PAGE 3 GAME WEEK Arizona Cardinals @ Los Angeles Rams
ALL TIME WIN/LOSS RECORDS
The Rams lead the series Rams 45 Wins Cardinals 38 Wins There have been 2 ties
The first meeting was in 1937 The Rams were in Cleveland and The Cardinals were in Chicago. The Cardinals won that first meeting 6-0Very interesting fact Sunday October 3 2021 will be 84 years on the same day October 3rd 1937 that these two teams first met.
84 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF THE RIVALRY.
The teams have met 85 times One of those games was a playoff game that FLCF remembers all too well. NFC Divisional playoff game in 1975 35-23. The Cardinals dug themselves a deep hole early. They were down 21-0 barely into the 2nd quarter. Jack Youngblood DE a Florida Gator had a pick 6 on Jim Hart. Later on Bill Simpson had another pick 6. Lawrence McCutchen RB for the Rams had 202 yards rushing in the game on 37 carries which was an NFL record in playoffs or Super Bowl competition. From the "Mailbag" over at the Cards site:
"Hi Darren. I know there is nothing specific but any speculation on when Dennis Gardeck will be back? I really expected him to be at least light practice by now. We could really use him.
To be clear, Gardeck is out not because of his knee but because he hurt his hand in practice. So it was a new injury that landed him on IR. He is eligible by now, but his hand will have to heal before they activate him.

What a terrible time to have a patchwork O line. I hope these back injuries aren't very serious.

What a terrible time to have a patchwork O line. I hope these back injuries aren't very serious. This is the same concern I have. A group of gimpy lineman on offense, The Cardinals Oline when healthy was not that good as I recall. Just average dudes on any Sunday. Gimpy Olinemen is the natural Cardinals way since about 1975. So, unless COVID wipes out LAR roster, the Cardinals offense should expect a Ram defensive tsunami every play. That's the Rams way for half a decade and counting.
