Anyone think the Cards will put him on display Thursday, or will they sit him? There is risk doing either if some desperate team is truly looking for a QB backup.
The risk? He could look good enough to convince 'someone' to keep him here and dump Kanoff, or
He could stink it up and nobody would want him as a backup, 'someone' would say we have too much invested to cut him, and then dump Kanoff.
Either way we lose.
All from my perspective of course...
Glennon will obviously play. Kanoff isn't playing the entire game. They will likely split. This news is funny considering some on this forum told me Glennon "suckzzzzzzz!!!" Just doing a quick look around the league, a lot of teams could use him as their backup.

You think Bradford will be sitting too? We know Rosen will be. So, one half for Glennon, one for Kanoff? Maybe we rest the first teamers and nobody can tell how good either of those two would/could be if supported better? That would prove nothing as to who is more expendable.
I don't expect much of a game. Mostly guys making one last try to impress and stick on the 53, IMO.
Yep, some teams may be desperate enough. We were. I guess the rationale is something is better than nothing, even if low grade something.

Oh for sure I think Bradford will sit. Really no reason to play him. All it takes is one play for an injury to happen and with the season so close, you shouldn't risk that with DJ, Bradford and Fitz on offense. So yeah, I'm just ready to get this game out of the way so we can focus on the Redskins.

GB traded Hundley to the Seattle today as well. So who else id looking for a backup that Glennon could be shipped off to? Let's keep our fingers crossed and hope the Indianapolis GM calls Stevie K in a week. Andrew Luck is still not 100% and no one knows how long he's going to play this season. And I have no idea how many day-old donuts the Indy GM is willing to fork over for zombie Glennon. I would be willing to GIVE the Colts as many day-old donuts as they need to take Mike Glennon off our hands and throw in a cup of coffee with cream and sugar if needed I will throw in my free ride to the airport for Mike Glennon as well !

I was on the trade Glennon bandwagon at first but now I hesitate at the idea of possibly having two rookie QB's to back up an injury prone veteran.

I was on the trade Glennon bandwagon at first but now I hesitate at the idea of possibly having two rookie QB's to back up an injury prone veteran. True it is not ideal, but we won't be in the running for the best record in the league, either. Most of us agreed some time ago that this will be a building year, not a year for success. IF (that nasty word again) both rookies survived uninjured I would not mind them playing whatever the record, but if our OL cannot give them decent protection it could be brutal. I sure hope SK will actually get some good OL personnel before next year, or we will be doing runs and dink/dunk passes every game and depending on defense/S Teams to score. Realistically, with no good WRs that will probably be the case anyway... Glennon as the sacrificial lamb is the only way he makes a bit of sense to me, but if we do that then odds are Kanoff will be on the PS and lost, or cut, and I do not like either because I think he is a diamond in the rough and a good bet to become very good.
This last PS game could be very rough on both rookies, and I hope they come through it with no injuries. I bet the first string OL will not play long if at all, and all the fringe and bubble players will be trying to make a final chance big impression.

in my perfect world glennon will play ok tonite and kanof will look a bit like a rookie so that indy or anyone will call about glennon. in reality its way too soon to make a decision about kanof however glennon has a bad vibe and it doesn't look like his heart is in it. look at his last 18 months-went from getting big contract to start for bears-lasted 4 games, then here he was beaten out for back up by a rookie early during camp. I was against signing him but I didn't expect him to be THIS BAD. in light of the new era imho cards should jettison glennon, dawson and nelson. dawson because of his age and the new kid has performed well...nelson because we know what he is-maybe, just maybe larry will rub off on some of the other guys-at least give them a shot. with dj and larry in the games defenses will play differently than weve seen in the preseason. also in mho Robert n should be trade bait-at least pierre will give effort on every play and there would be many coaches who would think THEY could get Robert n to develop. and please let the Brandon Williams experiment be over-though I would be ok with him assigned to practice squad. in the wake of sk's dwi it will be interesting to see if he will have to allow more input fron mb and others on the 53.

If the Team can get another QB needy team to bite on Glennon then Oh Heck Yeah! And why the concern about 2 rookies backing up Sam? Most of the posters here have written this season off. I'm not in that camp. But I'm not in the keep Glennon camp either. Have never wanted him, even when as a rookie before his draft he worked with Kurt Warner. Everyone wants to write the Cards "off" this year. There will be many surprises from this Team this year. And many "pundits" will be singing a different tune later in the season. Mark these words. You heard it here.

Sam has played a couple of series and thrown the ball about 12 yards down the field and we already want to dump our backup QB. Glennon sucks and we grossly overpaid for him but he's a decent typical crappy backup QB. If Rosen was ready he would be starting right now. The coaching staff has taken the position to develop him on the bench. Lets see Sam actually get through a quarter of real NFL football before we dump Glennon for a conditional pick. SK guaranteed him money for a reason.

If the team still has some maneuvering room left on this years cap, then I could see keeping Glennon. So there are 2 questions 1. What is the possible trade offer. 2. What are the opportunities to improve the team with the additional cap space. My guess is, Glennon will be here at least through week 1. If ( hate using that word) Kanoff clears waivers and makes it too the PS. Then it could become an option to trade Glennon. At that point, the team may get better compensation. MHO.
