How do you spike the ball…on 3rd and 1…HOW…knowing you have NO TO’s left…KNOWING YOUR KICKER IS A BACK-UP OFF THE STREETS…HOW??? Please tell me you are paying both KM and KK BIG MONEY because you EXPECT them to KNOW BETTER AT THIS LEVEL…PLEASE!!!🙏 I know that the NFL progressives pooh-pooh the value of IQ testing, aka Wonderlic, but that process does reveal the ability of athletes to think. All the great QBs think and act. Athletic QBs act. We saw the value of thinking on display late yesterday. While on the IQ testing subject, are the Cardinals coaches tested? That would be fun to read about.

Please tell me you are paying both KM and KK BIG MONEY because you EXPECT them to KNOW BETTER AT THIS LEVEL…PLEASE!!!🙏 What do you suggest they had done? 12 seconds and ticking. Do: Slide 36", spike the ball, 2nd down. Just 36" more distance on that QB slide would have made it a 1st down vice 3rd down. No more than 1-2 seconds would have been burned off with the extra 36". Cardinals have time for 1-2 more plays with a stopped clock and 1st down to work with. No need to kick a FG right then. There is always a chance that something good will happen if the game is not over. That's why every armchair QB this morning is saying Murray was not playing smart, just reacting. It was on Murray all the way.

It is almost always the small details that kills average teams. The Eagles can overcome their booboos. The Cardinals cannot. Did I just say the Cardinals moved into the average grouping? Yes, I did. That's a nice move up from suck group a week or two ago. Losing 20-17 to a 4-0 team is progress in a moral victory way. Progress in many ways but heartbreak in the end. My quick flash on this game shows about 5 plays which any one of them would have meant the difference today (I am not counting the missed FG since that would have just tied it) - - Eagles first TD was after a 3rd and long inside THEIR OWN 10 where Hurts is flushed to his left and while getting nailed somehow completes a first down to D. Smith amongst 4 Card defenders who I don't know how they didn't at least knock it down.
- Hollywood's crossing pattern in Eagles territory (1st half) that he bobbled and knocked into the air for an incomplete pass. Catching it on the run he would at a minimum taken it to the 10 yd line if not the end zone.
- Final Drive KM1 missing Ertz that would have taken the ball inside the 20 with the chance for 3 shots into the end zone for the win.
- KM1 sliding a yard too early and then somehow spiking the ball to setup the FG try. Incidentally 2 downs earlier Cards got a 1st down in Eagles territory where the spike was used even though there were over 40 seconds left. I wondered at the time why since the Eagles defense was reeling and this allowed for them to make substitutions and get a little breather. K2/KM1 need to realize chasing Kyler in the 4th qtr tires all of these DL/LB's out and put the darn pedal to the metal !!!
- Eagles TE was the difference for their offense - he killed the Cards on every important 3rd down it seemed. As I've said, seam passes down the hashes over the LB's is hard to stop - hope K2 uses McBride that way in the future.
- Of course it was the Eagles and not the Cardinals who took my advice and the leniency of the rules to push the pile 100% of the 5-6 times at 3rd or 4th and 1 to get a critical 1st down. As I wrote a lengthy post earlier this week I still am unsure why every team doesn't do this. Someone please ask K2 if the "mega-Watt" formation is still on his play sheet.
You are spot on with the summarization. There were many, many more chances to take control. Another big miss -- that missed INT late in the 4th qtr. Thompson and another DB both collide and the ball hits the ground. PHI kicks the FG. I was also saying Lady Luck was not around when the Cardinals needed her the most. PHI got all the breaks yesterday.

Uh, KK, that's an excuse for not paying attention and thinking. KK was reacting to what he sees on big screens which is known to be incorrect until reset. Everyone knows the true down and distance is kept on the field by the Refs. Just demand an answer if there is any doubt. The refs will measure. HC should know better anyway.

Not sure why they chose this kicker as he missed a makeable FG and an extra point just a week or so ago for another team.
NOTE: Other than the too early spike the 2 biggest plays were Hollywood Brown dropping a wide open crossing pattern throw in 1st half (around Eagles 35) that he could have taken "to the house" and the wide open Ertz on last drive where the ball wasn't even close. On the latter pass, KM1 threw from his back foot to avoid getting hit -- well you know what ?? KM1 on that pass needs to stay in the pocket and deliver the ball even if he would have taken a hit -- that throw would have been the difference at the end -- even before the spike.
The above 2 plays would have added about 60 yards more offense and resulted in 2 more scores.

It's crunch time Qb making bad decisions, Bad Time management, A dang High School kicker could have kicked that FG, Really no one better then that available out there ? the kicker showed you he sucked before the game started. Do they even try guy's out or are they just worried about a body.

