GAME WEEK 18 ARIZONA CARDINALS VS SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
Commentary:
You guys don't know how good it felt to edit this thread and post! But then again, I know you loved that win today. Cardinals over Cowboys. The Arizona Cardinals are now no worse than the 5th seed (thanks Drachir) and we can even move up to the 2nd seed overall.
Positives today:
1. They Cardinals had no turnovers in the game today. Did you know that Dallas led the league in causing turnovers coming into the game.
2. There was 0 Zero yards by the Cowboys way late into the 3rd quarter I saw 1 yard passing and ZERO rushing at one point.
3. Who had the most batted balls? The 5'10" QB or the 6 ft 2" QB
4. Isaiah Simmons gets more consistent we will be hearing more from him, I kniw he has had an injury but played well for the most part/ in the GDT Thread I saw one play where he was late.
5. Backups in rhe secondary played really well Cee Dee Lamb 3 recpt 51 yards
Amari Cooper 3 recpt 18 yards 1 TD

Let's pause 60 seconds to honor two worthy opponents. For Cardinals and Seahawks fans, this next regular season game (#17) is likely the last time we see the gum-chomping khaki-pants HC Pete Carroll pacing the SEA sidelines. Everything about Carroll's head coaching record (6/10) in 2021 and recent player actions as the Executive Vice President of Football Operations points to Carroll either retiring (preferred), resigning (very unlikely), or being fired (that would be disrespectful). HC Carroll and his Seahawks have worked over the Cardinals since he joined the Seahawks back in 2010 and especially since 2016. I will not be sorry to see Pete Carroll disappear from the NFC West Division in the next off-season. Moreover, it is possible that QB Russell Wilson (34 years old for the next season) will move on from the Seahawks. See his contract language for details: www.spotrac.com/nfl/seattle-seahawks/russell-wilson-9885/ . Per his contract, Wilson can be released or traded in 2022 - but at significant cost to the team. The magic date for the team and Wilson's dead CAP hit is June 1, 2022. If the team waits until after June 1 to move Wilson, the dead CAP savings is $24 million vice $11 million, or enough to sign a top-rated Offensive lineman free agent for 1 year. Okay, my sixty seconds of tribute is done. Cardinals will kick the Seahawks butts on Sunday! Take no prisoners. Bayonet the wounded.

He was like failure as coach of the Jets. He treated like a big dog at USC. He got extremely lucky when Russell Wilson beat out the Big Money free agents assigned to be their quarterback. I think it was Castle but I can't remember the name for sure. During his time at Seattle head coach Seattle has been the team and it's not even close with the most cheap shots and borderline late hits. I remember one game against the Cardinals wear on a field goal one of their guys with another player as a springboard which is clearly illegal the announcers even commented on it but the referees didn't throw a penalty flag.

Above is that video of SEA's Wagner jumping over the Cardinals long snapper and blocking the FG. That act occurred in 2016. Carroll was thrilled. I remember that game and the play. I was PO'ed. I thought jumping over a line was illegal. It was--in some cases. After Wagner's act, the flag is picked up because Wagner did not use leverage to jump over the line, nor did he step on or kick a Cardinals lineman in the head during the vault. The following off-season in 2017, the NFL banned jumping over the crouching defenseless offensive lineman due to risk of a head injury. HC's are always on the prowl for new ways to exploit player physical skills and ancient NFL rules. Carroll is no different than many other HCs in that regard. He plays hard and by the rules. www.nfl.com/news/nfl-bans-line-leaping-approves-ejections-for-head-hits-0ap3000000795748

It's time for this team to get healthy. Unfortunately, it looks like Hop and JJ can't return until the NFCC game, so the Cardinals have their work cut out for them. It might take some luck to avoid a trip GB, such as the 9ers somehow beating the Packers in Green Bay.
Rest whenever you gotta rest with injury concerns against the Seahawks, but if you're the Cardinals you have to win that game to capture some momentum.

The team does have to get healthier to win at the playoffs. However, I do not give a rats pittoi about luck or what teams get in the way of the Cardinals playoffs run. The Cardinals beat several Division winners this season and those are hard teams to beat at any site and any week. TEN, LAR, and DAL went down. GB was very close to going down, but for a WR Green lapse in judgment. Lastly, there is no animal called momentum in the NFL. Every game is won and lost by its present talent and time.

This guy... He's been killing it these last few weeks. SEA as a team showed up--not just 1 guy. The other team was DET, winner of 2 games in a 16-game season so far. Between DET and SEA, they have 8 wins. That win total does not mean SEA is better than DET, just not as bad as DET. Sounds crazy but it is a fact. Lastly, ARI learned its lessons in Dec and will be fine vs. SEA, and expecially 1 specific hot player on Sunday.
