nkemdiche will earn a base salary of $1,231,873, while carrying a cap hit of $2,345,618 and a dead cap value of $4,582,173.

It's either break out or see ya. SK has got to stop drafting these guys with questionable work ethics. In most cases the light never goes on.

I'm kinda glad it is...
After a couple of dozen dead horses and animations it gets boring. ( )

I'm kind of feel like some of the comments already posted here. I still have high hopes for him, but I do wonder about his desire to be the best. The best players always have that strong desire to be the best that they can be. Lets face it, if he has that, its been hard to see.

I think he is a much better fit in the 4-3 then he was in the 3-4. Coming out of college he reminded me of Dockett, would be big if he can finally take a leap this year. And let's remember how Dockett hated the switch to a 3-4, which coincided with the downturn in his career.

Gunther flashed as a rookie...maybe 4-3 will help. as for Nkemdiche I could see wilks cutting him if his effort is questionable...make or break year for sure.
