Ramesh has been in a lot of the Rookie photos and vids either blocking for Rosen or swinging out late.
Would be fantastic if our RB rotation turns out to be as good as Carolina's used to be when DeAngelo and Stewart was the tandem with Tolbert the FB.

Can't understand the comments about us not needing a running back. Without DJ we were completely hopeless at running the ball bar the odd quarter where AP and KW managed to conjure up a few plays. Also I keep seeing alot of hype around TJ Logan, he was a 5th round guy mainly picked for his special teams ability and to be used in 3rd down situations. Maybe he shows more (I hope he does too) but I don't think he was brought in to be a bell cow sort of guy who can pick up the slack if DJ isn't out on the field. Chase on the other hands does have the ability to be a 3 down back and mirror alot of what DJ can do (looking purely at his build and college tape). I loved his interview and think he will be on a upgrade on what both KW and AP offered us last season.

Quality depth at all positions is something every single successful team actively pursues.

A running back and I don't care who you are is only as good as his O line. If you have to dodge a DT in the backfield all the time your not going to make many yards. Last year we all know the Cards O line was a disaster. Fix the O line and we have a good stable of RB's.

Well it would seem atm that HC Wilks, O-line Coach Ray Brown and Assistant O-line Coach Steve Heiden think the current O-line group can get the job done. HC Wilks in the presser even went so far as to say the O-line is a strength right now.

I have no doubt that the the run blocking will be improved, I'm just worried about pass protection. Atleast the oline won't be expected to block for 5+ seconds while we throw bombs downfield.

I think you have to put part of the blame for the bad OL on BA and Hardold Goodwin.
Goodwin - There was a severe lack of talent developed despite Keim investing money and draft picks in guys. BA - He had a very complicated system which involved alot of deep drops and waiting for guys to get open, something which didn't suit the personnel IMO. If we are to believe what we are being told we will run the ball more and the QB will be getting the ball out of his hands quicker.

Crazy how the last Fordham player drafted was John Skelton in 2010.

Hope Dorian Johnson (currently on Panthers roster) could get another shot under Brown as his position coach than the below average Goodwin ... letting talented OL go under previous regime's complicated (200+play) offense and OL teaching of screaming louder (as stated by LeCharles Bentley former OL -- see story on his academy for OL Bentley Training Academy . I personally heard Mr. Bentley about 8 mos ago on 98.7 berating the teaching methods of Harold Goodwin.

Not sure if everyone has been watching those Flight Plan videos on the Cards main website but if you go back and watch the Draft episode you might get some insight on just how high the brass were on Edmonds. When discussing the THIRD pick in the draft Wilks starts naming off the guys he likes (assuming from the Cards big board) and he actually names Edmonds as a possible 3rd round pick. I rewatched the scene a couple times to make sure it wasn’t somehow a mixup by the editor.. It seems to jive. So yeah Cards were REALLY HIGH on this guy. Can’t wait to see him with the rock in his hands.

It's funny because the fans of the previous regime blamed Russ Grimm for the Oline. There is only so much a coach can do with what they have to work with. Our oline has been mediocre for the past couple of years to put it mildly. Too many old guys with nothing left in the tank and injury prone. That is why I question drafting a running back when we have so many Oline needs.
