Just re-watched the game because i like being waterboarded and tortured for fun. It was worse the second time around. Just pitiful effort by A LOT of players.
One person really stuck out like a sore broken slow small thumb. That was D-Buc. MAN he was getting swallowed up by O-lineman on every play. I am no D scheme expert but from watching D-Buc play, I just dont see how this will work out all season. He is too small to be where he is supposed to be. I mean he had NO SHOT at making tackles. I dont even think he could see around the olineman?
WHERE IS REDDICK???
At this point why are we not trading our first rounder every year for good players on other teams? SK cant pick a first rounder to save his soul. At least this year he picked a guy that will actually play the position he has played in college. SMH - so disappointing.

Yeah I'm done with projects and making players switch positions. Not working.
I like Bucannon, he's a solid player but will be exposed in the 4-3. And with Reddick not helping either, we're in trouble there...
Bucannon needs to add 15 lbs to play linebacker, I don't know why the team thinks it's fine.

DBuc is small for a LB and to slow to cover receivers. I'm a Dbuc fan, I was excited when we drafted him but he's not a fit for his current responsibilities.
I would not recommend trading futures first round picks and leverage ourselves out for no reason. We aren't going anywhere this season and we need to find some gems in the next few years, I'm just not sure Keim can do it.

He put on too much weight to fill up to the position. He lost all his speed that made him a good player.

I will admit, I am biased, I've always hated the pick of D-Buc and that bias makes me find every flaw in the way he plays...that being said, he can't cover and is too small to play in the box. The Redskins line destroyed him.
The Redskins picked on him all day and I expect the Rams to do the same. He just doesn't seem to fit the new scheme.
Keim should try and trade him to the Giants for something. Otherwise,he'll be done soon enough and another wasted pick.

Reddick was benched. He can't play in this D.

Reddick was benched. He can't play in this D. If that's tru its time to consider the panic button.

The only thing that saved D Buck in the old defense was the D line keeping him clean by holding up the O line. That's how a 3-4 scheme works. The D line takes on all the blocks and frees up the LB's to make the tackles.
Never thought for once D Buck would be any good in a 4-3 scheme. Especially a 1 gap scheme. D Buck can't take on an O lineman and disengage like a traditional 4-3 LB er does. He gets swallowed up and run over every time. He is just too small.
Never Was a D Buck fan. To slow for safety and to small for LB. At least a LB in a traditional defense scheme.
Maybe as someone said we can trade him to the Jets. Might get a 4th rouder for him.

Reddick was benched. He can't play in this D. If that's tru its time to consider the panic button. He played under 20% of the snaps. We actually started 3 safeties and 2 LB. DBuck and Josh Bynes. Baker, Boston and Bethea started the game. Bethea, Bynes and Baker were making most of the tackles.

Buc's poor play stood out like a sore thumb.
I didn't realize Reddick didn't play much. Explains why I didn't see him. He should be in full bloom now.
Another Keim blown first rounder?

Switching to a 4-3 from a 3-4 really hurts this team IMO. They will need to find personal to match this scheme or go back to a 3-4.

Any WR heavy team we can trade Dbuc too? I never liked the Reddick pick from day 1 either. Just looked like another tweener that didnt dominate his position in college. Pick guys that are studs at one position and let them play there, is that so hard?

I wanted DBuc in his draft, and often took him in the second round of mocks. I was not at all happy when we passed on Bridgewater and Carr to draft him first. I wanted him because at the time we were by far the worst in the NFL at covering TEs. TEs were killing us week after week. For years I used a strategy in my fantasy league of picking up any old waiver wire TE if they were facing us, and it worked beautifully. DBuc, as a safety, was the best coming into the draft at covering TEs, because he was big and tough as a S.
But then they made him a small LB. Created the exciting sounding $LB position. And hey, it worked for a while in the Bowles defense, which was handed down to our new D when he left. Betcher used him the same way.
In this preseason, I kept pushing for DBuc to be traded, specifically to Betcher and the Giants, to either move us up in the draft for a QBOF Move or for a CB. In our new Wilks defense I just didn’t see it, and DBuc was coming up on big money contracts and cap hits.
I’m afraid I was right.
