yes mel because of the entirely new qb roster and coaching staff. it takes time for a team to gel and learn a system. if a team totally sucks then there can be improvement even when learning a new system over a failed system. but we didn't suck last year so odds are our results go down not up. its not just a player or two learning a new play book, its everybody on the team including coaches learning a new playbook. there is no one that knows the play book by heart to carry those who don't fully know it yet. we will have a lot more blown assignments this year than last year or next year just as a result of knowing the playbook. Well again my friend.....how's it any different than when BA took over? Not that you don't make some valid points, but your basis still begs the question given that we've been here before with opposite results of the skepticism. Granted I'm an optimist but the examples I sited speaks for themselves.

the year before ba were went 5-11. we did suck. whiz inherited warner who made him look much better than he was, and when warner was gone so was whiz's time being a head coach. going for and offensive coach to an offensive coach is not as drastic as going from an offensive coach to a defensive one. it changes the whole teams priorities. ba relied on offense to win games, wilk will rely on the defense to win games. as a result I expect the ba to wilks playbook to be far more different than from the whiz to ba playbooks were. going from whiz to ba was like going from French to Spanish, sure they are different but alike enough they share the basics. going from ba to wilks is gonna be like going from French to chineese or Arabic when they don't even share the same alphabet.

Bradford will not be here next year, almost guaranteed by his contract construction. Glennon may not be pretty and Kanoff May have looked good against 3rd stringers and worse for a few preseason quarters, but we will not want to be a QB room of Rosen/Kanoff/? next season. If a better QB2 than Glennon comes available, then let’s talk. But Glennon is the same type of QB as Rosen and can run the same system. There’s a value in that. Does this really matter if he’s atrocious? What does this even mean(Rhetorical question) Rhetorical but...a tall pocket passer who can succeed with the same O playbook and Oline composition. And there are far more atrocious QBs than young, 6’-7”, 230 lb guys with 5000 yards, 83 QBR and a 34/20 TD/INT ratio

Going by memory, we had a pretty decent team post-Whiz that seemed to have been handicapped by "the System", so talent wise we are about in the same situation now with a new coaching change. Attitude makes a difference too. Fingers crossed.

Ill save my whining and complaining when he signs and blows up in the league and we regret it so much. I know I have eaten crow on Jaxon Shipley and his success after the Cards cut him to the chagrin of this board. Oh wait, he never signed anywhere else after we cut him in Sept of 2016! Hey, I like Shipley too! I like athletic go-get-it type receivers.
Of course you do! And you want to waste a roster spot on a guy that cant make arena league...

Granted, not much of a trial period but still compared to our others, not too great so far.
EDIT: After his Broncos game performance he looked far better than any time before with the Cards. If that was not a one-time event, I can see SK keeping him unless there is an attractive offer from someone else.

As stated in another thread Glennon is the #3 QB Unless the Cards FO gets an offer they can't refuse...…. story to be continued....

I say keep Glennon. Not going to get enough to warrant trading him and he's an affordable, decent backup qb.
