He caught 5 passes total, but went to sleep mentally when his # was called by KM on the last play. Friend and foe media is having a field day with the Murray to Green misplay and now maybe a lack of teamwork transparency. At the pressers, HC Kingsbury blamed a call miscommunicatiion, presumed from the QB to the WR. Murray waited an hour after the game to greet the press, then shrugged off QB-WR communications as a blip issue, only commenting that improvement is necessary. Green did not talk last night, reportedly because he was not 'scheduled.' Huh? The franchise does not throttle communications. That's BS. Players talk all the time via multiple tools. Green probably just wants the episode to disappear. History does not just disappear. The best thing for Murray and Green is to sit down with Kingsbury and have a mano e mano chat. Allowing the sports media to run with incorrect team communications issues is wrong.

I went back about 30 minutes ago to watch the sequence before the last play. AJ Green had one-on-one while on the left side there were 3 receivers and 4 defenders. Could it be that the Packers' fans crowd noise prevented AJ Green from hearing KM using a one-word signal for changing into a pass to Green? Also on the broadcast it shows as players walked back after the timeout that the HUDDLE didn't really occur -- players are loosely assembled before going up to the line of scrimmage with no wide receivers in the picture. This makes me think that the play called was changed when KM saw one-on-one to the right and AJ Green didn't hear it -- due to Cards fans selling tickets to the enemy! Pass Interference ?? - Had AJ just made a move to the ball

On AJ Green -- the entire last drive was very strange. Remember when AJ Green caught the wide open pass on same drive when it was 3rd and 10 from the Cards 1-yd line at beginning of the drive ? WHY did he just fall down after the catch when there was plenty of green grass around for a MINIMUM of another 7-10 yds and possibly a much bigger gain. All of us watching had to be wondering why did he firmly catch the football take one step and then just curl up and go down ?? ... but we as Card fans were relieved that the drive was still alive ... but it was very strange.
If Green does do interview, I hope someone asks him a question on the above reference play as well as the last one.

Green I think thought it was a run play but still no excuse not turning around. Well we have to get this taste out of our mouth the problem is you have to wait 10 days. Dang we have to stop the run better then that wow.

Green royally messed up the potential game winning TD regardless where the ball was intended to go, zero excuses for not being in the moment of such a pivotal play. The 3rd and 10 catch was simply a receiver that was securing a crucial catch and was expected a hit from behind that did not come. I have zero issues with him securing a crucial 3rd down catch and bracing for a hit even if the hit did not come as maybe he was expecting. You could argue that he could have had better awareness but he also has to assume he going to get hit with his back to the defense. He still backed down for another 3-5 yards on the play. Did it look strange sure, but I think we need to focus on the failed TD.

It is pretty obvious the guy made a mistake. Do we really need him to stand up and reiterate it. What happens in the locker room is really more important.
WRT Green's first pass catch. In my opinion he was ensuring possession and keeping ball control in that situation. I was fine with him falling down.

Human error. Are we going to talk about Rondale's oops at the same length? Between the injuries, human errors, and weak start, we literally were 1 play away from beating a 6-1 team. This team responded way better than I thought it would to the loss of JJ Watt.

This team responded way better than I thought it would to the loss of JJ Watt. Good post as Rondale had his worst game by far. Between the muffed punt that he tried to sell as I didn't touch that to his tipped ball for an interception that he should have caught. Players are going to have those kind of days. It is how do you rebound from it? As far as the final play with the interception and Green's no look it should have never come to that because there are always other plays that you should make so you don't blame it on one play.

Green is a vet. He should have read the coverage and realised he had single coverage, and there was a better than 50 / 50 chance the ball was coming his way. That int was his fault for not turning around and being ready to catch the ball. This loss is on Green.

Agreed, even if you have a job to do like blocking, you can't just go into a silo and loose all your awareness, especially if you are a veteran.

I’m not going to lay the loss on Green, as we had plenty of mental errors as a team. The loss of Watt was felt big time in the run defense. Not so much in pass D only because Rodgers was getting rid of the ball so fast. Chandler I’m afraid is a one trick pony beginning to lose that amazing trick, but he was also limited by Rodger’s game plan. We had three turnovers to zero and got wolluped in time of possession…that usually means a loss. The fact it still came down to Green with 12 seconds left says a lot about our team’s talent.
However, the Green play will be the one that sticks with me forever. Happened right in front of me. I literally just told my son we have one shot at the end zone and if we miss we tie it. Just no turnovers! With no time outs it was not going to be a run. One pass to a player in the end zone was about to happen, and Green Bay’s defense would be coming for Kyler, and with his scrambling ability all receivers had to be ready for a scrambling Kyler making something happen. Green…he looked like he was blocking for a run play to his side, which COULD NOT have been the called play. Media is reporting Kliff called a play to the left side and Kyler saw the match-ups and Green all alone one on one and changed the play (READ THE DEFENSE!) and Green simply missed the sign. Still inexcusable. Green should have noticed his matchup and been ready for the adjustment AND been looking to the QB in case the play to the left side broke down, which was likely with GB defense coming for Kyler and all the bodies on the left side. Inexcusable for a vet, even if the communication went bad for whatever reason.
I will choose to remember the goal line stand that set up the opportunity to drive 97 yards for a win that almost was.
And our team can definitely grow and learn and get hungry from this loss. Blame won’t help Green or rookie Moore or coaching.

We could have easily ran the ball than spiked it on 3rd down if we didn’t get the TD. Than could of kick the tying field goal send to overtime. I don’t have any doubt though that Edmonds could have scored from the 3 yard line or Conner. Puzzles me why we didn’t run or pass to our red zone TE Ertz.

I think with 15 seconds a run play would be wayyy too risky and too cute. Regardless, word is that Kliff had called a play to the left side, Kyler saw the coverage and changed the play, and AJ missed the signal of the change. It was going to be a pass, and AJ had zero reason to leave his back turned on the play. Agree Ertz would have been an option, but Green is the other big target with DHop out. It’s possible Ertz was the designed play.

We came within a whisker of beating Green Bay despite the fact that:
1. We relied on Rondale Moore a bit too much. His trying to run it out of the end zone on kick offs was perplexing. The fact that he was involved in both turnovers that happened deep in our territory and resulted in 10 points was also problematic. We leaned on the rookie a bit too much and he folded. 2. We definitely missed JJ Watt but not nearly as much as Hudson and his backup Garcia. Josh Jones should be at RT. His playing guard is just not working. Green Bay consistently pressured KM with only a 4 man rush. 3. Green Bay made zero mistakes and their basic plan of runs mixed with lots of dink and dunk passes worked. Rodgers got the ball out in a hurry and they wore down the defense. If our run defense, which has been a problem most of the year, could have stopped Jones and Dillon and forced Rodgers to have to pass more we would have had more success. 4. AJ Green with the most WTF moment in recent history can not be excused. He is a 9 time Pro Bowler and anyone with a shred of football knowledge KNOWS that with seconds on the clock, no timeouts and needing at least three to tie that a pass into the end zone is the ONLY play. I have mentioned before that he gives up on plays too early and I think that is a result of his never having played with a QB that extends plays like KM. There is no excuse or reasonable explanation for his not looking for that ball in that moment with KM at QB and the game on the line. Total brain dead play on his part.
