I wanted DBuc in his draft, and often took him in the second round of mocks. I was not at all happy when we passed on Bridgewater and Carr to draft him first. I wanted him because at the time we were by far the worst in the NFL at covering TEs. TEs were killing us week after week. For years I used a strategy in my fantasy league of picking up any old waiver wire TE if they were facing us, and it worked beautifully. DBuc, as a safety, was the best coming into the draft at covering TEs, because he was big and tough as a S. But then they made him a small LB. Created the exciting sounding $LB position. And hey, it worked for a while in the Bowles defense, which was handed down to our new D when he left. Betcher used him the same way. In this preseason, I kept pushing for DBuc to be traded, specifically to Betcher and the Giants, to either move us up in the draft for a QBOF Move or for a CB. In our new Wilks defense I just didn’t see it, and DBuc was coming up on big money contracts and cap hits. I’m afraid I was right. Lots of other posters said the exact same thing!! I dont know what to think of this guy. i've been in his corner and he's played very well at times the last couple of years. But that first game he looked awful. Lets give him a chance for a bounce back.

Keim has drafted two guys in the first round over the past 5 years to play LB and neither can do it or even get on the field. Buc is way too small and everyone talks about his speed but time and again guys go right by him.
Reddick had never played LB until the Senior Bowl and Keim would've given him a gold jacket if he could. Playing LB and pretty much any other defensive position is about instincts and Reddick has NONE. I do wonder how much influence BA had on the Reddick pick due to his obsession with TEMPLE.
As many red flags as Reuben Foster had, he was seemingly destined to be picked by us and SK/BA passed on a guy with all-pro LB instincts and talents. Yes the jury is still out on his career/off-field concerns but if we could have a do-over I know which way I'd go. Or even Jarrod Davis (sp) for the Lions. At least they had played LB in their lives before getting to the NFL.
If Buc keeps playing this poorly, we better get Reddick or Hodges in there to see what we have for next year.

Any WR heavy team we can trade Dbuc too? I never liked the Reddick pick from day 1 either. Just looked like another tweener that didnt dominate his position in college. Pick guys that are studs at one position and let them play there, is that so hard? Don't forget the king of this decision making Brandon Williams. I agree we have 3-4 personel for a 4-3 team. Seriously why not go back to a 3-4. This team isn't competitive and clearly is out coached. Maybe next time we'll actually play in the preseason

Apparently, Buc didn't even start the game.