Well well well here we are 10 years after I first purchased season tickets and as I have said many times before, and used as an example to help explain my disappointment in pro sports in general. How can an NFL team not have a field goal kicker? I know all the sad stories, but really why would a GM not use a third round pick, get a good young kicker and not have to worry about it for 20 years. This team hasnt filled that role properly for a decade. Fact: Kickers provide a large percentage of the scoring for NFL teams. See their stats here -- www.lineups.com/nfl/kicker-stats So, it makes sense to me that the best kickers only are on a team's payroll. Yet, the Cardinals historically seek just average kickers in the lower rounds of the Draft and at free agency. As you note, there is a Cardinals history of bad drafts and bad kickers. Nonetheless, GM Keim is willing to go cheap and deep on Draft day, and pay for castoff 70% kickers in a crunch as evidenced by the K Ammendola signing and the kicker herd that was evaluated last week. A kicker that kicks a knuckle ball is not kicking correctly. We know that. I think Ammendola is not the right guy for any NFL team. Cardinals Fan Idiom: You get what you pay for.

Another excuse. Murray's the QB. He's running the field operation. Man up. Think. Do.

The real problem I have with both KM and KK post game interviews is they said “they thought” they had the first down…you’re jobs…at that very moment…is to “KNOW”…anything less then that is not acceptable and certainly not why you’re both getting paid HUGE money…it’s really all this organization has to hear in order to realize where the problem lies…

The presser offhand comments are clear examples of a team out of control during a game crisis these two characters created. The two acclaimed team leaders need to think and lead all the time. 24/7. Just do it. Accountability is the bill for 'we thought' excuses. That bill will be paid by the HC first. QBs pay second. The bill collectors are the team owner and GM. HC Black Monday can happen any day of the week. HC Kingsbury has this season to get his act together. Four years at the HC helm is enough time to learn to execute the fundamentals of team and game management. In my world, real professionals have 1 day to settle in.

Having re-watched some of the game this morning here are some of my thoughts (including a correction of my recollection on one of the biggest key plays) - - Lack of Home crowd noise advantage (too many Eagle fans) -- resulted in Beachum false start on final drive (could have used those 5 yds). WHOA I just heard that this kicker was TWO for EIGHT from beyond 40 yds - why did SK even bring him in for tryout !!!!!
- The big drop by Hollywood Brown - rewatched this and it happened on the last drive of the first half. When you watch the play, Eagles played a single high safety and the LB's got sucked forward with a fake handoff to D. Williams. Brown touched the ball on the AZ37 but catching it in stride there would have ONLY been the single high safety to beat with the entire field open to maneuver. This was a potential loss of 70 yds of offense and 4 pts as it turned out.
- On same drive before 1st half ended with chip shot FG - Cards tried a fade route to 5'7" Rondale Moore (I've posted about this kind of play calls to short receivers in end zone going back to BA days). On that very play, AJ Green is WIDE open in the middle of the field about 2 yds into the end zone (couldn't have been more than 9 yds from where KM1 released ball to R. Moore - easy pitch and catch opportunity missed) -- there was not a defender within 5 yds of him !!
- KM1's interception - weird play since he threw into double coverage but even stranger the ball only traveled 53 yds in the air. Receiver was starting to separate -had KM1 released the ball a half second later and thrown it with all he had (in a dome should be able to throw it 67-68 yds), I don't believe there would have been an INT there and possibly might have worked as a reception.
- Gardeck was in and around the ball a bunch of times but always a half second late -- from hitting Jalen Hurts on 3rd and 13 on Eagles own 10 yd line (score was then only 7-0) allowing Hurts to hit D. Smith for a 20 yd gain which was a CRITICAL play as the Eagles used up a ton of clock (16 play 87 yard drive) while wearing down the defense when it could have been a 3 and out giving Cards excellent field position. Gardeck also came close a couple of time to stop Goedert from getting another 1st down.
- Eagles used the "mush push" to get short yardage all the time. The only short yardage situation which was stopped at the goal line for the Eagles, Center Kelce lost his helmet but was allowed to stay on the field and they used the same mush-push to get Hurts into the end zone. P.S. Also did you see highlights of the Giants-Packers game where on the goal line they used my "mush-push" formation to get their running back easily into the end zone.
- Jalen Thompson injury right before the Eagles go ahead FG cost the Cards a critical timeout ... had the wind knocked out of him. He should have got himself off the field -- not if he actually has a cracked rib I rescind this point.
- Can someone tell K2 that I know how to get off to a better start -- FAKE/FAKE/FAKE the WR screen (every team is jumping this early in the game) and then hit a deep crossing route behind it as every LB is hustling to the screen pass so they can "blow up" a 5'7" receiver.

Putmein…you have nailed the difference btw the “real world” and “their world”…but in ANY world…you only get the opportunity to say “my bad”…””I have to do a better job”…or “I thought”…maybe ONCE…TWICE if you’re related to the boss…but other then that…YOU’RE FIRED…if that’s your only answer for not doing your job!!! And it’s happening over and over and over again. I get it…this is not a matter of life and death…thank God…cause anyone under this leadership would be dead by now. It’s a GAME!!! But…there is BIG MONEY…involved…corporate sponsors…stadium rights…TV rights…season tickets…commercial advertising and no owner worth his weight is going to stand for the excuses coming from the podium nor the product on the field…especially the HOME FIELD…at the going rate of 0-8 much longer…nor should they.
