Watt had started all seven games for the Cardinals. He suffered a shoulder injury in the second quarter of Sunday’s game against his former team. He finished the game despite the injury.
Well done tough guy. Against the friggin Texans. Now we don't see you anymore till next year.
Well done.

Why in the World did they keep him and some of the other starters in that game? I don't let players make my decisions for me if I am coach. Its no about egos or records Only one record matters and that is standings.

Are JJ's on-field effects good, or otherwise? I'm going to say it's a mixed bag through 7 games.
Look back at the start of the season and games 2-5 in particular. Many of you were on JJ's butt for star-level paydays and a lack of star-level performances. Yes he was lining up and intimidating the hell out of younger Olinemen. Yes he was barking calls and roaring like a lion. But when the ball was snapped, JJ seemed 1/2 step behind most playmakers. His 1 sack occurred recently, and that QB takedown might have been the reason for the shoulder injury (or at least contributed to it.). Truthfully, the downturn in JJ's speed meant that he overran no plays. And the shoulder injury contributed to a fall off in famed bull rush power at games 6-7. Bet on that.
JJ takes good care of himself at all times. The many years of hard work have taken a toll on JJ's body. If he needs surgery to repair damage, and recovery is 3 months, that's all fine by me. Get the repairs done now, heal up, and we will see JJ back on the D in 2022.
Vance Joseph has a plan. Next man up. The Cardinals will fight harder and gain more wins. JJ will have to lead from the sidelines the rest of the way in 2021.

Last night when I read JJ Watt was out for the year, I yelled out really loud the F word. My wife woke up and asked what was wrong... I apologized for waking her up and told her JJ Watt was out for the season for the Cardinals. She said, "Oh no... Who do they have at QB now?". Oh boy...

In a way, your family story is funny, especially the QB quote. I also mentioned to my wife that JJ Watt was out for the game tonight, and maybe lost for the season due to shoulder injury. She said something like, "Oh crap", knowing that I felt the same way about the player. My wife has family in Houston that worked with Watt's fund raising groups for a women's breast cancer campaign. The kinfolk say great things about the man Mr. Watt. The community remembers and loves the man.

3 months and out for the season aren't the same thing. Conference Championship is on 30th Jan.

Free agents available - - Geno Atkins
- Kawann Short
- PJ Hall -- 2nd round pick in 2018 and is only age 26: Played quite a bit in 2019 with a PFF of 70.2. Over this past summer, he had a misdemeanor assault charge and even though he is unemployed the NFL recently suspended him for 1 game.
In the trade rumors around the NFL, couldn't really find too many DL available ... edge rushers like Melvin Ingram but not interior line disrupters.

Normally, I would say I told you so as I anticipated him getting injured. But I won't say that because what he brought to the team in terms of leadership and setting the tone was worth it. He helped create an identity for this defense and infused a sense of confidence in them. As a result, I think the defense is going to continue to fly. He really exceeded my expectations as to what he brought to this team. He is good guy and a great leader. And he can still contribute to this team in terms of being a leader and mentor to the defense. His influence has been awesome Hey DO Hope you are doing well, I am doing well my friend. I hope all is well with you.

You can criticize me all you want. I will not be offended if you do. But I will post a prayer for JJ now.
Father in Jesus Mighty Name I ask for healing to JJ Watts shoulder. That No surgery will be needed and that he will be able to play by next game. I Thank You Jesus for by your stripes We Are Healed.
I decree in Jesus Name that JJ Watt is healed. And he will be a witness for you Lord Jesus to his Team mates. Thank Father God, for your Love knows No bounds. And when JJ Watts sees the Drs next time they will be amazed and declare it a Miracle. You Are The God of Miracles. To God be the Glory forever and ever Amen! Hallelujah!

There is no accounting for injuries in football. It is a part of the game. Hope he heals well. That was a hustle play where he did nothing but what is expected of a high motor player.

So the feeling is JJ might come back by the NFC championship? If that's not motivation for this team to fight for a Super Bowl, I don't know what is.
