Keim can fix his mistake by hiring DeFilippo as HC(who should’ve been our HC in the 1st place) after firing Wilks. That is, if Keim isn’t fired by then.
He could, but I can't see that happening next year, or maybe even the year after... unless there are wholesale changes in staff from the top down.
DeFillippo was someone I thought could do well here when the search was being done (slooowly) after last season. He has the personality of a charger, not a laid back plodder. He also has the air of confidence and demonstrated ability as a coach who can produce results in his area of responsibility. Sadly, he went to the Vikings as OC, and we can only watch while he makes a mockery of McCoy. Could he coach defense? Who knows? But I bet he would have hired a competent guy - or even Boettcher, who ran rings around what we are doing now.
While he may well have turned down an offer by the Cards, it would have been nice to see an offer made. IMO, he is an up and comer who will be around a long time and be associated with winners.
Some interesting information in this article, particularly further down. link
Note also in that linked article that the Vikes did not wait, but targeted DeFilippo early in the process...

Cardinals seem to wait for there guy as if this is some sort of coveted destination. They waited on Andy Reid and KC flew in to swoop him up. That's how the good ones do it.

"Word of the Vikings’ interest in DeFilippo leaked out during Super Bowl week, while the 40-year-old was in the Twin Cities preparing for the game as the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach. The Eagles won the Super Bowl in Minneapolis, of course, and Philadelphia granted the Vikings permission to talk to DeFilippo several days before his contract expired. ... DeFilippo was responsible for much of the Eagles’ red-zone scheme last season, and after helping the Eagles lead the league in red-zone efficiency, he’ll inherit the NFL’s ninth-ranked red zone offense, while trying to coax more production out of Cousins at the ends of drives."
“The best red zone teams do two things,” DeFilippo said. “No. 1, they ... have success running the football. “No. 2, when you find out what the quarterback does good down there and what he feels comfortable with, you find different ways to do those things, over and over again, so ... the quarterback feels comfortable cutting the ball loose into a tight window. The receivers have confidence in faith throws, of crossing the corners and safeties’ faces, knowing the ball’s going to be there on time, facemask or higher... "
“Red zone football is about matchups ... It’s who can beat who, one-on-one. Can a back beat a safety one-on-one in the hole? Can a receiver beat a DB one-on-one, in a two-yard space, where you’re telling him he has two yards to work from the back of the end line to go up and get a football? I’ve been on a team where we had a bunch of 5-foot-8 receivers and it made life really, really hard, and our 6-foot-5 tight end... broke Ozzie Newsome’s record for touchdowns in the red zone. So, does having guys that are bigger ... help? Heck yeah...You’ve got to have some personnel. I’ve been on teams that had no problem moving the ball. You can scheme up and down the field on people. But once you get inside the 12-yard line? Phew. It’s tough sledding if you can’t win (there).”

This is where I feel Rosen makes us a much better team, Sam got to the point he simply wasn't comfortable holding the ball any amount of time. Rosen can wait another few seconds and use his legs to buy time. Once he gets relaxed (he seems relaxed)in the offense he should be good to go.

We are all hoping that is how it goes. Might take a while for it all to become comfortable for him though - after all, he is being fed to the lions with very little time working with the starters in game conditions. As you say he does not seem to get rattled easily, so maybe it will come sooner rather than later.
Now if only we had imaginative plays and tall receivers with sticky hands, other than Fitz. So far we are too predictable, so I hope Rosen has the OK to change plays if a defense is set to stop the called play, but really doubt it. While I am wishing, using good 2 minute and red zone sets of plays not requiring huddles or time outs could help a lot by keeping the other team off balance a little. We seem slow and unsure most of the time, IMO. And I do not think it is players who are the only cause.

I think if this year trends on and we finish 3-13, Keim will be fired.
He has to be. A DUI suspension, a 3-13 record and not to mention 3 1st round busts (nkemdiche, Bucc and Reddick). Its a pretty easy decision.
And I been saying this for awhile...I think Mike got himself a taste of GM power when Keim was out, and he likes it. I think he wants to install himself ala Jerry Jones.

Would you be so kind as to allow Keim a celebratory beverage for a 4-12 finish?

I just hope we don't have to beat off other teams for him now. I am a little concerned if we missed that boat I rather get someone a little early rather then never get them. It's definitely paying off for the rams.

Mike Bidwill as team GM? I don't see that in his skills job jar and personality. I could be wrong though about the man's ego.
The Ramz look unbeatable for now. However, the GM's "all in foe 2018" contract mess dooms the team for 2019+. The QB situation is good for 2 years. RB good for 1 year. 51 other roster players have to be paid too.
I don't want a team wrecker GM running the FO. Keim knows contracts. He also signs good FA talent. I do want better draft picks. Who doesn't?

Clutchdj, I'm sure Snead is thinking the same way...get real lucky on draft day, then sign the best FAs and sell Coliseum stadium seats. Life will be good in sunny SOCAL.

If I had to rank them as to which is on the hot seat it would be
McCoy is the leader. Guy never was a decent O coordinator. Never should have been hired in that capacity by the Cards. Had a couple years where his offense was decent. Also had Manning leading it those years. Enough said.
SK to me is next. Missed way to much on his early picks in the draft. I could care less bout his DUI if he would have put a better group of guys together. Matter of fact. His DUI doesn't even come into play for me. It's all about how he has done constructing this team through the draft is all I care about.
Wilks is not ready to be a head coach. Has no clue how to handle game action. Deer in the head light look. Just because your a good coordinator doesn't mean your going to be a capable head coach.
That to me is the hot seat brigade. They could all get canned and it wouldn't bother me any.

2019 will be a good year for the Cards.
We will have a top three pick in the draft. A new GM and coaching staff.
Excitment!!

Apologies for the lack of a link, but I did read this week that Josh has the OK to change out of a play. It's worth remembering also that he did get quite a few snaps with 1st team O early on when the team was being extra careful with Bradford's knee issues.
