Worst season opener I have seen in a long time, at least that I can remember. Got beat in every aspect of the game, at home, to the Washington Redskins. They who have 2 winning seasons in the past 10 and Gruden never have winning an opener.
To say the offense lacked any imagination is a severe understatement. That was simply brutal play calling. Can it really be we have so few weapons that it had to look that VANILLA? Wow.
Sam Bradford might be 30 but he moves like a 45 year old guy. Not much zip on the ball when you're lower body looks like two popsicle sticks.
Jamar Taylor is going to have a very long season. Three holding penalties because he got beat so badly. The announcer says he had to hold because he doesn't have the speed to keep up. Ouch. I put this on Keim. I"m pretty sure Bethal is better then this guy.
Run defense? Worst I have seen from the Cards in years. Missed tackles, missed assignments, bad penalties over and over. Remember how we thought Bettcher wasn't that good of a coordinator? He had close to a top 5 defense here.
Deon Buccanon had the worst game I have seen a linebacker have in a long time. He got beat over and over again both in the run and pass. He puts his head down when facing a block and gets lost. And he cant keep up with anyone.
It does indeed look like we have the worst WR group in the NFL.
Steve Wilks looked like a man who just got run over by a truck. Welcome to the NFL as a head coach Steve. Could it have been any worse.
How long before the Josh Rosen howls get heard. We're not ready to throw him to those wolves just yet.
Simply a stunner. I was excited to watch this game and quickly got deflated. I stand by my 7-9 prediction and we go play the Rams next. How do you say 0-2?
Least our special teams was finally pretty good.

This fiasco today is what true rebuilding looks like. Everything sucks. It's all sideways or up for every unit from here on. Cannot get worse.

Schemes and the play was just horrible. Sam can't seem to read the field I can't believe how many times I saw fitz wide open and he never even looked at him. He is not worth what we paid for him so far. They better get that kid ready.

"Over the hill RB like Adrian Peterson" He played really well. Good call ZAZ. He even caught a swing pass and took it for a nice gain right in front of me.

Yeah we simply got our asses handed to us. I agree Buc had an awful game from being pummeled by pulling guards to getting beat by rbs, slots and tight ends. That offensive game plan was about as complex as tecmo bowl’s offense.

Cards run D is so bad, that at least we won’t have to worry who is the number two cornerback.
Is that a positive negative, or a negative positive?

2 guys need to step up.
Wilks needs to light a fire under this defense, take it over if you have to.
Rosen needs to take over and allow McCoy to create an offensive game plan that forces the opponent to defend the field.

Awful! I don’t want to suffer through this again. Garbage football. So Embarasing, they should all give back their game check.

This is why I hated the McCoy hire. He's known for vanilla offense. It's gonna be so damn boring to watch if he stays here after this season...
Also looks like we need a couple new LBs to help with our run defense. Ugh.

That run defense is just.. bad.
They better figure it out quickly because it's sure not going to get easier next week on the road against Todd Gurley.
If the team that played today shows up next week in LA we could lose by 60. This was just shameful and an embarrassment. Lets see how well they bounce back next week, but I admit at this point it's difficult to be optimistic.

Now that i've had time to calm down and think about it, some bright spots:
- I thought the offensive line generally looked fine - Running game was solid; DJ and Edmonds had some yds, just didn't get the chance to use them enough - special teams
That's about it lol. But it's something. Obviously our defense has to improve but I'm hoping they will if our offense can actually give them more time to rest. I would also consider putting Hodges in for Reddick. I think he would actually tackle someone.
But this offense has got to find a way to stretch the field and open up more space. Now I'm wishing we signed Bridgewater instead of Bradford because this is what Sam does.
You never know what can happen in football so let's hope for a miracle against the Rams. If Bradford looks like **** in that game, I would strongly consider starting Rosen week 3.

Rosen is not ready.. No reason to throw him to the lions. This is not the time to freak out!! Glennon should have played in the 4th quarter. Glennon would be the biggest change of pace. Rosen needs more time, if he were to play, he would be running the same type of dink n dunk philosophy as Bradford. Glennon would be the best at running a different type of offense. Bradford is our QB, and Glennon is the only option we have, if they want to change to a play option type offense.. Glennon would run around like his hair is on fire. That’s not Bradford or Rosen’s game.
The team is rebuilding.. The offensive line needs to gel before they throw Rosen into the game..I was disappointed with the effort of the defense. Diche did improve, I wonder if it had anything to do with Big money contract in Chicago.
Go Cardinals!

Bradford was looking to get the balls out of his hands so quick it prevented him from seeing the field I think he is a lost cause that is my most overreacted opinion lol. He needs to settle down if he doesn't the kid is gonna be playing before we know it. Captain checkdowm won't be throwing deep balls much in my opinion. His play allows defenses to stack the box.
