My question is related to whether Wilks is trying to fit a round (3-4 defense) into a square (4-3 defense) hole.
Chandler Jones is a 3-4 OL, not a defensive end. He has not flourished in this new scheme. I doubt that Golden will do much better when he returns.
We drafted Reddick because everybody was very high on him. Now he cannot even get on the field because he is not the atypical 4-3 LB.
The Cards don't have the personnel to play a 4-3. They have been drafting over the last decade to support a 3-4. You cannot magically interchange skills and become a 4-3 player when your skillset is 3-4.
I blame Wilks because he is as stubborn as BA. I know best and I will make this round peg fit into this square hole.

I love that Wilks just said we are going to dial the offense back a bit haha. We are going to throw 2 yard passes instead of 5 yards.

Getting the ball to the 50 yard line once in game = Dialing back the play book..WTF??? I'm starting to think maybe Wilks is in over his head. Looks like a very disciplined coach who just isnt a good coach.

I just read on ESPN's site about Wilks first fix of the week: Dumb down the offense's play book. Skilled players will not have to think. They just run and hit until the whistle blows. Excuse me. HC Wilks has lost his marbles.

wilks does not belong in the nfl. I have been saying that since he started reminding me of buddy ryan in preseason. then he got bad enough to make me miss buddy after game one.

Watching any offense in other games makes me envious. Its like McCoy has no clue how to use the players we have. Go back and watch tape of how David was used int he past if you must. This is worrisome for sure.

HC Wilks has lost his marbles. Interesting this from John Elway when McCoy was fired last year: Mostly, the dissatisfaction comes from the offensive playbook being unwieldy. Elway has always believed in execution over everything -- simple and fast -- rather than focusing on trying to out-scheme the opponent. The belief is the offense has contained too much this year. At times, the playbook has featured more plays than even when Peyton Manning was under center in Denver, except this version of the Broncos has inexperienced QBs. But does anyone really think the Cardinals look like a team with too many plays? Too difficult to run. Can anyone even say what kind of offense we run? We have a veteran QB. This should be cake for him to pick up. But maybe Sam's that checked out.

PP celebrating in the end zone after a good play....c'mon man. That was embarrassing. Down like 24 or whatever it was at the time. Reminded me of Larry Centers celebrating a big hit on Redskins player after they intercepted us. The guy simply pointed to the scoreboard where we were down 20 something points.

Unfortunately there is no quick fix for the team. We need up grades in just bout every position on the team. The last 3 drafts haven't been very good. Those missed drafts is what kills teams. Rosen alone isn't going to fix anything. For one he is a rookie QB. It takes tie for most WB to get used to what NFL defenses are throwing at him.
Missed on too many draft picks the last 4 years. Especially 1st rounder. Cooper was drafted with the 7th pick in the 1st round. He should be fighting for pro bowl status. As it is he is fighting just to make a team. D Buck knock was he was to slow to play safety. Well he is to slow to play safety and to small to play LB. Another wasted pick. Reddick was a D end in college with his hand in the dirt. Not even in a power 5 conference. Now they want him to play LB. It takes years for a LB to get certain instincts. Another wasted pick when there were better players still on the board.
Those wasted pick who should now be starters for this team are a major reason why the Cards are so dreadful. SK hasn't done a very good job with the draft. Then hiring Wilks who had no head coach experience was another mistake. It may just be time for MB to seriously consider getting a new GM. SK hasn't been very good.

hey now belic. I liked centers. no picking on him. dude was probably the best player on our team at the time. and he didn't allow a pick 6 like fitz did in the superbowl which cost us the game. we were blowing the steelers out up to that point, game was gonna be over by half time.

I believe the pick 6 at end of half was a pass to Boldin, not Fitz. Boldin turned the wrong way and then did not pursue. Fitz ran him down; albeit too late.

Well I like Patrick Peterson and I do not think the person that posted about him celebrating was “picking” on him. Larry Centers is an all time great, I am talking about something embarrassing he did once when gettting blown out. Bringing up the Super Bowl TD is completely irrelevant to either situation previously discussed.

I thought it was fairly obvious that we have already dialed the offense back to kindergarten level - - - but maybe I'm going blind.
