UNLESS DEION SANDERS IS AVAILABLE FIRST PICK HAS GOT TO BE OL... Other than Alex Leatherwood, very few O-lineman are proven. And there's not a single Center proven which is why I think we have to prioritize getting a free agent center. I agree that O-line is our top priority next year. I don't think I'm risking a first round pick on one, unless we went for leatherwood. Since we drafted Jones this year, I don't think LW is an option. I agree with FLCF that Chase is can't miss. He won't be there when we pick, which is why i tossed out the name Patrick Surtain.

I think in shortened or even a lack of a season, the Lines will be the default positions to go to. I'd say 6/7 O line taken in the first round in 2021. Similar numbers, 5/6 D line.

Not saying he is 1st round talent But:
Take a good look at Deonte Brown. He is a red shirt senior for Alabama. 6 feet 4 330 lbs
1. Deonte Brown is strong and tough watch him versus Derrick Brown from last season. He dominated Derrick Brown see the second video below
2. Great run blocker played in a tough conference
3. Deonte Brown is in much better shape than in the past.
Red Flags
1. He has had weight problems. During the covid crisis you need to count on players keeping in shape.
2. He was suspended before the Orange Bowl in 2018 He played in 9 games in 2019.
Go to 1:30 in the video where they talk about Deonte Brown
Go TO 5:55 Where Deonte Brown handles the great Derrick Brown over and over. This is what you need to protect Kyler up the middle.
Deonte Brown is back in good football shape and hopefully he has matured away from his off the field problems.
He has a very high upside. Still there are concerns.
We will see how it works out in 2020 and Where Deonte Brown is drafted in 2021.

They should provide all of today's players and extra redshirt year and skip the draft next year. Let any player who wants to turn pro enter free agency

They should provide all of today's players and extra redshirt year and skip the draft next year. What about reducing the draft to, say, three rounds? - Those players wishing to return to college should automatically be allowed. - In other words give the talented players a real option.

Cornerback may become a position of need for Our Arizona Cardinals. Should we only have a 'modest' season in 2020 then taking a CB in Round 1 could be highly desirable. cardinalsins link, above, has Caleb Farley top CB of the list. - There are others out there who also like him a lot. Should something like this happen then OL in Round 2 could still work. - A Guard who has unexpectedly dropped (aka Josh Jones) would then do nicely...

Hi Devongent, Caleb Farley is definitely a top CB. He opted out of playing this season. He gave a detailed explanation in this article below. It is not promising in the way of a good outlook for college football this season. profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/08/03/caleb-farley-paints-troubling-picture-of-college-football-in-a-pandemic/

Looks like my Patrick Surtain idea won't happen. They have him mocked going number two. Kiper just did his first mock. If we are stuck at pick 10, he has us taking Devonta Smith, WR - Bama. It makes a lot of sense for us but if we are picking 10 again, KK needs to be fired.
Devonta Smith and Jamarr Chase are the two best WR's in this year's class. I'm a huge fan of Chase but Smith might be a better fit.

Let any player who wants to turn pro enter free agency It would not make sense for a first round talent to try to enter as a Free Agent. The rookie deal would mean they'd be on a fraction of what they would be on with a draft.

I can see a CB being the first round selection in 2021 and interior o-line with the 2nd and 3rd round picks.

I certainly have no problem with Steve Keim going after a premier right guard at Round 1, 2021 draft. The Oline is not yet well. If the team does good at the 2020 season, and our draft spot moves down substantially due to a playoff run, Davis could be the #1. Win-win!

This is the year to trade as many of our picks as we can. Trade back, pick up picks in later years, get older guys on shorter deals, etc. Build around Kylers rookie deal with some vets. ****, send a pick or two for Zach Ertz.
